So I have a question for you guys that are out of work, and looking for jobs: Have you applied for jobs and positions that 1 year ago would have been "beneath you" or are you holding out for jobs and pay that you feel you deserve? If you have a MBA, but cant find a VP job, do you wait it out with your pride? or do you take a job working at the local Radio Shack for 9 bucks an hour? Another question: Any interested in working in the gun industry? Before you get too excited, beware of what you are getting yourself into: Long hours Hard work Low pay Dealing with customers that: -Can find it cheaper somewhere else know more than you -Think their Marlin 30-30 with a crap Weaver scope is worth a new Colt 6920 straight up -Every ex-Marine that walks in the door telling you stories of when he was a Scout Sniper on a Presidential detail -Old timers that get pissed because its going to cost 125 bucks to reblue their old single shot that's worth no more than about 12 bucks -People that think that the price on the tag REALLY means Price - 10%, out the door and includes a box of ammo and a free holster. -People that want to do nothing but bitch and moan about how the country is going to hell, and what they are going to do with the revolution comes. -People that think the country has already gone to hell, and what they are going to do when the zombies come. -And finally, the worst one of all: Dealing with ME! Still interested? Here is what we are looking for: While we dont expect you to be a walking firearms encyclopedia, you need to have a better than average knowledge and understanding of firearms, ballistics, tactics, and State and Federal laws. You should be well spoken, and able to communicate in a professional manner. Customer service and your ability to treat your customer with respect, win their confidence, and service them in a professional manner is a must. Military experience is a plus LE experience is a plus NRA Membership is a must (if you are not currently a NRA member, we will pay your first year of membership at time of hire) Basic armorer or gunsmith experience is a plus NRA Firearm Instructor certification is a plus Tinfoil hats should be checked at the door as we have no interest in hearing your theory on the faked moon landing, who really killed JFK, or how GWB not only knew of but planned the 911 attacks. If you think you have what we are looking for, feel free to email me your resume and bio to joe@hero-gear.com

I would offer 1200-1300/shipped, but more if they can actually provide the 40 round magazines he advertises.... *added: Im joking on the 40rd mag thing....

When is the last time you were at Lewis? North Fort used to suck the big one back in the early/mid 90s, but they dumped a TON of money into it, and I dont see why being "stuck" over there would be all that bad. **I believe his son is in 5/20 Infantry which (unless they have moved) is over on main post.

Glen I refuse to say goodbye, so lets try "see you later" instead.

I was given a bottle of JD Single Barrel with a birthday greeting and signatures from the Master Distiller and Master Taster this week. Very cool present!

I will add; I stand behind my original advice: *I will add that I always recommend that your best deals are had when you find a friendly gunshop and develop a relationship with them. Dealers get tired of the "I can find it 2 dollars cheaper 600 miles away, so I will come in and pick your brain for ideas and then buy it elsewhere" which we see all too often. Find a dealer you like, built a relationship. In the long run, you will get better deals, receive better customer service, and will be the recipient of "good customer" deals when they come around. So, if you have found a home East Nashville, thats great! Build that relationship, and support your dealer!

Sounds like your questions were already answered well before you took the time to register here and contribute these 3 posts. Nice job at the subliminal advertising for Bill. Im sure he will appreciate it. Welcome to TGO, and enjoy your new 642. Sounds like you a good used on for close to the price of a brand new one. (and NO. Winchester Isn't too far....which is proven every single day as people drive past the ghetto and many other shops on their way to Winchester)

I dont know anything about his sales tactics, so if you are interested in purchasing that gun, my recommendation is to make an offer and see what he says. The worst that can happen is that he say no. GL with your search.

440.00 + tax/tics? Not exactly a great deal, but these little J frames are very popular and hold their value very well. For comparison, we sell new 642s for $469.00 plus tax/tics *I will add that I always recommend that your best deals are had when you find a friendly gunshop and develop a relationship with them. Dealers get tired of the "I can find it 2 dollars cheaper 600 miles away, so I will come in and pick your brain for ideas and then buy it elsewhere" which we see all too often. Good point. The info presented was the guy was in the car, it seems the stereo is either being stolen, or you had just won a free surprise install of a premium system from Crutchfield.com. At this point, you want the guy out of your car, but is he really a lethal threat to you? Is the next step beyond yelling at him and calling the cops to clear leather? The reason I am really stressing that people think about this is I have a good friend who was in a similar situation (actually it was 3 on 1) and that person cleared leather. Guess what guys? The LE, DA, and Court system is pretty unpredictable! One would assume that 3 on 1 is a no-brainer for pulling your gun, right? Wrong. That person was not only charged, but ended up with a guilty conviction! So, my point is; better be 105% sure that you were 2 seconds away from bodily injury or death, because you may find your ass sitting in jail for defending your 8 track!

So, the task of this exercise (per the OP) was to: I think that playing the "there are too many unknowns" is weak and you should either use the limited info given in this scenario to give everyone an idea of what YOU would do, or dont bother posting in the thread. Are there many unknowns? Yep. Such as life. There isnt a right or wrong answer here guys. You dont get extra credit for sandbagging your answer. If you think you should come out of your house guns blazing, tell us and explain why. If you think that kicking the guy in the jewels is the way to go, explain why. Again, there is no right or wrong here. Explain your tactics and why they work for you. This allows us to view the situation from another persons perspective, and perhaps learn or apply some of their suggestions to your mental kit. I think think Packinmama made a great case here. She said: That makes sense to me! I dont share her tactics and elevation of force because im different from her, have different training and physical abilities. I think it would be easy to defend herself in court over her use of force, where someone like myself my find it harder to convince a judge or jury that lethal force was my only option. So, we can hide behind instructor-speak, or we can just participate in the discussion, present your case and explain why it would work in your particular situation.
