  1. I want to thank all of the people that took the time to come out and visit the Expo today. A few thoughts: 1. I am smoked! Who would have ever thought that putting one of these things on would take some much time, energy, and money! 2. We all need to remember the original intent of this show: Offer a blend of retail sales, factory reps, trainers, 2A organizations, and most importantly- kill all of the junk and flea market crap. Did we succeed? Retail sales- We were pleased to have people like Hero-Gear, The Outpost, C3 Defense, Tactical Response, and another 3 or 4 major retailers there. Did we suffer from major retail shops bailing out at the very last minute? YOU BET! We had no less than 6 major vendors bail at the last minute for various BS reasons. Will we have tons more at the next Expo? YOU BET! Factory Reps? When is the last time you saw factory reps at your daddy's gun show? Never? The following manufacturers were present: C3 Defense Trijicon Benelli Beretta Surefire 5.11 Tactical ASP Not bad eh? We will have MORE at the next Expo. Trainers? We had the only AIS Prisim Simulator in civilian hands We also had several other trainers present. I feel we missed the mark here, and we already have plans in place to offer several paid and free classes and clinics at the next Expo. 2A and other organizations? We had NRA recruiters, TGO, the U.S. Army, and the NRA March present. We plan on adding more of these types of vendors next Expo. *Keep in mind that we DONATE all of the space and support for these types of vendors. So, all in all, I think it is a very good start. Remember that Rome wasn't built in a day. I feel that we have a great concept, and are working very hard to make each and every Expo event bigger and better than the last.
  2. FYI, Smith and Wesson has been on board for the past 3 months, only to have mandatory meetings in Mass. this week for ALL LE and Commercial sales guys. It sucks, but there is nothing I can do about that fact that they waited a week before the event to pull the sales force in-house this week. Bottomline; SW wont be there. Looking for a lower? There will be TONS of lowers at this event, with GREAT pricing! Also, I am one hour away from sealing the deal to buy out a smaller gun store and their inventory. If this happens today, that entire inventory will be on hand at crack-head prices!
  3. Guys I dont know what happened to the Knox show thread, but I dont think its a secret that there are like 3 shows going on that same weekend. Pick which show makes the most sense for you. The Expo wont be as "big" as the established show in Knoxville. This is the very first Expo, and our vision for it is a bit different than what you have seen at other shows. With time, I think people will come to appreciate the Expo format, and will choose it over other tradition jerky conventions. Whichever show you choose, have a great time, and hope you find lots of great deals!
  4. They have a Ford Taurus at the FBO you can use once you land.
  5. Are you being a smartass or really asking a question? Mid-South Guns And Gear Expo - Local Amenities
  6. (oh wait.....that one's true)
  7. Tan makes your rifle more tactical.....
  8. I knew I had heard his name before.....now I have MORE reason to like him! Allen West (former U.S. military officer) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  9. Allen West for US Congress 2010 | Allen West for Congress 2010 Powerful words. Lets hope he gets the opportunity to serve in 2010
  10. I guess im trying to figure out what the rub is. So you saw some random number on the back of a bag, but on the other side is clearly marked both the price and quantity? You then claim that most places are selling brass for .10 per piece, while the one you had such an "odd experience" with was selling his for .07 per piece? Are you mad at him for not giving his product away? Are you mad at yourself for being "one of those guys" Are you mad because you didnt calculate the cost per, realizing you were getting a good deal at 18 bucks? Im confused.
  11. Im sure any of them would be happy to take your money. Im sure that Glock will do what it takes to fill the dealer pipleline as efficiently and quickly as possible. If the guns are available from Glock, they will be available to you. (in other words, don't expect the cluster %@)(&*# you saw with guns like the P238 and LCP)
  12. I have a Select Grade in .308 and love it.
  13. Sorry guys. I just saw this request. I will get that to your on Monday.
  14. When are you going to buy a real 1911
  15. Ben, I am very pleased that you will be attending the event. Get with me or David next week, and we will address your space requirements. We will make sure people know of this training opportunity as they walk in the door by adding your class info to our handouts.
  16. I think they are saying that CCA charges a 50.00 transfer fee for firearms that they stock, or normally stock. ie: If you buy a Glock 27 from Buds or TopGlock, they will charge you 50.00 to transfer it. Transfer fees (and sales in general) are not regulated by the U.S. Department of I Think My Dealer Is Mean, but by you, the consumer. No dealer can MAKE you pay a transfer fee that you feel is too high. Its your right and responsibility to let your pocketbook regulate those dealers that have poor services and/or practices. We have beat this "how much should I pay for a transfer" subject to death. The members of TGO have polled dealers and customers on this, and the average "acceptable" fee that should be charged for a transfer is; 25.00 + Tics This is the number that most dealers use, and its the number that most customers have said they feel is acceptable. If you find a guy willing to charge less, thank him. If you find a guy wanting to charge more, perhaps continue your search. Good luck! **Shameless Plug: Hero-Gear charges 25.00 + Tax
  17. While I understand your need to gauge interest in your product prior to attending an event, I think you need to understand that you need to assume some risk, and put yourself out there a bit. I havent seen any of the other vendors say "if I can guarantee 25 rifle sales at the Expo, I will come and buy a table" Here is what I suggest: Dont expect all 20 seats to come from TGO members. We already know who you are. We can promote a late afternoon class for you as people enter the building, which should help get the word out about you, and your product. I would think that you would add several attendees from the walk in traffic.
  18. Was Evergreen operating that aircraft?
  19. I think its funny that AWG got spanked and had their 416s taken away... (but then again, AWG doesnt exist either. )
  20. Too far? Do you commute via horse-drawn carriage? But seriously, have you ever been to a show in Memphis? Ours is closer.
  21. You are looking at 8-12 minutes per shooter so I am sure you will be able to get in and out with plenty of time to see the rest of the Expo.
  22. Check out: Aegis Training Home This is going to be an awesome experience for people!
  23. I figured that David had expanded his media empire into print magazines for teh gheys.
