  1. We also have a ton of CZs in stock, to include 75s, P01s, and Tac Sports. What I find very interesting, is the number of USED CZs we take in on trade. I cant figure out why so many experienced shoots have traded in 75s and P01s in the past 6 months. What didnt they like about them? *I love my Tac Sport btw....best non-1911 trigger available!
  2. Thats for the support guys. The June date is a bust. We are still committed to putting on a totally kickass event, one that is very different than what is currently offered. Its obvious that we need to find a better venue, in a larger metro area. We are looking for one that provides the space and amenities we need, while keeping an eye on overhead. I want to get this project fired up as quickly as possible, but as my old Sergeant Major said; "...don't rush to failure..." *I have several TGO members actively looking for "the perfect place" for us to move the Expo to. Stay tuned.
  3. Thats great! While I cant commit to traveling over there to help pick up trash, I would like to donate some ANSI II Hi-Vis safety vests to the project. Is there any need for these? if so, tell me how many you need, and where to ship them.
  4. Depending how I am dressed, I will rotate between: Ed Brown 1911 HK P7 S&W 340PD *The P7 and the 340PD see a lot of action in the summer
  5. Well, I will certainly sleep well tonight knowing we agree.
  6. GENERALLY SPEAKING Colt's quality, performance, value, and overall competitive edge has been lacking in the 1911 market for about 40 years. Colt has not kept pace with the competition, which has caused their market share to shift from total dominance to a lack luster position in a very crowded market. Colt has been on the edge of bankruptcy many times over the past 20-30 years, and has been saved from certain doom by fat no-bid contracts from DoD. ** With the M16/M4 stranglehold having been broken by companies like FN and Sabre, its only a matter of time before Colt starts to suffer from their black rifle business being shifted away from them.
  7. Actually not, but then if I did, im sure you and all of your friends in East Nashville would love it. Here is the point I was trying to make: (I will break it down caveman-style for you) 1. The 100 year Colt displayed at the NRA show looked like a gaudy POS that some ghetto fabulous fool had done up in auto shop. (or that had been done by Lew Horton) 2. That same gaudy 1911 will be priced about 2.5x higher than it is really worth, but will be snatched up by "collectors" and guys that drink more than the recommended amount of 3. I stand by my statment that Colts have LONG lost their real value in the market, and the last good 1911s they made were Pre-70 series/70 series guns. 4. The very reason why guys like Wilson Combat and Clark Customs got their start was that people wanted MORE out of their Colts. They were tired of piss-poor fit, feel, and performance that was the standard coming from Colt. 5. If you want an American icon, buy a Colt. If you want a wonderful 1911, there are 3 billion options out there OTHER than Colt. 6. Like always, your opinion and experience may vary but keep in mind that this is MY opinion, and I stand behind it. ** I will also add that I have a WONDERFUL Colt 1911 collection that I would be happy to share with you. (I am pretty sure that except for my Delta Elite, and a Combat Commander that had 2k worth of work done by Ted Yost, all of my Colts were made before 1970)
  8. You're right. I got my math wrong... Colt hasnt made a decent 1911 40+ years....
  9. Honestly? No. I thought it looked gaudy, but to each his own. I am sure they will be snatched up by collectors, but the quality and craftsmanship coming from Colt dont hold a candle to the many very high quality semi-custom production and complete custom 1911 options that are available today.
  10. Because Colt hasnt built a decent 1911 in 30 years.
  11. I saw it in person at the NRA show.....Unless you are planning to buy it as a "collectable" dont waste your time or money
  12. That "watchmaker" guy has whored that thread/info all over the web. While good info, I would say his reviews are about 3-5 years out of date, and do not include the latest and greatest in lighting options available today. I would also add that his post has certain "motives" as he produces flashlights, and this post has been used on many forums in a passive sales capacity. In regards to a separate forum for lights, I say NO. I would say that it makes sense to add to the new Knives forum, since they both fall into the secondary weapons/"dont leave home without it" catagory.
  13. I will also add that Hero-Gear (TN's largest 5.11 showroom) is holding their annual 5.11 Days on May 29th 2010. The factory rep will be present and Hero-Gear will be offering 20% off of all 5.11 Tactical Gear. $50.00 5.11 purchase gets you a free 5.11 hat Other deals: 10% off all Used Firearms 20% off all Surefire 20% off all Knives C Products AR mags @ 7.00 each Buy any AR, get a free Spikes Tactical Lower Receiver
  14. The other problem you had was "oh yeah, I would totally buy like 5 hats and 10 shirts...." only to have people pull the "Im short on cash, maybe I will get one next month...."
  15. Yes. Here is their FB page: Zombie Research Society | Facebook
  16. I have owned several "real" Land Cruisers (FJ40) and several of the last "good" Land Cruisers (FZJ80) The 100 series vehicles are great vehicles, although less capable of hardcore offroading like the older models.
  17. Or promote them to Moderator....
  18. The Hero-1911s are in fact custom guns build by Hero-Gear / Hero Guns on our own receivers. We can also take your existing 1911, and modify it into your dream gun per your specs and wishes.
  19. Yep, bags are in stock and available for sale Single Pistol Bag @ 45.00 and Double @ 49.00 (available in Black, Coyote Tan) *Range Green coming soon!
  20. I carry the LWRC version for 50-60 bucks less. *Im also working on a USA MADE version which will have a much better design, will be more structured, offer more features, and.....oh yeah; CHEAPER!
  21. These are some of the very first Hero-1911 pistols to be delivered. When we started this project late last summer, we knew there would be lots of details to sort out before we were ready to release guns to the public. Its amazing to look at the initial test mule guns that we demo'd last summer, and the finished product today. They have really evolved into amazing works of (lethal) art! I also decided to design my own pistol bags, and have them produced here in the US. This was extra work and expense, but I felt well worth it. Now that we have things up and running smoothly, delivery time has greatly improved. Enjoy your gun!
  22. Current lead time is 4-6 weeks.
  23. Its an option, but will contribute to much longer lead times. Full zoot @ 1899.00 Minor pricing adjustments for things like threaded barrels, light rail, etc.
