  1. I believe you are correct, sir.
  2. That's something we can definitely talk about whenever you're ready. Something I'll also mention are our one way opportunities. Basically when we have an airplane flying empty between two cities, each person can fly for $150 per person, per flight! Those flights are distributed through a weekly email. Anyone who would like to recieve that list can follow this link to sign up: Plane Conversations: Empty Leg Opportunities | Plane Conversations This will take you to our website: www.flycfm.com. I believe there is a Social Flights website that will be launching soon, but not quite yet. Awesome! He's a great guy. You are correct though, and that's exactly what we try to do for our clients on every trip.
  3. It doesn't have to be an event as popular as the Super Bowl. We recently had a group of about 60 Mississippi State fans travel on 3 of our planes to Jacksonville, FL for a bowl game. They had a great time. Every year we have a couple of groups of guys who travel to go hunt and fish. One group of 12 or so spends a few days in South Dakota pheasant hunting (I flew that trip this year...had my share of SD quickly) and another group heads to Arkansas for trout fishing, followed by a trip to Tunica for gambling. A short trip to Tunica for a couple of nights in one of our 19 seat turbo props is quite affordable when the cost is split 19 ways. The folks in this department are working on a trip to Vegas currently. I haven't seen the numbers for it, but based on the airplane they're trying to fill for this one (Gulfstream IVSP), it won't be too cheap probably. We operate about 30 airplanes. Everything from 8 seat King Airs, to 30 seat Jetstream 41's, and all sizes and configurations in between. We pretty much have the aircraft for any mission. Glad to see there is some interest in this here.
  4. I work for an aircraft charter company based here in Middle TN and we are launching a new program that in short will allow individuals a more cost effective way to fly on private aircraft. This program will help group people together who are interested in going to the same destinations (ex. sporting events, travel hotspots, etc.) and allow the cost to be split among all passengers. Flying privately means that you wake up in the morning, get on the flight, go to the big game, and your home to sleep in your bed that night. No security lines, no pat downs, no screening, no waiting at the airport for hours before your trip; show up and walk right out to the plane. Simple. I'm certain many of you will suspect that this kind of travel isn't "Southwest cheap" and most us can't afford to do this every weekend. But it may be cheaper than you think. For instance, a roundtrip on a private jet to Dallas for the Super Bowl next month is only about the cost of a mid-range 1911 (there are two seats remaining!). If you would like any more information about Social Flights or chartering an aircraft, please PM me, I'll be happy to talk with you. (Thanks to TGO David for allowing me the opportunity to promote this venture)
  5. I'll be there wandering around. Never been to the Murfreesboro show or an RK show. Hopefully it'll be a good one.
  6. Great, thank you! I'm itching for my first 1911.
  7. What vendors in Middle TN have Metro Arms American Classic 1911 for sale? Of those, who has the best prices? I'm looking to fondle one of the commander length models. Thanks in advance.
  8. Just saw one of these at the Outpost Armory. Never had even heard of it until then but it's a nice looking piece. They are taking pre-orders at $699 (I believe).
  9. That's the way I'm leaning now. It has a long vent rib barrel on it now so I'll pick up a 18 incher and be good to go. Plus it'll be easier for my wife to handle.
  10. The Outpost Armory has them for 299...saw one there yesterday.
  11. I've been thinking about this comment in particular for the past few hours and this might be the way I should go (as much as I want a SBS). Reason I say that is, one night this week, my wife and I woke up to the shrill sound of our house alarm going off. Our home is small so the only keypad is in a central part of our house so leaving our bedroom is pretty much the only option other than letting the cops show up. After fumbling in the dark to find my glasses and my trusty Glock 26, I cleared the house. After a quick sweep I shut the alarm off and discovered the culprit...a faulty battery in a window sensor...false alarm. Maybe for me, in our current home (small and close quarters), a handgun is the way to go.
  12. Very good points made here. I'm certain the suppressed AR is a far superior weapon against mutiple targets in body armor, however my budget won't allow that kind of project. I suppose in that situation the high capacity handgun would be my better option (of those available to me).
  13. I've recently been thinking about a new home defense gun. Currently I leave my carry gun, Glock 26, on the night stand along with my Surefire E2D LED for social work in the dark and do have a 20ga ready to go with buckshot. But now I'm starting to think about either stepping up to a 12ga with the intent of someday going through the NFA process and cutting it down to a 14in with the surefire forend or getting a fullsize larger caliber pistol, like a Glock 21sf equipped with some sort of rail mounted light. Opinions and suggestions? Thanks
  14. Very nice...both the gun and carriers.
  15. Thanks Mike. That's good to know.
  16. Other than the $200 tax stamp, what are the cost in taking a 18inch shotgun down to 14inch? Do people normally buy a second barrel and have it cut down, or just have the original cut down? Also, is one brand/model more preferable for any reason for this kind of project (leaning towards Mossberg 500, 590 or Remington 870). Thanks
  17. +1. My wife laughs at me sometimes but I like being ready.
  18. Anyone know if there are any retailers in the middle TN area that carry Glock brand apparel, particularly this hoodie: I can order it online but would rather deal locally if possible. Thanks
  19. I've never owned a Sig...about time to change that I suppose
  20. That sounds like a good plan to me. Be sure to show it off on here if/when you build that little beauty!
  21. Very cool!
  22. ...wonder what happened to him?
  23. Yea I would suppose so...I can't imagine it's a whole lot of fun. I would still like to have it in the corner of my closet though!
  24. Anyone ever owned/fired something like this? STOEGER COACH GUN- PISTOL GRIP- 12 GA : Side by Side at GunBroker.com I was cruising GunBroker and wandered up on this nifty looking modified Stoeger coach gun. There are certainly better home defense weapons, but to me they don't get much cooler than this. So if you've fired something like this,...what's it like? Any accuracy with the point and shoot method I assume you'd have to use?
