  11. I wasn't going to do this but it is now bothering me a little more than I thought it would. A couple of months ago I found out my dad had lung cancer, they started treatment and it went downhill from there. Apparently he had a very aggressive form of lung cancer, we lost him last Tuesday night. I'm sitting in a hotel in eastern NC, preparing to go to his funeral tomorrow, I did not get to see him or say goodby one last time. My work schedule kept me unable to get away long enough for the 8.5 hrs each way. Monday my sister called and told me that they had given him 3 to 4 days, the next day he was gone. For each of you that have lost a parent (s) I now understand the emptiness you feel. Flor those of you that still have your parents around, go to them hug their neck and tell them how much you love them. Before it's too late. I loved me dad, we didn't always get along but I'm going to miss him very much. The only bright part to all this is he didn't suffer long as I understand that cancer is very painfull and can last for a long time.I thank GOD that HE took him home quickly and did not let him suffer long.

Now we're talking, when is this coming out?
  14. Don't even get me started. If I was LE, I'd stop every one of them, just to see what they were afraid of getting caught for. Shoot, if I'm on the interstate and it a 70mph zone and I'm doing 79 (with cruise control set) and I see a cop, I ain't slowing down, ain't hitting my brakes. nada. Now if he pulls out and flips the little blue thingies on, then I'll slow down and pull into the slow lane and wait for him to pull me over.
  15. Ok, let me be clear on the matter, IF my neibours call the cops for a "man with a gun call" it won't be me, their call will consist of "man shooting AGAIN" to which the cops tell them it's county, unless he is hitting your house deal with it. I was speaking in terms of I'm outside, for what ever reason, and the cops pull up while I still have a gun in my hand. No I'm not stupid, yes I will comply with the instructions of the officer, and no I won;t point the gun in their direction.
  16. Beat me to it.
  17. Ok, about that. A Law enforcement office can and MAY detain you once a weapon is found, until it is determined that you pose no threat and are not being arrested. Being placed in handcuffs is not a violation of your civil rights. Cop saw a gun (probally unannounced), did what he determined to be the correct course of action until which time he found that the gun was 1. unloaded and 2. not stolen. Sounds like your buddy needs to get over it, and learn to either put the thing in the trunk (not required but still a good idea), or learn to speak up to the officer and let them know "I have a firearm in the car, it's UNLOADED but I do have one (the whole time keeping hand on steering wheel until told to do other wize), what do you want me to do?" People don't understand that a LE's only desire is to go home to loved ones at the end of their shift, and they do have one of the most dangerour jobs around, so yes they can be on edge.
  18. Thanks, it was a very aggressive lung cancer.
  19. I think I've seen you around. LOL
  20. Sorry to hear about your mom. We just lost my dad on Tuesday night.
  21. Exactly, if I've broken no laws (I'm on my own property), I'm just going to holster it and ask them if I can help them. I know a bunch of them around here and they all know who I am (through my business) so I'm not worried about a "misunderstanding"
  22. I've had the "moster piriate", Losi XXXNT, Traxxas Tmaxx and Revo, and just about every Nitro in between. Just too dang expensive to keep up the way I drive them. LOL.
  23. used to be, guns get most of my money now. Which ones did you get?
  24. You house your rules . Just as long as you don't kick me off I'm happy.
  25. If you have no children, you can actually file everything yourself (if you can get her to sign the papers). I have the forms here somewhere that you fill out, print and file. Pm me if you are interested.
