  1. This is posted in another section but we are not allowed to reply there so I am reposting it. They are posted "no loaded firearms except LEO" so I sent them this "While doing an internet search for local gun stores in east TN, I came across yours and also came across a site that tells me you do not allow legal handgun permit holders to carry in your store. While I dislike your policy, I will honor your wishes and not bother to shop in your business. I’ll also make sure all my HCP friends know we are not welcome in your business. Should you reconsider your policy, please let me know, I’m always looking for a new gun store to prowl around and purchase another for the collection." Gerald M Athens, Tn. 423-XXX-XXXX
  2. My solution is simple, stay the heck out of IL.
  3. You can do what you want. Just let us know the outcome once it's over. I'm not going to tell you that you are right or wrong. I will tell you this: I will inform each and every time I am stopped on the onset of the meeting, I know I DO NOT have to but it also is my choice. I carry for my protection, and contrary to popular belief, a cop carries for his protection also, not yours. If it will make an LEO more at ease to know that I am carrying and even if he want to disarm me, that's fine. The law says he can. Hasn't happened yet and I suspect it never will. I am always polite to LEO if stopped, I see no reason not to be. Therefore if I am polite to a LEO and hand him my HCP when I hand him my DL, then he most probally will know that I'm not the one he needs to be worried about. Those people do a great service most of the time and all they want to do is go home at the end of a shift to their loved ones (just like me BTW).
  4. Yes, you can, as the owner, bring it into the state and then "sell or transfer" to a local resident through a FFL.
  5. God has a plan and even if He has not revealed it to you yet, there is a reason you were spared. Thank you for sharing your experiance.
  6. My wife asked me if I was going? And at my age at the time 40, I would have gone if they would have me but I only served 5 years (actually 5 1/2) and in my physical shape there was no way.
  7. Apreciate that, I've got a local guy here but am trying to see if someone here does it first.
  8. I need to replace my shower, already did this once and the guy completely screwed the job up, I need someone who can do it correctly.
  9. Looking someone to install carpet in 2 or 3 rooms, depending on the price and if you can move furniture.
  10. Should be programmable. These are the kinds of horror stories I hear all the time.
  11. Nope, I was just agreeing with you.
  12. Oh we are still there, it just doesn't show as much as you or I would like. I'd fly a flag on my truck every day but I don't because I have watched too many of them blow off a car/truck and people just keep going. I have a collection of rescued flags sitting in a bag here right now I need to take to the VFW. Heck I stopped traffic on HWY 11 in Athens opne day just to pick one up before it gor run over.
  13. I was in Pikeville, Tn. installing an access control for a chicken plant of some type over there ( seems like it was some kind of experimental setup, but not sure), one of the guys came ou tof the back and turned on the tv and started talking about the accidental crashing of the plane into the first building, and we watched live as the2nd plane hit the other one, I packed up and left right then, I knew we were under attack and I went to "gather the flock" as it were. I spent the next 2 weeks glued to the tv. And it chaps my ass every thime I think about what those people have done to us.
  14. 9 or 40?
  15. All American Guns in Athens. I know it's not Chattanooga or Cleveland but it's still close.
  16. Go buy a new one, it's probally cheaper. Saw a 40C in a pawn shop (if you could call it that, looked more like a gun store) in Cleveland Tn for right 5 bills new.
  17. Depends, Wireless is good where it's needed and installed correctly, I can't see putting a wireless motion up in a sigle story house with plenty of attic space but I see them do it all the time. If you don;t mind me asking, what kind of system do you have?
  18. Is it giving you trouble? if not then NO. OTOH, if it can't be programmed then yes you may have to replce the panel, and keypad but the field devices should be fine unless they are either 1 wireless or 2 addressable.
  19. The things I have heard............ I'll post at the bottom You are one of the lucky ones. Thanks for the vote of confidence No comment, haven't seen one of their systems but I can tell you comcast aint building them, someone else is making the equipment and comcast is just installing. This is a trend Thanks Mike, I appreciate the plug. Now on to the question, ADT now: 1 checks your credit 2 auto deducts from you checking account or credit card 3 does NOT have local service unless you are in a larger city 4 ropes you into a 3 year contract which ties you to them but not them to you. In other words, the contacts says you must pay them for 36 months, you get no warranty (actually you do but getting it fixed in my area is very rare), and they don;t even install equipment manufactured by a company they own, they buy it elsewhere (the reason for that is the company would not sell to them cheap enough). Had a potential customer call me the other day, told me that she called ADt wanting a QUOTE, yes just wanting a price, insisted on getting woman's SSN, ETC and ran her credit before there was even talk of someone coming out to talk to her. Then, Then wanted her bankrouting number and account number. OMG no. When she told them that she was no longer interesed they have kept calling her harassing her. In addition, the even called her daughter and had the nerve to tell her daughter that "her credit is so good, she won't even have to make the customary down payment, they would waive it. To me that's a violation of the privicy act but it's on them not me. Not know where you are I will tell you if you are local I: 1. install industry standard equipment (meaning any alarm tech can work on it). 2. You will pay me for the equipment and installation 3. I give a 2 year warranty, parts and LABOR 4. My monitoring rates are 180 per year if you have a phone line, 360 per year if you don't and a cellular backup will work in your area (and that's only if) 5. I have no contract, my word is my contract, I install your system, get your monitoring started, train you on use of the system. When your monitoring is due in 1 year you get a bill for 180.00 (been in business 16 years and only had 2 increases on this) and if you don;t want it monitored write cancel on the bill and sign it and send it back before the due date. No problem, I'll still work on your system, and if at a later date you decide you want it hooked back up as long as I can hit it with the computer there is not service charge just 1 year monitoring. Also just so you know, Brinks (or broadview now) is owned by ADT also. If you need to speak with me you can find my phone number on my website @ Surveillance Systems If you want to know anything else please feel free to ask, I'll try and get you the answer. I just checked your location, I do service Chattanooga.
  20. Nope. Don't tell the dad. Next time you see the kid, tell him to keep it off your property and move on with your life.
  21. She must have not been hungery. lol
  22. Hadn't seen one with a broken hinge.
  23. And let's be quick about it.
  24. Yep. Good luck. Just don't buy a used one again. They have changed their warranty and now it only applies to the original owner. If you sent it in for the sight problem I'm sure it's right BUT I would check it to be sure.
  25. Don't leave much of a choice in American made guns, or do you strictly buy hi points.
