  1. I do not carry open, however I do carry my firearm in a "carry lock" belt holster with my shirt pulled down over it, if it become exposed I simply cover it back up, No I don't worry about it. Around the house I don't worry about covering up but it's my property. Met a LE off duty Friday night and he had a wilson combat custom in a oc holster. To beat it all he was going into outback , must be nice. I am not worried about someone grabbing my firearm, it in a "carrylock" holster and you have to push a release to get it out (you can yank it out but it take a lot of force).
  2. And he is a bang up guy to deal with.

    My Job

  4. If all schools had teachers and admins armed then there would be less school shootings. If ya ask me (and you didn't) we should be able to carry any where we d well please. I worked for 3 days in a county sheriffs office before someone told me the sheriff would appreciate it if I would go lock my firearm up since they have trustees walking around:eek:. I'm sure they know the law but no one even suggested I was breaking the law (didn't know it at the time), shoot me and a deputy even were comparing carry methods and types of guns. I can understand not carrying into a courthouse or jail but if I have offical business (which I do more often than not) in a county building why do I have to become a victim before going in?
  5. Actually it's been closer to 30 days for the most part. Most everyone I talk to has been getting theirs back quick (well quick for gov. work). I know they have 90 days but I hope they come in long before that date, we need all we can get carrying.
  6. No one knows anymore.:wall::wall::wall:
  7. Looks like you handled it as well as you could. Dang I'll be glad when LE's here get the proper training.:taser::taser:
  8. I sure am glad to see you hanging around here.
  9. I use a Bianchi model 82 size 13b, it says Glock 21 but fits just fine. Model 83 would be a paddle. Hope this helps.
  10. :chill: Good grief, We went from talking about some guy who was treated badly to fighting with each other ON who should get a "free pass". My goodness people, I'm one of the first to say that cops shouldn't get away with some of the stuff they are "accused" of. But, I was stopped 64 in a 45, deputy asked me if I knew how fast I was going, nope, sure didn't, told him I was sorry and handed him my DL, HCP, insurance, and registration. Went back to his patrol car, sat there about 2 or 3 min, came back gave me my stuff back, had me sign a "warning" ticket and told me to have a nice day. Now I was in the wrong and deserved the ticket but didn't get one. Do I want him to stop the next guy and give him a ticket doing the same thing I was doing just because he is a cop and "shouldn't get away with it" or "held to a higher standard" Bull hockey. I'm not saying there are not some instances that he should get a ticket BUT we are all created equal and have the same rights and are subject to the same restrictions and laws. Shoot I used to get mad when I saw a cop barrel through town at 90 with out lights and sirens. Then I got more info (got a scanner and learned about the codes and stuff) and found out that MOST of the time they are responding to a situation that they don't want the bad guys to know they are coming. Do I want to be a cop. NO!! most of the scumbags I know that are arrested around here would never make it to the cross bar hotel. Could I qualify to be a cop. Probably. I'm in as good as shape as most of them in these parts and might even be able to out shoot them as long as I didn't have to carry a stupid glock. No I have a lot of respect for law enforcement in the fact that they HAVE to make sure some scumbag that has just done some terrible act get to the booking station in 1 piece. I do not have that kind of will power. No sir. Especially if a child was involved. Now I'm gonna sit back and get flamed.
  11. This is a good thing. When I went to class it was pretty simple, but when my wife went they actually told the class (I sat in for her support) that you could now carry into any place that served beer & such for on site consumption. Well I went on line and verified that the id10t was wrong and called him to correct him. He said "that's what we were told, it passed when they passed the "carry into a place that sold for off premise consumption" so we were just passing it along". Well I told him he needed to get on the phone to every last one of his "students" and correct himself before he got someone thrown in jail because not everyone will check up on a LE when he say's something. So yes they need to tighten down on some of the classes and make dang sure you are given the correct info, and they also need to re do the DOS video and put it on DVD (it will last longer and have better picture quality), during her class it was so bad some of the voices were muffled and you couldn't really understand them.
  12. I've tried to post the article but my local rag requires me to sign up to get it and I don't know my account number. I'll keep trying. I agree he needs to get a big dog and chew Athens PD a new one.
  13. From What I understand, he was woke from a sleep with banging & such so he grabbed his pistol for protection and once the cops identified themselves he placed it on the floor. So it sounded to me like he did everything right, except falling asleep with the door open.
  14. This is screwy, he was remodeling a mobile home (in a bad part of town) and fell asleep in his chair, mind you with the door open. Cops came by and started banging on the screen door. Guy jumps up gun in hand. Cops identify themselves and he disarms (places the gun on the floor). No wthey have arrested him for ag. assault on a police officer. I'll find the link if I can. Here is my question: Does that not fall under the new "castle doctrine"? I mean it was his house (he wasn't living there, no power, ETC) but in all honesty I think he was within his rights. Now he didn't start any crap, complied completely with the officers. Is Athens Pd becoming JBT'S? Any comments?
  15. Thanks, that helps alot, I can't shoot this in my glock 22 but can in my 40c and my xd40sc. Right?
  16. What exactly does that mean? What is a polygonal barrel?
  17. Question on the quality of this firearm, I was just in Walmart and they have 2 of them on clearance for $250.00 (plus there is a $30 mail in rebate). It has a scope (didn't look at the name brand). Both of them are in 7mm, I don't own a 7mm. first question, is this a quality firearm? Second question is 7mm a good hunting round? I really need another rifle to pry into my safe but if it's a good deal then twist my arm:D. I know some of WM firearms have "substandard" parts, I started to buy one, don't remember the brand and was told (by my local gun dealer (might have been trying to get me to buy it from him)) that the stocks were hollow and kicked like a mule because of no weight.
  18. Would you be looking for any Rc cars & accessories? I got a bunch of stuff left over I don't have the time any longer.
  19. Congrats.
  20. Welcome. Glad to see soemone from close to my neck of the woods.
  21. The problem is that with the new Homeland security stuff every so many years you are going to have to show it again anyway. I do know you have to at least show it once and they do send it in, not to the state, but to homeland security.
