  1. All I have to say is AMEN.
  2. I've been there, I had a very bad case of sticker shock.
  3. Or going through the perp and hitting the neighbor. That 308 is a nasty round as far as penatration goes. Had one in 1980 in Wa state, we used to take it to the quarry and see just how much junk it would go through.

    buying guns?

Ok, I know a vast majority of the people useing a pawn shop are low lifes and druggies, That aside, I worked in one for over a year and there are times when someone that is a good person uses the pawn shop and they really don't understand what is being charged to them. Pawnshops, check cashing places and title pawn shops are nothing more than legal loan sharking. Sure there is a place for them but I don't use them. I have bought a bunch of stuff from pawn shops and probally would if the proper deal presented itself but I won't use one for borrowing. In a years time you would not beleive the drunks, drug addicts, and right out thieves I had to deal with.

    buying guns?

What shoudl be against the law is the way they get away with stealing from honest folk. But no it's not against the law for you to out bid them on an item.
  6. Actually they don't kick bad. I've got one and it's great for it's "intended" purpose (IE close range destruction).
  7. I spent 3 yrs in WA. MT. ST. Helens visited me while I was there.
  8. I've been carrying since I got mine about 5 1/2 years ago. Had something funny happen to me today. I was in a CVS in Pigeon Forge today working on a motion in the Pharmacy and had to reach over my head to mount the thing and therefore exposing myself:rolleyes: directly to the Pharmist. I thought he was going to have a heart attack. He never said a word but you could tell by the look on his face, he turned white as a ghost, I'm lookin for a phone call from the service dept. saying I can't carry while I work in their stores. If that happens I'll say see ya.
  9. Since my "place of work" changes almost daily, Yes I do use it to find my way to work. M ost of the time it's the situation where I'm out in the middle of nowhere and been through 50 back roads following someone or something and decide it's time to go home, hit home, route to and I'm gone. 3 times it has taken me into someone's drive way and I thought once I was in the movie deleverance:death: . I'm waiting on the next map update before I decide to pitch it and get something else.
  10. Don't buy a MIO, it works ok most of the time but after the last update it keeps sending me up peoples driveways, It's frustrating to drive out of town and the GPS to tell you to take such and such road, you take it and it tells you to turn next right and it's a gravel drive or a parking lot that ends at a lake or some crap like that.
  11. Guy's everyone onhere has been accused of having their tin foil hat too tight from time to time but I just received this in my email. http://www.shtfmilitia.com/viewtopic.php?t=1653 I didn't port the other one I received a couple of weeks ago. I thought maybe it was a joke (close to April 1 if I remember correctly). Not sure where he gets his info but Dang.
  12. Well I hand over my permit when I hand over my DL, and if he asks if anyone is armed then I will tell him but if he don't ask I'm not tellin. 1st, I am not (almost never) a passenger, if I am in the car I'm driving. 2nd I assume that if I hand the LE my DL and permit he should know I'm tellin him I got mine:D, 3rd, if it goes as far as him asking me if anyone else is armed then I will inform him to the best of my ability the case. If he asks someone else in the truck if they are packin then I'll leave it for them to answer. Me? I want the LE to know I am armed and that I have a permit for it, the last time I was drawn down on was in 1979 at the flight line at Fairchild AFB Spokane, WA. a buddy of mine was a nav aid and was on call and got called out to the filght line, well the fellow forgot to clear with the tower before crossing the flight line. Next thing I knew there was about 30 SP's (Air forces version of cops) with their fully auto m-16's trained at our heads. Thought I was a goner that day for sure.

    New Carbine

I've got 2 with the glock 22 grip. My son has one with the Beretta grip.
  14. Oh I know, I was just making fun of the fact that someone like the sue word too much.
  15. Yep I smell another law suit. "dang cop harassed me since my tint was darker than he liked":drama:
  16. OK so you beat me to it.
  17. that's what I figured. Guess I'll try my hand a cerma coating.
  18. I have just aquired 2 revolvers that I want to get refinished. 1 is a Charter arms 38 undercover, lock up is good but needs bead blasting and re blued or another type of finish. the other one What I thought was a nice cheap 32sw top break turns out after getting cleaning on it and getting most of the cheap black paint off of it is an Iver Johnson 32 top break:eek:. The lockup on it is fairly tight as well but is in real need of bead blasting and refinishing. They were both so dirty that I knew the first was a charter arms but only because of the wood grips with the charter arms logo on it (until I got it cleaned up a little). Oh by the way, gun scrubber takes cheap paint off ANYTHING:D. Now I have a hobby blaster and some real fine material that I could do it with but I AM NOT taking these 2 apart enough to refinish them completely. Looking for someone in East TN to do the work, any suggestions?
  19. I have a strange situation with my wife, she stolre my keltec p3at when she got her permit, didn't like how it shot, "hurt her hand", so I bought her a "lady Smith" in 9mm, shoots it fine likes it but I can't get her to carry it for the life of me. N ow "most" of the time she is with me but once in a while she goes out alone and unarmed and I can't get her to under stand that then is when she NEEDS to be aermed.
  20. I'm pretty sure no offence was intended, it was a reference to the fact that only in the south IE "redneck" would you find 4 peoople in the same car all armed and carrying. If you think about it it's pretty funny and cool at the same time.
  21. Ok, my place of business is where ever I am, I install alarm systems and my "place of business" changes almost daily. Does it apply to my situation?
  22. Your sick man, you can never have enough guns, now go buy one and forget this silliness that you have enough.
  23. True, I have met a few that were on a power trip, at least thet's the way they talk in normal conversation. Lucky for me I haven't had to deal with these while during the course of a traffic stop While I agree with what you said, if he wants to act like a power mad fool then he will probally have his supervisor to deal with, because that's the first thing I'm gonna do is ask for the super. Crap I almost spit my coffee all over my computer. You really are going to have to warn me when you are going to do something like this.
  24. Rabbi, This time I think you are wrong, If they ask you then you HAVE to tell them, but not before.
