  1. Best car I ever owned was a 70 Cougar XR7, Sister bought it used and the motor had been doped up so they got about 6 months out of it before it started acting up. She was tending bar down in FL and one of her customers rebuilt it. I later found out he owed his own racing team. It was given to me in 1988 and at 100mpr it would raise the front end up if you stomped it. scared the crap outta me.
  2. You that old? LOL
  3. All correct.
  4. 1st, I agree on any animal that acts in a threatening manner on my property. 2nd, straight from a deputy shrieff's mouth "Tn has a leash law, if the dog comes into your yard and bares it's teeth then you are in your right to protect yourself. Do NOT wait until a child has been hurt on your property by this dog" He told me this when I had them called on me for peppering some pit pups. Finally broke the parents from coming over and starting crap and then I come home and find 4 or 5 pups on my front porch, harassing my snake controllers. Went in the house, got my 22 H&R revolver loaded with 9 rounds of rat shot and proceeded to explain property rights to them. They got the picture, never saw them again (heard them for the next 2 hrs though). Wasn't long before the owner got put in jail for killing this guy and setting his house on fire to cover it up. I have a co2 bb pistol I run regular dogs out of the yard with. Works for most. The pits I don't even bother trying, I take em out with my 40S&W carry or if I'm close enough to the shotgun I see if I can get more than one with a shot. Don't get me wrong, I love animals, I keep 9 to 12 cats constantly, I feed them just enough to keep them out of the neibors trash, that way they hunt. I have come home once to 5 tree rat tails laying on the front porch.
  5. Mine was a 1971 Ford Maverick, 3 speed on the colmum, straight 6. Learned to drive in the ice and snow of Washington state in it.
  6. Those suckers are hard to open in a pinch. I bought 4 of them and have given all of them away but 1.
  7. Might have been luck the first time, but after that he was prepared for what he was forced to do. I can only hope if my time to be in his shoes I can preform as well.
  8. Too late for that. It's been rebarreled in 22 mag already.
  9. But, but I thought you were bullet proof. All my child hood dreams dashed in a second.
  10. Update: Received my 22mag rifle in today. Frank Smith rocks. Also keep him in your prayers. He has been in the hospital, don't know what is wrong. So Remington will replace your 17hrm 597 with a 22 mag 597. Correction: They converted mine to 22 mag. Even though they said it could not be done.
  11. Mike, Your a good man. I hope you are able to go visit with your grandchildren as much as I know you would.
  12. To honor the men and women that died during that attack (no it was not a tragedy it was an attack). I'm changing my avatar.
  13. Do tell. Sounds like an interesting story behind this.
  14. I am telling you that it is that good. But I think I'd wait for about 3 weeks before ordering, they are coming out with a striker plunger thats rounded to finish taking up the awkward feel of the trigger.
  15. and here is a link to the thread on the sear. http://mp-pistol.com/boards/index.php?showtopic=23455 It's long, but you can see how much was put into doing these.
  16. This Apex Hard Sear for S&W M&P Pistols [MP-HARD-SEAR_ZC] - $29.95 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce You remove your sear, put this in it's place, adjust the take up on the trigger bar and it's like a whole different gun.
  17. You are goning to love that 45. Once you get tired of the"mushy trigger" I can tell you where to get 1 little piece that will improve it 1000%. Take the trigger to a crisp clean break. I've got 4 M&P's and love them. Oh and congrats on the big D.
  18. I would like to make a suggestion. Adopt the same method that a group I belong to does. 3 locations, 1 west, 1 middle, and 1 east. Rotate them so everyone has the opportunity to attend. While I missed out on the DEC show I was planning on attending but work got in the way. I'll crawl back under my rock now.
  19. I bought a set of laser grips from a member here, unknown to him the left battery tab was apparently broken when he received the grips. I call CT, explained that I had a set of grips, date code Feb 09, that the left battery would NOT stay in place. Asked me if I could slide the battery in and put the grips on while holding the battery (they are for a M&P full size). That is a strict no, can't do it with my fat fingers. The gentleman I spoke with said "ok, lets get youa new set out and you can return the old ones in a prepaid package" Talk about great service. CT rocks.

Not normally, the "do it yourself" kit from sam's is what most homeowners need. about 1/3 the money or even less.

I am willing to help "tweek" anyone's alarm system here. Most can be done through keypad programming but even if you just let me know what kind you have I can tell you what to tell your alarm company you want it to do. Most of it's built in and they only turn it on if you ask for it. Don't let them charge you for the "service" it's built in for the most part. These alarms can do some neat stuff if opened up.

Pm me or contact your alarm company, tell them you want the alarm to "auto arm" at a certain time of the day. Some will even do it on a "period of inactivity" , say your son is walking around the house the alarm stays off, but once he leaves the house and forgets to arm the system it would arm in say 15 min or 30 min. Also get a shock sensor for the safe, that way if they get in to where it's at without tripping something the first strike would set the alarm off.
  23. Well if your ever over this way I'm serious about the toadstool leathers, Mine is a 150 gal and the only thing I have to worry about is evaporation. I got a couple of small toadstools that would look good in that tank.
  24. It's a legit program but what it does is unknown to me.
  25. Your tank looks a little bare, I've got some toadstool leathers that would look great in it, (that is if it's a salt water tank as it appears to be).
