  1. Just dug out an aluminum slingshot I put away as a kid. I started looking for flat bands with the pouch and found out all of them have gone to the tube, like Wrist Rocket. Has any one seen them for sale at a store? I know I can get them in EBay or make a pair from a sheet of rubber but would rather walk in somewhere and pick them up. Things change in forty five years. Thanks Will
  2. Same plan and mentality as TN Gun Free Dining Bunch, get one and keep chipping away.
  3. Not a lot of it,like to keep a room open and uncluttered. Still what I think was a good price for a 35 mile move across town safe included, and when you use Pros they get a lot more into a truck than I would.
  4. Two bedroom condo, outside stuff and room to spare.
  5. Thanks all safe House was lowest@  $375 and West End Lock was highest at $500  I ended up finding a local mover that did the safe and a 16" truck full of contents of home for $345 Total, they were licensed, bonded insured. This was across Nashville three hours .
  6. Anyone know any? Thanks Will
  7. I have not seen a  S&W 64 under $400-$450 in years and seldom see them now. I was in GT Distributors  in Roswell GA which connects to Chattanooga TN  and the had a case full for $319 The one I looked over was in good shape with lockup. The  salesperson said they were trade from local Parks&Rec Police.  They also had tons of S&W M&P .40 Atlanta Police trades for $299 with three mags New to like new condition, seems Atlanta PD only had them a few months and hated them and they went to Glocks. If you buy a pistol there they run it up the street to a shop in TN and transfer for fifteen dollars plus your $10 tics.
  8. Last show was April ,normally not a hot humid month. Why won't they fix it?  Cheeep?
  9. Last Summer only a few of the air units  were working for the whole building,a few of us rented a table for the weekend and packed up and left buy two pm on Saturday. I lost about 10 pounds and it was only about 90 degrees and no air moving with the other side of building worse yet. If you have been there before you know to get in at open and leave by ten. it has been that  way the last few years, doubt it it fixed yet.
  10. They also have a Glock Armorer at each match and they will put gun back to new springs and all free of charge. Your GSSF Membership will also allow You to purchase M1 Garands and Ammo shipped direct to Your house from the   CMP.
  11. Great fun shot first time a couple yeas ago,and now check for one on my way to other cities to shoot in if driving. A couple of things for new shooters ,bring 100 rds ammo per event. You may not need it all but have it and another 100 per another event. Try to bring at least 3 mags ,one will do but three will save You a lot of time.   Sign up for all three stages in the one event right away and get on the board it will keep You from waiting for people that signed up after You.  First time questions ask the person behind or near You and they will fill You in on best way to do it.  Bring about three mags worth of ammo and You can shoot the practice plates for a couple dollars, great practice before You start event or while waiting for next stage. Bring cold water food ,hat@Off Spray. Have fun.
  12. You can also get the smaller, lighter weight ,thinner, single stack Model 42  it is just a shortened 9mm cartridge.
  13. Part of their marketing plan. They just finished the new plant in Smyrna that allowed them to make this gun in United States and if it came out in 9mm the .380 sales could have been poor, so with orders waiting for rest of 2014 it looks like they will make it in .40 next year to meet demand for LE wanting it as a backup. Then the 9mm and demand will be high, and final it will be offered in .22 caliber. All marketing.

    Stupid Glocks

Glock only matches put on by Glock Factory all over US  ,should be one nearby .  Easy to shoot in and entry cost is not much. They give away Glocks of Your choice for winners and random,so You can come in anywhere and win. Info on GSSF
  15. My take on it from going to many and talking to the dealers and promoters is the promoter is only making money on Oct-Nov-Dec Shows unless something has happened (election, shootings) but they have to run them every month under contract to keep the building. The vendors buy tables when the newest item comes out then is out when competition gets cutthroat.  There are also a few older vendors doing it as a hobby.  Like any business somebody is making money or they would have been over years ago and that is @$60 per table+gas+food+hotel  as some people quit going a lot of new ones take their place. They will be around  unless something Federal put them out.
  16. Have had this problem with new Galco before,Galco will tell You to spray it wet with silicone spray and put holster in it for two days. Called back and talked to a customer service supervisor and they said once in a while one gets out tight and there is nothing you can do to make it fit. They had me mail it back covered postage and sent a new one.
  17. I never liked them or the way they felt in my hand. I had a relative leave his at house for a couple years and said shoot it and I did. I could not get a group going or get the hang of it. A lady police officer knew I had it and her dept was thinking of going to them and She wanted to try it out and shot a jagged hole in bullseye at 20 yds so I knew it was not the gun but me. From then on I seen the trigger pull was unlike any other and once I got that down in a few minutes have never seen a reason to own anything else in centerfire.
  18. Academy had them for years @$25 and just jumped up ten dollars and it looks like others have increased also. At the large shows someone always had police trade ins for $12-16 dollars and have not seen that in a couple years. I think most people that have  extras are holding on to them waiting for the next event that will put the up to $60 overnight, thus not many used ones around. Still better than other lesser guns ,Ruger,Hk,S&W,Colt,Sig,&FN I did get a surprise on Glock Mags last month as I was trying to buy some used G-23 mags and told the guy I did not want any of the old  U top non drop fee mags, and he said You won't be getting any because they sell on internet for  around  $75 because people in Mass. can only legally own those.
  19. The stolen check is on their background check and is free to the as many as they want to check ,they "shouldn't" be charging for it. Most any FFL can and will do it for free.  I have bought a couple used but had them run for peace of mind. Have a neighbor that had been a serious collector for the last thirty years in Mid TN and started to thin out his collection. all bought private sales at local gun shows and ads.  He turned them over to a gun shop to sell on consignment a mix of longuns&handguns 35 total.  All went through T.I.C.S fine.   He then did 5 more and three came back as stolen, and he was out them.  Unless You know the person and know they bought it new it is hit or miss.  If You ever had to use a gun and it came back as stolen have fun with that.
  20. No need to pay dealer $10 anymore they all now have the ability to run it through T.I.C.S for free, most will do it if not busy and I have seen it come back in a minute or two. If it shows stolen the State has already notified the nearest LEA to go pick it up and take a report.
  21. In TN only one way to do it without You losing gun or money. He has to go with You to nearest Police Office/Sheriff Dept or most dealers will run free background search and have it run. If it comes up stolen he is the one out gun and gets to explain where he got it.  If its ok then pay him and get the copy of it run through T.I.C.S  ,this way if someone turns it in stolen a year later at least You have paper showing You had it ran at purchase. You would still lose it but previous owner would have to give statement to police.  Always a chance buying a used gun.
  22. If You can do it it is best to go on a weekday, only a few people there. Sat. Sun has the big crowd but still OK . Cost is $90 and still a bargain if You have nowhere to shoot. See above for days closed.
  23. Any local PD will do it for free, have to have it with You in a case and notify front desk when You walk in.  All  FFL'S can do it for free also and most will if they are not busy only takes a few minutes. Ask for copy of returned report for Your records. If it is stolen database will notify Police and dispatch to pick up. It is better to find out now so You do not get charged for something later if You use it and it is run then and shows stolen and used in a homicide. Also a good Idea to run again a couple years later in case the person did not miss it for some time and turn it in then. You now have proof where it was not stolen when You received it if You kept report copy.  If stolen You may have a Civil Claim if You know the person You Bought it from.
