  1. Yes starting last Summer this became law and is posted on IL. State Police Website. It ticked off a lot of IL. Residents at the time because they had to wait another eight months before they could get their carry permits, but out of staters were able to carry in auto but not them. From day one IL was Police only carry state and had no mercy on anyone and went out of their way to catch you. Still no out of state permit for TN and no way to carry outside of car. It beats stopping in KY to unload and lock up gun,but will not spend a penny on gas or food until they are ok with our permit.
  2. Just a few facts from a previous pistol theft recovered. If Ins. paid for it,you can never get it back. They own it and want it destroyed. If recovered in Metro min. of six trips to have signed off Court, both attorneys,Back to DA after six months, back to Da&attorney, court after six months, also  property room and background will be run. If I had not worked downtown it would not have been worthwhile. If recover many places such as out of state,Memphis, certain counties it will not be returned, but destroyed.
  3. Hardly ever see them anymore. Good sale on  870 Wingmaster& Police Magnum's . Pictures on site. www.summitgunbroker.com
  4. I think I will pull the trigger and get one. Thanks all.
  5. Have been out for a while, anybody have one? like it?  The whole trigger group comes in a nifty plastic cube with holes cut in it so you can cock and fire to try out.
  6. Just got a flier in mail from RK,Two shows this Fall in two buildings. Looks like he is trying to put Goodman out who is on life support already. Is Mayor Dean gone by then where they can do away with five dollar parking?
  7. Two things never a problem   1-Hoppes#9  bbl/wire brush-action wipe down and wipe out all #9       Rem Oil lube whole gun and wipe all oil out.   The key is wipe all out,and there is still a film left behind and that is all you want.  Twenty five years of problem free shooting with this method from an old school S&W Armorer whom showed me.
  8. Thank You ,I will try. Do all the criminals think just because Boston Police and others have their hands tied and are on a self imposed slow down, that Metro and Middle TN are doing the same? Hope the Summer gets better and not worse.
  9. What the H"ll is going on? Four in Donaldson within a couple hours,Four over Memorial Weekend,Neighbor Hood Stores And Gas Stations robbed every night of the week. In thirty years of Metro Nashville I have seen a lot of bad,but every day and night. Most of these happened in not bad parts of town. Nashville Area is out of control. More Undercover Police Operations?,I don't have the answer.
  10. Welcome, you found the best place in TN to ask gun questions. Most of the folks I know use Triune Saddle /Gun Shop just a short hop from Franklin for transfers other than that the only thing you have to look out for is the  Punctuation Police Person on this site as you will only receive on warning from him!! , and it will cause nonstop snorting your soda out your nose.
  11. Revolver is still the best house/car gun as you can leave them loaded and not touch them for four years with no worry of the mag spring going weak. I have  seen the best auto ever made (Glock) fire entire fifteen round mag after a year loaded, but I would not take that chance and load new mag every few months.
  12. Do like the old duffers do,borrow a wheelchair and tie off about nine long guns on it.
  13. Lost two pistols in a Cheatham CO break in about 1995 before I owned a safe, one recovered a year later from a Nashville crack house raid. About six months and eight trips to Court,DA,Attorney,PD I got it back. I have several friends with stolen guns go to next local gun show and recover some traded on floor. One got back 7 of 8 at a Nashville Goodman Show and the were on third owner in a week and were able to go back to original thief. They rolled it with a bunch of other arrests and he go a whopping six mo probation. Show in Boro this weekend and they may let you sit with gun checker at front door.
  14. Well if previous CMP (DCM) used to ship them to your home for $17.50  it may run $20-$25 now. DCM pre 1968 pulled the nice ones out of Army stock and you were allowed one in a lifetime,i still run across them now and then in box with paperwork. They only bring about half of one that was not run through rebuild. I talked with one of the Managers at CMP about 12 years ago and the take everything offered to them and have a warehouse full of Thompsons,M14's The 1911's with almost no chance of ever selling to public, but they will not let then get chopped. Most or all of the Carbines@Garands have been returned to CMP with not many out there.
  15. 12 ga Mil Grade Buckshot from WM  Try a box or two of the five round box before buying a large box. We had 10 rounds to test at range and we were lucky if one pellet would hit the paper plate at 20 yards and  almost as bad on larger target. Winchester&Federal would put most or all 9 rds in plate. It was fired from 870 Riot with standard cyl.bore.  Have never seen anything spread like this. This was all standard buckshot tested, the low recoil LE Buckshot will stay much tighter.
  16. WM at 100 Oaks Nashville has two shelves toda full of .308 at rollback price. Had a Debt Mgr tell me last week that Perfecta Brand never sold as it was priced about same as Federal and others and this was to blow out the brand never to stock it again. Sounds about right as when the .40&.223 was gone it was gone.
  17. Their last show was in the small flea market part of the building that had poor lighting and no air. They are moving back to the original part of the complex with better but still crappy air and lighting. As comment above it is still only decent show around.
  18. RK claims they got the original (nicer) building back.
  19. Closing on first full day of Park Carry, anyone done a google search to see if any shootouts in TN Parks?
  20. Now for a couple days of fun reading lefty comments in the Tennessean.
  21. Will

    My new Glock 43

Do not know why picked up my BL 43 (Austria) but my 42 (GA) was five month wait.
  22. White/Black don't matter, what it will come down to is suspect was in possession of a Taser by dragging it with him as he ran and could of used it at some point to get gun off officer. I am not saying it was right but rule of thumb if suspect has weapon they get shot. The murder charge will be dropped and riots  will start.
  23. Today& tomorrow @ Franklin Cool Springs Marriott -Lot of older guns and stuff -Hours and price on their website.
  24. You will want to check IL law it it reads like ours  NRA in Indy it was OK for permit holders to carry in Convention Center ,but not for me because at time we could not carry in our CC and TN law reads we must abide by our law when out of state, which means no carry in our CC then no carry in their CC another example is TN no carry while sitting at bar drinking, but FL IA,others it OK but we have to follow TN law when out of state. Your doing good checking out laws ahead of time to keep out of trouble. I am glad we can now carry loaded in car through IL, ISP was bad for pulling over out of staters hoping to get a chance to toss carand find a gun..
  25. Sounds like a lot, until Bloomberg drops fifty million at a time  to defeat NRA and other wealthy anti-gun people  doing the same. With 80 million gun owners in USA and only 5 million NRA members  it is more of an uphill battle than it should be.Time to pass some of the blame to gun owners who sit by and do nothing. The NRA can only do so much with their funding.
