Aguila 12 Gauge MINISHELL - Double your capacity?
Will replied to Ronald_55's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
The Remington-Federal Low Recoil (Police Loads) that you can now buy anywhere have almost no felt recoil, same with their slugs. Tested some and 00 Buck will go through 1 gal water jug then halfway into a very old thick phonebook. -
I leave a copy of law in my car as i go through IL. ,it might save you a lot of time as an "uninformed officer" puts you in cuffs as he checks it out.

Your saying that people buy other makes of guns now that Glocks are on the market??

Posting some info on New Glock Gen5 after talking to a Glock Factory Rep Today, not trying to turn this into a I hate/Love Glock thread. Was told the new features will include a match grade bbl&trigger and longer recoil spring to cut down recover time. They will also have flared magwell and no finger groves. He said they are going to let FBI and Indy IN get the bugs out before sale to public, said some Indy PD are able to hit steel plates at 100 yds every shot. Kidded him that Glock equipped most every PD in Nation with .40 and now will have them going to 9mm ** Marketing Genius** Price is to be same as Gen4 And Glock has lawsuit on Army Trials on Sig as they did not have to go through testing. I may get a 19 and have always liked Sig 229 and Beretta 92FS

Just drove over the Dam and seen shore lined with fishermen on East Side. They are letting water out and Stones is full over steps instead of knee deep trickle. Was there about fifteen minutes and seen quite a few pulled in Hybrids 5to 12 lbs Stripers 4-5 lbs and one guy pulled in his limit of two Paddlefish and left.

86,000 M1 Garand Rifles to return from the Philippines

For clubs to join CMP lists many. Glock GSSF is one and you can shoot in their matches. I joined one in GA for $15 dollars ,do not even know where it was. Net search will help. -
Chance to buy an older 1911 - Looking for feedback
Will replied to MemHeli's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
For the most part looks correct. Finish may be original. Colts were serial numbered to slide from about 1938 To early 1943 ,not WWI era. Grips seem to be original. Mag should be unmarked two tone. To give a price on these they have to be stripped all the way down. A couple things that may make them near worthless is any alteration that can not be corrected, cracked frame/slide. Oversize bushing put in one of the grip holes from original being stripped and two dozen other things. Barrel should be correct and not much of a problem if dark, pitted or shot out as this was al corrosive ammo back then. You are in luck TN Military Collectors is in Cool Springs at The Marriott this Fri& Sat. Five bucks to get in,ask for Scott Gahimer ? Gehimer/ Table he love to take them down and tell you all about them. I am pretty sure all 1911 WWI slides had front sight milled into them unlike WWII which were replaceable. If Scott is not there several other experts will be. Cool Gun Site.com will have photos of correct bbl,and small parts. Ballpark $ If Boogerd $300 if mostly correct with no alterations $1200 All correct $1600-$1900 Get it looked at.Good Luck Yours was made in 1918 on the last big run when most of them were made so it is most common gun. -

area-nashville Did anyone go to the Trump rally in Nashville?
Will replied to jgradyc's topic in Events and Gatherings
Yes,got in line at 3PM and did not realize it was a mile long as you could not see because it was wrapped around a couple streets. When we did all see at 5PM we were not even close only a couple people left. At 6:30 we were still a block away and trying to figure out the math with the RNC Ticket Giveaway. So if 10 thousand already in and another 7-8 thousand still in line did they just give tickets to anyone asking instead of a cut off? We could see a few extra to make up for empty protester seats but no cutoff? Never got near it but got to meet a lot of great like minded people so kind of made up for it. Seen a large amount of Pro Trump Hispanics there, and on leaving a small handful of protesters. Got home cold and tired and watched Nashville CH 2 News and true to form headlines Two Thousand Protesters and a couple hundred waiting in line with tickets. Local Fake News. -

Remington 870 Parts Question -Nashville Area
Will replied to Will's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Found parts at local gunsmiths, they will sell spare parts as long as it is something as common as this. i would rather see it in front of me than order it from eBay or such. Thanks all. -
My first one was a like new Inland. It started to jam after a few hundred rounds so my first venture into cleaning one. Found out is was dirty with carbon and dry. After shooting them often I found out, clean them every 700-800 rounds or every time you use Augila Ammo sold buy CMP ,it is dirty crap. Do not use grease anywhere unless you going to war,mud &firing hundred of rounds a minute. Grease will attract dirt and burnt powder. Wipe off all extra oil after cleaning. Removing and assembling bolt and slide can be tricky, watch a Utube Vid on this. Complete strip and clean is only needed first time and then about every two years. Hoppes, bronze brush& and oil are all that is needed in between full cleaning

Remington 870 Parts Question -Nashville Area
Will replied to Will's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
That was my plan but tube is completely collapsed. Was going to Dremel it out. I took it to my gunsmith who is also Remington Armorer to have him remove nut. He found that the nut had been cross threaded and over tightened. He tried everything to remove it but it was now totaled. He cut the tube so I cold get my handguard back safe. Thanks -
Anyone know of an area parts dealer for used 870 parts? While working on a 12 GA for-end tube assembly a couple of idiots put a crease in it,me being one of them. It is not repairable and now need used tube. I know Police Armorers have boxes of them but are not able to sell to public, and I never get out to Knoxville Shows ,where the large parts dealers go. Remington says law tubes are same for 12 except Super Magnum. Mine is 3" and pre 1985 without flex tap cut or can use newer model with a newer slide assembly block. Tried RK &Goodman Shows and parts dealers no longer go. Thanks For Reading Will

Craziest Trade offer Someone has tried to get you to do
Will replied to Ronald_55's topic in General Chat
Walking around a Nashville Fairgrounds Show about twelve years ago had a guy walk by with a GI 1911,can spot them at 100 paces. I asked him what he was selling and handed me a correct 1944 Ithaca and said he was wanting to trade even for a Kel-Tec 9mm about $250 then. I had one at home and I said how about we walk over to a dealers table and I give you the cash for one out the door? He said no I just want to trade it for one right now??? I scrambled trying to find a used one quick but seen him walk past me about five minutes later with a Kel-Tec. -
Yes thanks for the vid,I had an ex brother in law that used this method when I was a kid and never seen him again to show me this method. It sure would have saved a lot of trouble with two of us cutting the middle of the back an having a pulling contest not to mention the no hair sticks on yje meat. life is much easier with Utube.

All fun but as a lifelong Tree Rat Hunter this target would not do. I grew up hunting them a couple times a week with buddies older than me and they had a rule, head shots only because it sucks to skin them otherwise and ruins a lot of meat. I once shot on in the head and it exited into the shoulder. buddy blew a fuse when we went up to the well where we cleaned them. He said if you can't do better than that don't ask me to help skin them. The limit was six and most were taken under 25 yards. We found certain parts of the woods had the large red Fox versions and they would keep the smaller Grey's out of their area. My Dad who took me as a little kid but had not been out in the woods in fifteen years seen six of them soaking in in saltwater in my fridge and said wow all head shots, lets go in the morning.

History of the right to carry in Tennessee
Will replied to quickbiscuit's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
The first year of the State CCW Permit you were also required to be bonded ,and that ran a hundred dollars extra. A lot of people had the Sheriff Permits at no cost but it was usually political terms to get and keep one as in working on their election campaign when needed or who you knew and they were honored in most other States as well. -
area-nashville Gun Show Dickson any one been?
Will replied to BLACKVANDRIVER's topic in Events and Gatherings
Like any small show hit or miss. Two small buildings ,guns priced over retail. Have seen something nice brought in at times. The best thing about it is the Pawn Shop near the entrance with good guns/good prices if it is still there. -
Good storage is a must, but there is a huge difference between ammo for a rifle and a semi auto pistol. Rifle ammo usually is can be weak and function fine in bolt guns and still have plenty of power to cycle semi autos. Pistol ammo for semi autos is much more touchy and is best to use newer ammo. At the range cheap and old ammo may be fine, but for carry ammo it is best to have near new. The Police change duty ammo every six months to a year for this reason.
