BIL had a collection of them and they went up in size and price. He bought them as an investment after friends told him buy Colts. When he retired and tried to sell them buyers had little interest in them at what they were going for so had to sell at a large reduced price. After that he said he should of had a collection with a pony on it. We shot them and they shot ok but nothing special.

Several of the guys lived on my street hunted but I moved and lost touch with them. You can start with Google search Central IL goose hunts and it will bring up Lodges-Guides -one/two day hunts -prices. Good luck I duck hunted for 30 years on Wis. border and the rare time geese would give us a shot was a big thrill. IL.has a very generous bag limit on geese.

Best to crock pot them in chicken broth with onions and mushrooms as they get very dry. cook the breast only if legs are there leave them out,they are mostly muscle and not great to eat.

All the hunters I know hunt Central IL Cans,Blues,Whites all in one day. Most go for a couple days and use a guide. Even if it is only once in a lifetime trip you can bag a lot of geese. It is close by and a guide and a couple days lodging wont break the bank.
