I stay in Fredricksburg couple times a year. Most traffic is into DC in AM then out. If you think Atlanta is crazy this stretch is 10x worse, nobody drives under 90mph and rush hour it sits for hours then an hour getting off exit. I once sat three hours from my exit waiting on my exit after a six car/semi pilup on a dry sunny day.

Traveling through Illinois with HCP
Will replied to gearyr's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
It is wise to print it off the IL. State Police website and leave in auto for the IL. LEO that do not know this newer law. -
The Monkees’ singer, guitarist Michael Nesmith dies
Will replied to The Legion's topic in General Chat
When oldie groups hit a big demand and the Monkees were doing sell out crowds he wanted no part of it and considered the band a joke. He did a short tour with them after Dave died. One of the side splitting skits I have ever seen is when Sam Kinnison talked about Charles Manson and if he had been listening to a Monkees album instead of the Beatles White Album. Not for kids ears. -
Was at my local WM today and seen Mgmt removing all long guns from display and taking them into the back. Probably pending verdict of Rittenhouse trial. Seen them do this during the murder trial in MN.

Baldwin shoots two on movie set, accidental misfire???
Will replied to TennesseeCamper's topic in General Chat
Ever since the Lee incident there is nothing more controlled on a movie set than the Gun Wrangler and the firearm used. From what I have seen on sets the last twenty five years the Wrangler walks the checked gun to the actor and checked again. The actor is told any clowning and it wil be removed from them and then back to a seperate gun prop trailer and locked away. It is never out of sight for a second. All or most Insurance writers for that that movie has a clause If anyone is injured/killed from live ammo,we do not pay. This is hard for me to belive it could ever happen again. I guess we will hear the story or a whitewashed version. -

Found an old gauge full choke. Thank You for reply.

Three notches and knurled end.

Yes it has what looks like a collar with notches for choke tool and when removed it looks like stainless choke will lift out.

I don't reload but had a short list of items I would pick up for a buddy. Asked the Dept Mgr why no supplies as of late and he said all were dropped to make way for things that they could get.

I have never seen anything but small doves in TN the month of Sept. Mid-late Oct. the northern cornfed doves start coming through, much bigger and nobody dove hunting.

Jusst got back did not see any shooting but only stayed a short while a two leased fields in Wilson Co and they were too crowed for me. South one almost need FWD to get in to parking. Info is on TWRA Wilson Co. they are leased so no WMA permit needed. Last time I hunted in a crowd some kid put pellets into two people on low birds . That was at the old public field behind the Hermitage before it was closed, birds would come in fifty at a time and you could limit out in 15 minutes. I like the Oct&Nov season better as the birds from up North are corn fed and much bigger and nobody Dove hunting. Hunted a private farm in Williamson Co. for years and would get a few now and then, but the opening day I was out of town the group got about 400 birds in a half hour limited out and went home. There was a small patch of bushes that they dove into and would feed and leave under fire, some kind of ripe seed? I seen that happen in the yard one time the mutt got a whiff and dove in and about a hundred Doves flew out.

There is no replacing Phil and I know this may be early but I would hate to see them hurry and get the wrong person if they even keep it going. Johnny B would be OK with Pam Furr but both make better sidekicks. With Ralph Bristol fired I would not want anyother local talent. My pick would be Nikki Goesser. I don't know if she would even want to do it,but if someone here could reach out to her it would be great.

Short answer No, in the 90's a Nashville Gun manufacturing shop got a contract for the from the Federal Prison System to make a special 870 for them (Scattergun Technology) Remington shipped them 870 Magnum and Police Magnums. They would then refinish the gun put on slug sights and anything else requested. Ten or so years later Remington figured we can do the same thing here and cut out middleman and in meantime S T sold out to Wilson, Wilson went on to sue S T because they fudged how many orders they had at time of sale. Wilson went after the civi market with it. I have had both and would take the Remington Factory over Wilson. Fist you get the original finish not the Wilson aftermarket finish. Couple options Buy a Police 870 off GT in Chattannoga or Gunbroker or get a well used 870 and send it to Wilson -see Wilson Steal on their website and for $200-300 returned you have a Wilson. Older Police 870's were marked Magnum then Police Magnum and now Police. They sell only to Police Distributors but you can find new or used ones on the market.

About 12 yo would take . 22 on bikes and ride 5 mi in country to a private dump owned by large factory. It had cool stuff to shoot dumped daily including a pile of garbage from lunchroom and fast as lightning rats. one day we found part of a guard shack dumped with paddlelock still in place. My buddy see too many cowboy movies tried to shoot the lock off and I feel a hammer to chest from the ricochet and was in a daze for a couple minutes from lowley.22 then looked down at my chest in a white T and small spot of blood getting bigger and bigger. Miles from a phone or hospital made my way home and lived, guess it stuck in breast bone and being I did not die I snuck in changed shirt and tossed old one. Never mentioned it as it would have been end of taking gun out.

Drove by it is called High Caliber Weapons+Training, looks like they were moving the range backstops in.Has Facebook but only grand opening info.
-
Got an Email from Apps Training that they are opening a new gun shop at 2611 Lebanon Pk. This would put it across from Green Police Supply/Shpeley Donuts. Looks like it may also be a range. Guess with Buford gone and Const. Carry they are branching out,did not get any other info on it. This is Donalson but GPS is Nashville. Will check it out next week.

If anyone was thinking about getting one for the kids Christmas,Walmart (Nashville Nolansville Rd @Harding has tons of them on clearance for twenty dollars so I would guess all stores should have them. They are a new type with a compass and sundial on stock and in a really kool box with a large green bow on it and Christmas Special on box. Shoot your eye out? not a chance as they come with saftey glasses or always have for many years. Looks like WM sees the writing on the wall and being high capicty and knows they may be on Joe's ban list they don't want to have to turn them in before Christmas.

Well I guess I have to be the one to differ on above opinions. I used him a few times at another gunshop for a few routine things and they were OK,then had a client want an action job done on a Colt Diamondback and took it to him and he said fine can do. Picked it up seemed a little smoother. I get a nasty call this Diamondback only fires single action, will not fire only pulling trigger. Take it back and explain problem and was told "Hey when you get a custom action job it may not fire double action, just the way it is" WHATT ??? well then can you put it back to way it was?? Nope nothing I can for you,now leave. Cost me out of pocket because client was ticked at me. Fast forward found Sam Hoster in Gallatin and now used him 25+ years and never a problem. Sam is a real gunsmith, Estates will fly him all over the U S to check and repair guns for auctions and sales. Burned once, never again.
