  1. Google is your friend... again.... Do you Need to Notify the ATF if you Destroy an NFA Firearm? by National Gun Trusts March 19, 2021 There is no requirement to notify the NFA of an NFA Firearm that you have destroyed. The ATF does however advise that you do for the records. If you choose to notify the ATF of the NFA Firearm that you destroyed, they request that you send them a letter with your information to them alongside supporting documents, pictures, etc showing that the NFA Firearm was destroyed. Silencers that need to be destroyed, firearms that can't be repaired, etc are just two reasons why you might destroy the NFA firearms.
  2. Google is your friend. This from the ATF website: Is a license required to engage in the business of selling small arms ammunition? No. A license is not required for a dealer in ammunition only. However a license is required to manufacture or import ammunition. [18 U.S.C. 922 (a)(1)(B); 27 CFR 478.41]] Last Reviewed April 12, 2022
  3. You're faster than I ever was! The last Harley I built took me more than a year, but then I did the engine, too.
  4. That's one thing about technology that bugs me.... it causes irretrievable failures in things that would otherwise work forever. I'm old, so I didn't grow up with things like built-in range finders, but I'd rather have my scope just be a scope. Same with other stuff, too. I don't want fancy electronic displays in my car, because I keep my cars a long time and I suspect those displays are going to fail long before the engine will, and that the parts will be unavailable in ten years.
  5. Wow, that's a bargain price for someone who wants to start reloading.
  6. Your kidneys aren't going to like that very much. While it looks good, that no seat at all and no shocks are not going to be very comfortable. But the great thing about bikes is that they're pretty easy to customize and one can do what one wants.
  7. I have loved ones in both those places and would consider it a terrible loss.
  8. Shovelheads came from the factory with hydraulic lifters, and I found they worked great. I never understood why anyone would switch to solid lifters with all their noise. But to each his own!
  9. I knew people who depended on overtime to make payments on their cars, trucks, etc. I really had little sympathy when they found themselves in trouble when the OT dried up. But you have to hand it to American marketing; they have a lot of people believing that they have to have a new car, new cell phone, or latest and greatest gadget to be happy. Even within our hobby, there are a lot of elitists who might turn up their nose at a budget firearm. When I was a kid, I often fished with old, rusty hooks and a rusty bolt for a sinker, and I did pretty well. Now you can't catch a crappie unless you have a $200 rod.
  10. The solar flare caused a little havoc with my GPS yesterday. I had to make a trip into Kentucky to a rural address where I'd never been before. The GPS would switch between telling me to turn in 2 miles to .2 miles, and it was consistently inconsistent. But it still had the street names right, thank goodness.
  11. You might try anchoring the trap when you reset it, so that it can't be overturned. I've used those traps for catch and release, and never had any trouble. Well, ONCE I had some trouble when I caught a pole cat. That was a surprise!
  12. I'd never seen so much lightning as I saw for an hour or so last night. I'm just guestimating, but I'd say there was a lightning bolt every three seconds, and a lot of simultaneous bolts, too. No damage here that I know of so far, but it was pretty interesting to see how much energy mother nature expended last night.
  13. Welcome Forrest. I, too, am from the Crossville area. I hope you'll enjoy this forum as much as I have.
  14. I expect you've looked at Facebook Marketplace. That's my go-to when I'm looking for a "new" bike. I've owned a lot of HD's, but I'm done with them. But one great thing about HD is that you can ALWAYS find repro parts. There are a lot of businesses out there to service the obsolete HD market. GL!
  15. My knife arrived today, and like Red333 I'm impressed with it. Easy transaction and the knife was shipped immediately. Thanks!
  16. The thread gage from any tap and die set will give you the info you need, too.
  17. I've used far fewer than expendable, above, but I've had no failures at all.
  18. I'm a fan of Lee Alox. I would think that cooking up one's own recipe would be messy and probably more expensive. Check out the price of bee's wax.
  19. ^^^ My wife and I spent a week driving around eastern Tennessee to see if we wanted to move here. It became notable to us if we drove more than three or four miles without seeing a church! There were places where we saw churches on both sides of the road. We've been here a tad over five years and really like it. But as Fujimo states above, the prices seem to be skyrocketing. I see five acre parcels selling in my area for well over what I paid for my 20. So it goes.
  20. Well, darn it! I wish we were a bit closer. That's a pretty fair price these days.
