You can tell when a politician is lying because his lips move: It's an outright lie that gun manufacturer's cannot be sued. The PLCAA provides protection for gun manufacturers when their products are used by criminals, but certainly not if the firearm is defective or dangerous. The anti-gunners, like Biden and Harris, know that if the PLCAA is repealed it will do grievous harm to firearms manufactures. People with deep pockets like Bloomberg will happily finance suit after suit which, even if they are unsuccessful, will have the effect of destroying gun manufacturer's through the expense of legal defense. Biden also made some scary statements about the 2nd Amendment. "We should also ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines in this country," Biden said. He said "there's no reason" a person would need a weapon that can hold "100 rounds." "We should also eliminate gun manufacturers from the immunity they receive from the Congress," Biden said, referring to the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), a law that prevents gunmakers from being sued for crimes committed with guns they sell legally. "This is the only outfit that is exempt from being sued," he continued. "If I get one thing on my list... give me that one because I tell you what there would be a come to the Lord moment these folks would have real quickly."

I would. I'd probably "work up" brand new loads with it, taking the starting points in my reloading manuals for first loads and paying attention for signs of excessive pressure. I have some really old powders in my locker, and have never had a problem with any of them.

There's little glimmer of a silver lining there. She apparently now sees that firearms can be used defensively, and even admits that she'd use one to defend herself or her kids. I think if more anti-gun folks would take a bit of safety and live-fire training they'd gain a better understanding of our position. Of course I also understand the Hollywood hypocrisy of condemning firearms, but featuring them in unrealistic ways to make big bucks.

We understand we haven't had a lot of products in stock lately but that will change very soon! We should see a large amount of inventory available here in the next couple weeks. We appreciate all of your support and patience! Expect plenty more powder and LOS Bullets. We will also be introducing a new Projectile line here soon offering 223 and 30 cal. -American Reloading They have a fair supply of projectiles right now and some brass, too. A lot of their projectiles are pulls. I just received 200 pulled 338 projectiles, and while a match shooter wouldn't want them, they'll be fine for my purposes.

You have to be quick these days.

I encourage you to do your own research on this question using information available from trusted sources or by speaking with your own physician. There's a LOT of misinformation distributed on-line in forums like this one by people who have an incomplete understanding of the situation. (And virtually any other question, for that matter.)

Status of "Constitutional Carry" in TN.
Darrell replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
While I agree with you, unfortunately, that ship has sailed. The political class is masterful at twisting meanings, confusing the issues, and misdirection. And I must admit, even though I am a staunch proponent of the Second Amendment, I want firearms kept out of the hands of criminals and those who are mentally unstable, which requires some restriction. -

Excellent point! The anti-gun people are very good at taking a nibble here and a bite there. They NEVER give back any ground, and whatever gains they make are simply the new starting line. The pro-liberty folks should probably learn a lesson there and take, as you say, what we can when we can. -
I wear aids, but probably the same as yours. My loss is severe-enough that I need the behind-the-ear style. But they make a world of difference in carrying on a conversation. Like you, Randall, I can't converse except one-on-one, even with the aids in. On top of that, my audiologist tells me that while my hearing is not getting worse, my ability to understand is. There are times when I have to ask someone to repeat two or three times, which can be frustrating for the speaker. The best thing about mine is that there's a blue-tooth interface that connects my aids directly to my phone. With that connection I can talk on the phone almost in a normal manner. Without it, it's a real struggle. But having said that, I prefer life without the hearing aids. There's just so much noise to put up with all the time! It's a relief when I can take them out and stretch out with a book and read in silence. If I weren't married, I'd probably do without them all the time.

H.R.8 - Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021
Darrell replied to GlockSpock's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
As reported on the CNN website today, 3/23/21. Notice that "gun control" has become "gun safety". White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday the White House is considering taking executive actions on gun safety measures and to address violence in communities. “We are certainly considering a range of levers, including working through legislation, including executive actions to address, obviously, you know, not just gun safety measures but violence in communities, so that has been under discussion and will continue to be under discussion,” Psaki told reporters aboard Air Force One. Some more context: Earlier on Tuesday, Biden pressed the Senate to take up gun legislation that the House has passed in the wake of a mass shooting in Boulder, Colorado, that killed 10 people at a grocery store. -

Holy Crappola! That's insane! I wonder if flints are going to go through the roof, too....... -
I don't see what difference it makes if it's a racial hate crime or not. He MURDERED eight people and he should fry.

I did a Google search on the image, and there are quite a few copies out there, none with any detail. Several of the images have headings in the cyrillic alphabet, so perhaps this came out of one of the Eastern European countries. Looks like the pistol may have been a Girsan MC28SA, which I'd never heard of until three minutes ago.

As would I, if it were next door. I do all I can to avoid Nashville traffic, though. -
H.R.8 - Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021
Darrell replied to GlockSpock's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
And yet more: White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is making clear President Joe Biden looks forward to repealing the “liability shields” that protect gun manufacturers from frivolous lawsuits. She's speaking of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms act, which prevents gun manufacturers from being sued when their products are used illegally. Anti-gunners would love to see this act repealed, as it wouldn't be difficult to sue gun manufacturer's out of business. Whether or not the suits are successful, small gun manufacturers would go broke defending against them or, at the very least, would be forced to raise prices to cover that expense. This administration is after our right to keep and bear arms folks. -
I just saw this ad on CL. I do not know the seller at all, but the price is good: https://nashville.craigslist.org/for/d/hendersonville-soft-sheet-lead/7272003270.html

More from Senator Feinstein: The New York Post reports Feinstein is citing “domestic terrorism” as an impetus for the ban. She said, “We’re now seeing a rise in domestic terrorism, and military-style assault weapons are increasingly becoming the guns of choice for these dangerous groups.” The NSSF figures indicate that Americans own nearly 20 million modern sporting rifles, which are firearms that the Democrats categorize as “assault weapons.” Feinstein’s office released a supplemental fact sheet on her “assault weapons” ban, claiming said firearms are “weapons designed for war [that] have no place on the streets of a civilized society.” -
If you go to your county health clinic there is no cost. I have good insurance, but the Cumberland county vaccine station didn't even ask about it. Free at some Wal Marche stores as well: https://www.newschannel5.com/news/walmart-pharmacies-in-tennessee-now-offering-covid-19-vaccine

Very cool! I was driving near my house the day before yesterday and a flock of hens flew overhead. It's amazing that such big-bodied critters can actually fly! They're impressive when going overhead.

H.R.8 - Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2021
Darrell replied to GlockSpock's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The snowball is beginning to roll, folks. Following Thursday’s House passage of a Democrat gun control bill, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) introduced a ban on 205 “assault weapons.” The legislation, called the “Assault Weapons Ban of 2021,” is co-sponsored by 34 Senate Democrats. It would also ban ammunition magazines holding more than ten rounds. -
I've been tempted by the Busa, too.

So far the democrats in the senate are voting in lock-step. There is a small chance that one or two dems from gun-friendly states could demur, but I think that Schumer has a pretty tight lock on his party. Some of the New England states take gun rights seriously, so maybe a senator or two from those states might "defect", but I don't count on it. Georgia, too, is pretty conservative as far as gun-rights go, but those gun-owners voted against both it's senators and they know that. -
Welcome Don. I'm a relatively new member and have found much to like about this forum. I hope you do, too. I've been sorta kinda looking for a nice running GSXR-1000. I assume from your name you're also a Gixer guy.....
