  1. I don't see what difference it makes if it's a racial hate crime or not. He MURDERED eight people and he should fry.
  2. I did a Google search on the image, and there are quite a few copies out there, none with any detail. Several of the images have headings in the cyrillic alphabet, so perhaps this came out of one of the Eastern European countries. Looks like the pistol may have been a Girsan MC28SA, which I'd never heard of until three minutes ago.
  3. As would I, if it were next door. I do all I can to avoid Nashville traffic, though.
  4. And yet more: White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is making clear President Joe Biden looks forward to repealing the “liability shields” that protect gun manufacturers from frivolous lawsuits. She's speaking of the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms act, which prevents gun manufacturers from being sued when their products are used illegally. Anti-gunners would love to see this act repealed, as it wouldn't be difficult to sue gun manufacturer's out of business. Whether or not the suits are successful, small gun manufacturers would go broke defending against them or, at the very least, would be forced to raise prices to cover that expense. This administration is after our right to keep and bear arms folks.
  5. I just saw this ad on CL. I do not know the seller at all, but the price is good: https://nashville.craigslist.org/for/d/hendersonville-soft-sheet-lead/7272003270.html
  6. I guess they'll be coming for my Marine Corps K-Bar pretty soon, too, then.
  7. And immediately after Pelosi implemented that rule she spoke of her role as a mother and aunt. What a load of fertilizer!
  8. More from Senator Feinstein: The New York Post reports Feinstein is citing “domestic terrorism” as an impetus for the ban. She said, “We’re now seeing a rise in domestic terrorism, and military-style assault weapons are increasingly becoming the guns of choice for these dangerous groups.” The NSSF figures indicate that Americans own nearly 20 million modern sporting rifles, which are firearms that the Democrats categorize as “assault weapons.” Feinstein’s office released a supplemental fact sheet on her “assault weapons” ban, claiming said firearms are “weapons designed for war [that] have no place on the streets of a civilized society.”
  9. If you go to your county health clinic there is no cost. I have good insurance, but the Cumberland county vaccine station didn't even ask about it. Free at some Wal Marche stores as well: https://www.newschannel5.com/news/walmart-pharmacies-in-tennessee-now-offering-covid-19-vaccine
  10. Very cool! I was driving near my house the day before yesterday and a flock of hens flew overhead. It's amazing that such big-bodied critters can actually fly! They're impressive when going overhead.
  11. The snowball is beginning to roll, folks. Following Thursday’s House passage of a Democrat gun control bill, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) introduced a ban on 205 “assault weapons.” The legislation, called the “Assault Weapons Ban of 2021,” is co-sponsored by 34 Senate Democrats. It would also ban ammunition magazines holding more than ten rounds.
  12. I've been tempted by the Busa, too.
  13. So far the democrats in the senate are voting in lock-step. There is a small chance that one or two dems from gun-friendly states could demur, but I think that Schumer has a pretty tight lock on his party. Some of the New England states take gun rights seriously, so maybe a senator or two from those states might "defect", but I don't count on it. Georgia, too, is pretty conservative as far as gun-rights go, but those gun-owners voted against both it's senators and they know that.
  14. Welcome Don. I'm a relatively new member and have found much to like about this forum. I hope you do, too. I've been sorta kinda looking for a nice running GSXR-1000. I assume from your name you're also a Gixer guy.....
  15. House Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) vowed on Thursday to reintroduce gun reform legislation, while the House passed a second bill aimed at background checks within the last hour. https://www.infowars.com/posts/feinstein-promises-assault-weapons-ban-hours-after-house-passes-background-check-bill/
  16. The inspector should know of what he speaks, but if I were buying I'd want to make sure that there isn't any abnormally high moisture content in any of the framing lumber above that area of the basement. Was the inspector measuring the moisture content of a concrete wall, or was there lumber there?
  17. Contact Mossberg directly. That's something that they'll repair at no charge to you. You'll probably have to pay shipping to them, though.
  18. And the bill passed in the house today. Chucktshoes makes a good point obliquely. I think one of the biggest attractions of UBC for the gun-grabbers is that idea of a universal registry. With UBC in-place, it's theoretically possible to trace the owner of ever firearm sold privately as well as through a dealer.
  19. Remember that virtually every member of congress is a lawyer, and they've been using the Interstate Commerce clause to legislate things that are not federal in nature for years. They'll surely find a way to exert control, just as they do over a zillion other things in our lives. Congress long ago abandoned the Constitution as it applies to restrictions on federal government.
  20. Bingo! It surprised me that there were a few (not many) members here who seemed to be unconcerned about 2A rights during the past election. I'm not a single issue voter, but the 2A issue is one of my top concerns. Right now the sharks smell blood in the water, and they're circling in preparation for taking the biggest bites they can manage. Democrats see NOW as the best opportunity in many years to pass a wide range of gun restrictions. And we're seeing party-line votes in the Senate that leave me without much confidence that conservatives can withstand the onslaught. The terrible shame, in my view, is that there probably are some things that can be done to make it less attractive for a criminal to obtain a firearm. But we've passed the point that any compromise on the part of gun-owners simply becomes the new standard and that the anti-gunners begin again from that point. NO compromise will ever be enough for the gun-ban crowd, many of whom are entirely uninformed, and therefore I am no longer willing to support ANY compromise at all.
  21. And if expanded background checks are passed, it will embolden the democrats to move forward on a range of other gun-control measures. I believe it's going to get bad, folks. And this from NPR: https://www.npr.org/2021/03/02/972682548/house-lawmakers-launch-fresh-efforts-to-overhaul-nations-gun-laws
  22. https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2021/03/07/democrats-need-a-yes-vote-on-gun-control-from-joe-manchin/ The first paragraph of the story: The background check gun controls which were introduced in the House last week bring back Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-WV) 2013 gun control push and make his support for the current legislation crucial to Democrat success.
  23. Here's a 75 Cosworth Vega with under 3000 miles up for auction: https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-cars/1975/chevrolet/vega/101459720 and another with 40K wiles for $12K https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-cars/1975/chevrolet/vega/101427513 If you actually wanted one, there are some available.
  24. Just an aside- My aunt gave me an old silver dollar when I was born (56, the coin was older but I don't know the date.) When I was 7 or so I took it to the corner market to buy some candy. The owner asked me if my parents knew I was spending it, I lied and told him they did, and he happily gave me a dollar's worth of candy for it.
  25. There are a few listings in the Gear For Sale section of this forum. I did a quick search and see a few with prices.
