  1. I generally stay away from the hotter loads, so I can't say for sure. But the die is infinitely adjustable. I find it works great for taking the bell out of the case, and it would be possible to put a really heavy crimp if that's what you want. At any rate, I've not experienced any difficulty with bullets backing out of loaded cartridges.
  2. I use, and am very happy with, the Lee Factory Crimp die.
  3. Looks pretty normal, huh? Copy it and flip it 180 degrees. The brain is a strange thing!
  4. Wow! That's a shame you had so much trouble finding a GP100 to your liking. I have a number of Ruger revolvers, from Old Army black powder to a GP100 and a couple of Black Hawks. I've been very pleased with every one of them. (None are new manufacture, though.)
  5. Thanks so much, Grayfox, I sure appreciate it!
  6. Looks like an enbloc clip from an M1 Garand. I'm not sure why it would be loaded with empty cases, though. BTW, I'm in the market for a few enbloc clips, but probably not quite so rusty.
  7. I need a small number of enbloc clips for an M1 Garand. Half a dozen should be plenty for my needs. I'm near Crossville, but willing to pay shipping. Thanks!
  8. My first computer was an S100 bus, home-built monstrosity that used an 8" floppy disc drive. My first hard drive held a whopping 6 megabytes, and I thought I would never fill it. It was a full-hight drive, by the way. But hey, I learned electronics when everything used tubes.

    Olympics

Yeah, after I failed to qualify for the 76 Olympics, I pretty much lost interest. I guess that none of us slow milers got invited. Go figure.
  10. I'm looking to replace the rifle scope on rifle with HEAVY recoil. I'm thinking of the Vortex Viper, either in 6 x 24 or 5 x 25. Honestly, I don't do any shooting out beyond 400 yards, but the rifle is surely capable of hitting at three times that distance. My eyes are old and never were all that good. I'm looking for three features. The scope must have a 30mm tube; the mounting system on this rifle is unique and doesn't allow for other size tubes. I want clear glass with a sharp image, but with the compromise of staying well under $1000. And finally, the scope will have to withstand a good deal of recoil without shifting zero. I think that the Viper is probably the way to go within my budget, but I'm interested in hearing the opinions of those who own these scopes, or recommendations of similar scopes I should scope out. (Pun intended.) Thanks, guys!
  11. We bought a Ruger LCR in .357 mag for my 5 foot nothing, 100 pound wife. She just didn't have the hand-strength to rack the slide on a semi, but she's well-able to point and shoot the revolver. We do NOT load it with .357 ammo, though, instead going with 38 SPL. The extra weight of the .357 revolver tames the felt recoil when shooting .38 SPL, and she handles it just fine. Now, she's not going to practice dumping a cylinder and using a speed-loader, but she can put six round on-target without any fuss.
  12. The photographer works for the New York Times and is very well respected. I don't agree with the NYT's political positions, but I do think they're above doctoring photos. The short time profit wouldn't be worth the loss in reputation. I've seen lead-trails in the air from bullets I've fired from handguns when I was pushing the bullets just a little too fast. This is different, of course, but just a bit of moisture in the air can result in something like what happens when vapor forms over the wings of an airplane.
  13. I always enjoyed his comedy. Clean and funny. RIP
  14. Diversity, Equity, inclusion. Wiki has a pretty good explanation here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diversity,_equity,_and_inclusion#:~:text=These three notions (diversity%2C equity,be decoupled in some cases.
  15. You should buy two, just in case one walks away.
  16. This in InfoWars this morning. I take everything I see there with two grains of salt, but I think this is legitimate. I bolded the final paragraph: Jenna Howell of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), complained on Facebook using a meme that Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old Pennsylvania Republican who reportedly tried to assassinate Trump at a rally in Butler, Penn., failed to strike the former president’s head rather than just his upper ear. “Awwww so close,” reads a meme shared by Howell depicting the grim reaper playing an arcade game in which a claw drops a toy made in the image of Trump – see below: Howell works in the FBI’s NICS firearms background check unit, by the way. She holds top secret clearance and is an outspoken opponent of the Second Amendment.
  17. That didn't take long. ^^^^^
  18. My first thought was to wonder if this photo had been manipulated, but it appears on the front page of the NY Times along with comments about the photographer and from an FBI analyst.
  19. Crooks (the shooter) had not yet reached his 21st birthday. Fox states he was a registered Republican but that he'd donated to a leftist organization. I think the press gets a portion of the blame for this assassination attempt. For years they've been telling us that Trump is a fascist, that he's a threat to democracy, and that he must be stopped by any means. Some on the left have actually called for his assassination. We shouldn't forget that a rally attendee was killed by the shooter, and two others were seriously wounded. Hell of a thing!
  20. Absolutely an iconic photo. That picture is one of those once-in-a-generation images that will live long after you and I are gone.
  21. Every American should abhor this situation. Americans deserve a chance to select a president by voting. No one has the right to deprive us all of our right to vote for whomever we wish.
  22. I have 1000 Wolf small pistol primers to trade for either large pistol or large rifle magnum primers. I'm not particular about brand. I'm in the Crossville area and don't want to drive far to meet, but I will be going to Murfreesboro for a late morning appointment on Tuesday the 16th. I drive through Sparta and Smithville to go there.
  23. I liked both of those movies. I even bought Water World on DVD.
  24. My wife and I went to an early showing of Horizon this morning, and we both enjoyed it. There was quite a lot of violence, but it wasn't as bloody as a lot of movies I've seen. A lot less profanity than what passes for normal these days. I'm looking forward to seeing part 2 now. Generally, I get tired if a movie runs for more than two hours, and Horizon ran for about three, but I never got bored and the time passed pretty quickly. It's too bad the nearest theater is about an hour away in Oak Ridge, but at least that theater is clean and has reclining lounger seats. And the matinee tickets are under $7.00/
