Here's how I see it: No matter what or how many gun control laws are passed, it will never be enough for the left. Pass a law banning all AR-style rifles and the shooters will go to what most murderers use, a pistol. Then the next ban will be against pistols. Gun control advocates have been clear that they are taking an incremental approach, seeking to take away what they can this time, and chisel another little piece away later. They expect to eventually get everything they want that way. I think there are already enough restrictions on gun use, and am in favor of prosecution of everyone who violates the existing laws. I think that anyone who lies on a 4473 as Hunter Biden did, should go to jail and be prohibited from future purchases. Use a gun in a crime, go to prison for a long time. Shoot up a school, burning at the stake sounds about right to me. I would probably be in favor of raising the age to purchase a firearm to 21, but then I would favor raising the age to vote to 21 as well. And maybe even to drive. Whatever age is determined to be "adult" should apply across the board, not willy nilly.

Really? You honestly think people on this forum are pretending that these shootings didn't occur? I don't think there's anything, practically speaking, by way of gun control that's going to prevent a motivated murderer from committing one of these horrible crimes. Restricting good people, who aren't going to commit a crime anyway, isn't going to help when some deranged elbow decides to go off like this.

I didn't verify this is true, but it looks right to me!

My taste runs to pocket-watches, as I can't tolerate rings or bracelets. I learned at a young age that it's pretty easy to take one apart, but a bit more challenging to put it together again.

Seems that I recall the Biden administration takin a big bow over fuel prices dropping two cents a gallon several months ago. If they wanted the credit for that. then they get the blame for the current skyrocketing prices.

Please don't throw it in a river or a lake. We already have too much pollution in our waterways.

I took a short ride yesterday after playing racquetball. I rarely ride with anyone else, but one of my racquetball buddies wanted to take a ride, so we did. There was more traffic than I expected, but we were still able to get in some spirited riding through the twisties. Good times

Just click on the user name. In your case I clicked on the "S" and it took me to your profile. Once there you can see a "trader feedback" rating. Click on that, and it will give you details of a user's feedback, and you'll see a tab to add feedback. It's not as intuitive as some sites, but I've managed to muddle through it, so you can.

That's a pretty good point, and it becomes amplified when the government CHOOSES to ignore it's own laws. People aren't prosecuted for shoplifting, the borders aren't protected, etc. Some parents choose to defend their children when the children do wrong. There are communities in which 80% of children are born to single mothers. Moral decline, indeed.

I read a Tucker Carlson piece this morning that made some sense. I don't always agree with Carlson, but in this case I do. He pointed out that when there's a plane crash the FAA goes to great lengths to find out what went wrong with the plane or pilot, and to try to come up with solutions that will prevent a recurrence. He suggested that perhaps school shootings should be analyzed in a similar manner. Right now we have a bunch of politicians who instantly try to take advantage of these kinds of events, note what O' Rourk did right after the shootings. We have a bunch of pundits who offer their solutions, which are normally tied to political beliefs. But there seems to be no attempt to find out WHY these people are doing what they do. Maybe TGO David is right, kids are being bombarded with all kinds of ideas that people like me grew up thinking were perverse. They watch movies in which people are mowed down willy nilly with no kind of emotional toll at all. Video games are filled with violence, rap music is filled with violence. The abnormal has become normalized, so perhaps we shouldn't be surprised at the results.

I bought this Kenwood stereo for my car, but it doesn't have the preamplifier outputs that I need. So it's been removed from the box but never installed. It's in as-new condition. Single DIN format, so it will fit most newer cars and trucks. Includes the wiring harness and instruction manual. I paid $150 for it, asking $100. I live in Crab Orchard and will meet you at I-40 if that's convenient for you, or I'll ship it at your expense.

I walked into the woods today, and came out with three of the nasty buggers on me! Argh, I hate ticks. Fortunately, I found them before they attached, but my skin's crawling even after a triple-scrub shower. And I had sprayed myself pretty liberally with OFF, too.

Howdy Hodgie, and welcome to the forum. I'm a relatively new comer to Tennessee, having moved here 3 1/2 years ago. My wife and I love it here and are happy that we moved. One thing I'd suggest is checking to see if you can get the health care you need in whatever area you choose to move into. My wife and I have been disappointed in that regard. We have excellent insurance, but still have had some trouble finding doctors that meet our needs. I've never before experienced what seems to be common here; being asked to "apply" to become a patient. But maybe I've just had bad luck in that regard, and fortunately we just need routine health care, nothing too specialized so far. (knock on wood) We're lucky that in our rural neighborhood we have friendly, helpful neighbors, And the government here suits us just fine. I expect to stay here until I die.

There IS that pesky Constitution, though.

My granddad asked me to dig one under a shed for him. Now, if my father had made me dig one I'd have felt terribly misused, but I was happy to show my papaw that I was a hard worker, and I busted my hump for a couple of days to get that hole in the ground. My uncle owns that property now, and on the rare occasions that I go there I make sure to admire "my" root cellar, still there and functioning almost 50 years later.

I can hardly believe I'm gonna write this, but that sounds like a decent deal, and I'd probably buy 5K at that price, too.
