I'm generally not a fan of Hondas, but that's one I might like to own.

I'm curious to hear your impressions of the electric bike. So far the magazines seem pretty sold on electrics, but then there are usually full-page ads next to the review. I'm sticking with ICE, but I know that eventually electric is going to be the primary choice for most folks. Like to get on my bad motorscooter and ride, so the 125-150 mile range of an electric isn't gonna float my boat, but for a local commute.... maybe.

I picked up a new-to-me bike this afternoon. Drove 4-hrs each way to stinking Atlanta for a 2014 BMW S1000RR. The amazing thing is that this bike has only 340 miles on it! That's good and bad. Good as I know it's never been thrashed and the paint is perfect. Bad in that it has the original oil and fluids in it. Oil change coming as soon as I can get a filter, and then I'll flush the other fluids soon. Sold my two Ducati Superbikes, so the Beemer is more a less a trade for those two. I'm really jazzed to get the thing out on the road!

sale-or-trade Reloading Room Cleanout - Powder/Bullets/Etc.
Darrell replied to Wiljo05's topic in Gear Classifieds
Dang! I'd take that jug of Trailboss if you were two hours nearer to me. -
Take a look here: https://www.80percentarms.com/blog/atf-final-ruling-2021r05f-complete-breakdown/ It is from a manufacturer of 80% lowers, and I think it's probably quite accurate.

What to do with inherited muzzle loaders?
Darrell replied to ezrydr's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I really enjoy my BP firearms. Did you get any BP and percussion caps with them? If so, consider giving it a shot. (pun intended) As others have mentioned, cleaning them is a CHORE, but it's worth it to me. Nothing like pulling the trigger on a damp morning and being unable to see through the smoke for a second or two. The surface rust you mentioned could be a concern. Again as others have mentioned, they're hard to clean and with surface rust the bores could be in bad shape. Run a solvent-dampened patch down the bore, then follow up with a few dry patches to see if the bores are clean and not-rusted. You can probably unscrew the breech plug from the Knight pretty easily to see what you have. -
Legendary knockout artist Earnie Shavers dies at 78
Darrell replied to The Legion's topic in General Chat
I read somewhere that Muhammed Ali said that Shavers punched harder than anyone else he ever fought. RIP. -
I use my single stage press far more than my progressive. I like being in full control of every step, and I enjoy reloading for its own sake. If I want to load a lot of handgun ammo I'll go to the progressive, but for 100 rounds or so the single stage is fine. For rifle ammo I always use single stage.

I recently purchased the same model shotgun from a different TGO member, and I'm really pleased with it. It seems to have high quality for its price point, and mine feeds and functions perfectly.

Wow, that's a darned good price! GLWS, I expect that will be gone quickly. -
An old man accidentally crashed his car into a very expensive automobile. The owner of the expensive automobile jumps out and confronts the old man and says “Give me $10,000 cash or I will beat you to a pulp!” The old man replies, “Woah, wait buddy, I don’t have that much money but let me call my son, he trains dolphins.” The old man dials his son and as he is about to speak, the owner of the expensive car yanks the phone out of his hand and says “So you train dolphins, well your old man just hit and damaged my car, you bring me $10,000 or I’m gonna beat the heck outta him!” The son answers “Okay, give me 15 minutes and I’ll be there.” In exactly 15 minutes the son pulls up in a jeep, ten men jump out and beat the hell out of the expensive car owner. Meanwhile the son walks over to his father and says “Dad I train Navy Seals not dolphins"

Took my flintlock Kentucky rifle out today
Darrell replied to Darrell's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
As it turns out, it's not legal for deer. I checked the regs last night and a muzzleloader must be at least 36 caliber. Darn it! I'm sure that a well-placed 32 cal ball will do the trick, and I know thousands of deer were taken with squirrel guns in the past. I guess I'll use my percussion 50 instead. Break out that CVA! -
I'm not usually a Georgia fan, but they start out their season against the filthy Ducks of Oregon. I'm hoping that GA routes the zeros. My favorite teams are the UW Huskies and whomever is playing the Yucks. Go Huskies! (Maybe a bit of wishful thinking this year.)

I've got a modern Pedersoli Kentucky rifle in .32 that I've not fired for a few years. I decided I'm going to hunt deer with it this fall, so I got it out and put a dozen rounds through it this afternoon. What a hoot! I'd forgotten both what fun and what a PITA the rifle can be! I store my BP arms with a liberal coating of Thompson's Bore Butter, and apparently I didn't get all of it out when I swabbed the barrel before taking the rifle out to shoot. The first attempt was the proverbial flash in the pan, and a couple of reattempts failed, too. So back to the barn and 20 minutes of cleaning the flash hole and blowing the grease out with high-pressure air. Then I packed as much 4F into the flash hole as I could, and then tried again. Kaboom. But what a pain! It was my error, or course, and one I'll try not to repeat. The rifle is accurate, but it's also really dirty. I have to alternate a dry swab and a solvent swab after every shot. And it took near an hour to clean the son of a gun when I was done. But I'm going to do it again soon. I could cut down the fouling by switching to Pyrodex, but I like black powder enough to make it worth the extra effort.

Not a picture, but kind of fun..... While sitting, raise your right leg, Move your foot continuously in a clockwise circle. Now, while your foot is still circling, raise your right arm. Draw a number 6 in the air with your right hand without reversing the direction that your foot is circling. Betcha can't do it!

I rode from my home in Hebbertsburg to Murfreesboro via Hwy 70 this morning. The forecast said that it was likely to be a dry ride there, but that I'd be pushing my luck on the way home. Sure enough, midway between Sparta and Crossville the sky opened up on me and I was pretty darned wet within a minute or two. It was warm, though, so not too uncomfortable. I had all my rain gear with me, but I never had time to put it on! Oh well, the ride was still fun, about two hours in each direction.

I have a Ruger Precision Rifle in ,308 (along with a couple of others in different calibers) that I really like. They aren't short-barreled, though, and a bit more expensive. It looks as if you've already checked out the Rugers, but if you were tempted by the RPR's it might be worth a second look.

I may be the last American who doesn't carry a phone around with me. When I hunt or fish, I try to forget there IS any civilization. I suppose I'll carry one if there's no alternative, but I'm happier just carrying a paper license and tags.

I moved to TN from WA about three years ago, and I intend to hunt here for the first time this fall. I picked up a copy of the TN hunting regs, but I'm not 100% sure I understand everything. I'm 65, so it appears that I can buy a permanent hunting and fishing license for $49. I expect to hunt deer right on my own land, or maybe on a neighbor's. It looks to me like this will be the only license or permit I need to kill a deer on my own acreage. Is that right? I might like to kill a squirrel or two, too. I share a property line with the Catoosa WMA, and I might want to hunt on that land, too, or at least to use it for non-hunting recreation, specifically I'd like to ride my bicycle out there. It looks like I need to buy a WMA license to be able to do that, right? I was thinking to just buy a type 93 license for $20, just to be able to ride my bike out there even if I'm not hunting. Any insight on that? And the regs say that bicycle access is allowed only through gate access points. I can ride my bike right off my property onto the Catoosa, but the nearest gated access is miles away. If a guy is just "scouting", with no weapon, would that gated access rule apply? Finally, I see NOTHING at all about transport tags, except that tags are required. Does another fee apply for tags? Thanks, guys.

Go back to your physician. The guys here seem to know a lot about firearms related stuff, but I wouldn't go to us for medical advice.
