  1. Sixty bucks a pound?!?!?!? Holy crap!
  2. Thanks guys. I took Fujimo's advice and put the two new tires on the rear axle and the two used ones up front. I've now spent about $600 over the past week on trailer tires, none of which were worn out, all of which had aged out. The two I just replaced were about 5 years old. The four on my dump trailer were original, I think, so I can't complain about those.
  3. I have to replace two tires on my flatbed trailer. Both the right-side tires went bad, are out of round, and one of the two has a tread separation. The two on the left side are fine. I think what happened is the two on the left were getting the evening sun for a few years. I'm going to go and get the two new tires today, but I wonder if makes sense to have one new and one used tire on each side, or to put both new tires on the right side. Maybe it makes no difference at all, the two on the left are not badly worn. Any informed opinions? I guess I need to choose a better parking site for my trailers or get some of those tire covers. I really don't use my trailers often, but I need them from time to time.
  4. The couple of TGO members that I've met during transactions have been great guys. A breakfast or lunch meet-up might be fun.
  5. It would be great if they catch the SOB's, but don't hold your breath. I HATE theives!
  6. He also had a ham radio for communications. I had the same model Eico HF rig for many years, though I now forget the model number.
  7. Bama has long received a little extra in their ratings because of their history. Of course they've fielded great teams for a very long time, but rightly or wrongly, their tradition carries some weight with the voters.
  8. I installed a LaRue MBT-2 S (Thanks Erich!) into my AR-10 today. I've not live-fired it yet, but my dry-fire impressions are good. The original Mil-spec trigger was rough and had a pull-weight too high for my taste. The LaRue is smooth and has a reasonable pull-weight. I'm hopeful of finding some time tomorrow to give it a real test.
  9. Yeah, they ARE loud! But I've had no problems ejecting spent cases.
  10. I have a Ruger Blackhawk in 30 Carbine, and I love it. It's an accurate handgun round. On thing I've noticed, though, is that sometimes my reloads won't chamber in the Ruger but they will in the rifle. I solved that by buying a Lee Factory Crimp die which solved the problem. BTW- you saw one on Facebook? They have a prohibition against selling firearms, don't they?
  11. It's hard to believe Georgia lost again today. OH! I hate the filthy ducks.
  12. I want to replace the trigger in my DPMS AR-10 .308. It's a decent rifle apart from the trigger, which is awful. The rifle was inexpensive, so I don't want to spend half of what I paid for it on a new trigger, but the LaRue products seem to get pretty good reviews and are priced reasonably. Has anyone here installed a LaRue trigger into their rifle, and what do you think of it? I'm looking at the two-stage trigger. Thanks!
  13. I watched him pitch and win at Dodger's Stadium. He was something to see. RIP.
  14. Welcome! I'm relatively new to TN, too, having arrived here from Washington six years ago. You'll enjoy the group!
  15. But the horrible, awful, terrible news is that the filthy ducks have moved up to.... I just can't write that.....
  16. ^^^^^^^ and those people are generally in tiny, homogenous populations with only a single, planet-wide government.
  17. I have an old Atlas / Craftsman 101, but no DRO. I'm about 45 minutes west of Knoxville
  18. If you care to be entertained by wailing and gnashing of teeth, go check out the Alabama fan site. rollbamaroll.com
  19. I'm a retired volunteer fireman, and I went through a burned out floor in a multi-story structure once, stopping myself with my arms. Luckily for me the fire was mostly out on the lower floor, and others helped me back up. I don't recommend it.
  20. Vegas sets the odds so that the house wins either way. Those who bet bet against one another. The house takes a cut for brokering the deal.
  21. Thanks guys!
  22. I have four #1's, but not a 22-250. That'd make a nice addition!
