Famous would be Patton, the man was a force. Personally it would be My uncle Forest. His stories were wonderful. At one time he had control of tactical missiles. He served in USAF from WWII until retirement then worked at hospital as civilian. Took us on tour of AF museum when I was very young.

I have a 1973 JM 336, beautiful gun and one I have always wanted/will never part with. I like the Henry but the Marlin is better looking to me. For a Texas hog gun I would want something bigger than 30-30 though. And for a brush gun, a short barrel.

So many choices! Well SOME choices anyway. $5-600 would be hard choice nine months ago, limited now with inflated prices. Been wanting an 8 round 357 or a 44. either in 2 or 3 inch barrel. Just ran across a 2 inch 45 acp wheelgun today that would scratch the itch and work with the ammo I already have but yeah,,,another 22 would be good. Maybe two. There is that Bearcat Shopkeeper on arms list been wanting to gift my wife.

And I realize the other environmental impacts of pure electrics including children panning for lithium, disposal of used up batteries, etc. The technology will improve with time just as internal combustion did but at a much accelerated rate. My complaint is we put all of our eggs in the petroleum basket early on. I think we would be better off today had we used ethanol, methane, LPG, and other fuels. they all pollute but have different emissions. On P 80 mess, we are not restricted from building our own firearms so why would an 80% be a problem? some of you undoubtedly have the capability to build your own from raw materials. At what point wouldit be acceptable for ATF? Raw forging? tool steel? Iron ore? They set a standard, we followed it, now they want to renege? Same with pistol braces. You can't satisfy those who wish to disarm us by compromise, that is proven. Now those who have are seeing why we fought so hard to stop the camel from getting it's head under the tent. We truly need to fight to overturn GCA of 1968.

mine is between 300-310. Did you get yours in Gallatin? I had to reorder mine. The first one came in and a LEO needed it so the shop sold him "mine"

Ran across this and had to add my two cents. I agree with the sentiment of buying American. In practice, however, I disagree. I buy quality firearms that work and fit my hand. The SCCY sounds great but I have yet to hold one. Kel Tec is great. I have one of the first P32s that came into TN. bought it new and will never sell it. Just a bit heavier unloaded is my baby Browning, NOT US made. I think no one would turn down a good HiPower. Also at one time owned a Taurus 85, Taurus 669, EAA Witness in .45 ACP. My favorite pistol, the overweight darling, is Brazilian made. Bought one new when they first cae to the states because it fits my hand perfectly. Also in it's favor was every review I read on it with one writer stating it outperformed his Colt Officers Model he had nicknamed "money pit" due to the amount spent tuning it. By the way, the SCCY and Kel Tec are out as my primary until they build a good .45.

I've been through several pages in search and found nothing so hope someone can educate me. My sister told me my brother in law is looking for a new pistol and they told him he needed a "17 grip". Has someone come up with some measuring tool for grip and trigger reach that I haven't heard of? Thanks in advance.

actually a very good analogy. I used to agree with it 100%. Now I want an all electric or very efficient hybrid for the weekdays so I can run the fossil fuels on the weekend. I agreed with you up until the last statement, As a pro car nut, not supporting some emission standards would be calling for the end of the automobile. Restrictions on firearms are unconstitutional. I could write a book on this but I will be brief. The bump stock ban should never have been allowed. To me they are worthless, but, shall not be means shall not be. I am reminded of the prose from the Hitler era. "when they came for me there was no one left to stand"

my OPINION is many of those selling ammo and components are not shooters but amateur retailers taking advantage of the situation much as the guy who bought the huge quantity of hand sanitizer to resell at the beginning of this mess. note that his error was showing his hand with quantity.
