  1. well ammo sales have now scratched one of my local stores from my visit/buy from list. Went in last night, said good evening, put my mask on and per the notice on the door proceeded to the table and "sanitized" my hands. I proceeded directly to the ammo isle and found what I wanted. One of the staff came over and asked if he could help me find anything. "No thank you, I found what I need" I made my choice between the two different bullets and picked up two boxes. As I straightened up he returned to tell me they have a limit of one box. (20 rds) in each caliber. Ok, put one box back and made a walk around the store to see what guns they had and prices. I didn't tarry as it was near closing time. I went to the counter and was told "I can't sell you that, we are closed"

I bought 60 rounds off Gun Broker this morning. I won't miss the local shop as we have two more and a sportsmans warehouse in town.

by the way, the ammo I bought was reasonably priced. Got hit with shiooing of course but the seller messaged me that if I needed anything else he would not charge extra so I could have placed a bigger order and spread the shipping charges out.

  2. I get it, Levi's is bad. but I have to be careful who I boycott. Like it was written, we could be living naked in a cave.

we all have a cell phone and I'm sure most here have a laptop or tablet. Do you know where lithium for the batteries comes from?

and most jeans are made in sweatshops overseas BECAUSE we don't want to pay for them made in USA.

    trade offs in everything unfortunately

  3. I own a Firestar in .45 and one on 9mm. This is my second .45 and neither has ever failed. It doesn't matter if you like them or not. I didn't buy them for you. By the same token, what I think of someone else's choice shouldn't matter. If it fits you and functions that's all that matters.

So yeah, put it back up, I want to read it too. We're all adults aren't we?

Long time Wrangler man myself. Usually pick em up at Wal-Mart or Target. They come in a wide range of waists and lengths along with several different style cuts to fit pretty near anybody. Good, long lasting jeans at reasonable prices. 👍

Uh, aren't you Levis guys aware that not only is that company rabidly anti-gun, but they are also huge financial supporters of just about every major left wing cause there is?  I mean this has only been common knowledge for the last 30 years or so. 🙄

I tried to avoid wally world because of their predatory practice of destroying the competition then lowering their selection. Then they began political statements, last year they pulled pistol ammo. this year? walmart is dead to me.

I’ll give these a try. I used to wear Levis, but the price kept climbing and the quality kept declinng.

Do they make those toughskin double knee jeans for adults? Man, those things sucked!

did we have the same mother? toughskins were the worst

  6. Wore Levis and nothing else until they went overseas with production. Switched to Wrangler because they were made in U.S.A.

Now just something cheap I can fit my fat a$$ into. I no longer do labor, had to take a desk due to my back so I can't speak to sturdiness.

Overalls are comfortable, have to agree. good ones are hard to find now since wally world ran good retailers out of business.

GREG, is macon dept store still in business?

  7. So with the cost of ammo and having to go to an indoor range amid this virus. I'm considering investing in one of the dry fire laser target systems. Just wondering if anyone has bought or used any of these yet? thoughts? experience?

I've given a few boxes to guys that I've sold a 22 pistol recently, but not entertaining (yet) selling any. I have far more 22 than any of my other calibers, but...holding on as well. Might well be that my revolvers and maybe a Henry be all allowed to keep.

Pessimistic today. Listened to too much bs from the left talkers.

I'm really stubborn. When they get mine,,,I won't need them any more and will probably be out of ammo so no big loss.

To me, they feel like the old Kel-tec PF9. I owned one of them for a very short while. It was brutal to shoot. I ran one mag and sold it as fast as I could. jmo

Hopefully the SKYY will be better.

That is why I only have 3 lightweight pistols, one .22 one in .25 acp and one in .32 acp

the 22 is Ruger SR22, mid size, lightweight, just a joy to shoot. The SCCY in .380 should be manageable.

Wolf Gold is brass cased ammo. It is reported to be good stuff.

to be honest, I prefer Federal for everything with the exception of 30-30 where Federal comes in 2nd. I have been pushed to Winchester white box for FMJ .45 ACP. Still have over 80 rds of hydra-shock loaded up.

A friend went to the Lebanon gun show Saturday and said one of the most expensive .308 ammo there was Wolf. Really? That was the ammo that you bought when you just wanted to go bang bang  whenever. He said he saw it for $1.75 rd. He saw a guy and his wife had bought 4 cases.  I won't buy ammo that I can't afford to shoot.  "Stupid is as stupid does".

    panic makes people stupid.

I don't care what the "experts" say, I won't use steel cased ammo. I haven't SEEN Wolf brass case, so, non-starter.

  12. WOW! 10 round bags, what would one do with only 10 rounds?

I half agree with hipower, too old and fat to stand in line. But I'm not selling, never again. Every time I sell a gun I regret it,,,except once. Little single action .22 six gun, cheap used out of time piece of crap would burn your hand every round it was so bad.

  13. Like I said, I sympathize with new owners trying to build a supply. I bought a .300 Blackout a few months back and still trying to build that. But I will buy at reasonable prices. Even bought a different caliber pistol in case my preferred caliber wasn't available. Thought I had things covered with reloading equipment but I didn't get the needed primers so my press is dusty. Live and learn. I have enough ammo, I just can't shoot because it isn't readily available to replace what I burn.

  14. Cross posting this to long guns.

we have hundreds of thousands of new gun owners in the US. They are panic buying ammo to go with panic bought firearms. I understand their panic, I even sympathize. But I refuse to join the folly. I looked at ammo today on GB and found 30-30 that I bought two months ago for $16 a box bid to over $80. For a box of 20? really? I would like to have a better stash but I have what I need. Stop feeding these speculators who are cutting off our supply only to try to gouge us. where do you think they are buying theirs? when they stop selling because we stop buying from them the ammo will return to the shelves where it was destined to be.
