  1. took long enough. should have been done last year instead of twiddling thumbs wondering what to do about covee
  2. those that are a danger to themselves and other yes. many can be treated as outpatient and contribute and live reasonably well. I would just hate to see us go back to locking those with mental disability away, filing and forgetting like we did not many decades ago.
  3. nailhead, meet hammerhead not to say remove mentally unstable but to get them medical help and allow them to be flagged on NICS
  4. nah, some of us believe it is our God given right. I didn't ask for permission before, not asking now. Be nice for someone to show some respect and stop the infringements.
  5. thanks worried. appreciate the updates as I had slipped from checking. (new puppy)

  7. everyone has access to the library and there are PLENTY of resources on the internet. Don't tell me they don't have the time, if you value your children's life, MAKE the time. I'm sure parents all make time for ball games and such. every child should be required to take gun safety in schools, real gun safety not this watered down don't touch/find an adult crap.
  8. "you can lead a horse to water..." the question isn't what one SHOULD do. it is what the government is allowed to REQUIRE us to do. everyone SHOULD be required to take a comprehensive driver's training course. the government COULD legally require and enforce this but they do not. no one's "right" to drive is guaranteed. everyone US citizen's right to keep and bear arms IS guaranteed without restriction/
  9. I know, we lost a guy for pointing loaded M16 in wrong direction on the range. You can fix stupid, but it's gonna hurt. And carry permit classes won't weed the stupid out either.
  10. by the way, I can't speak for other branches of service. BUT in the Army we were taught to asses, think, and adapt. in other words, reason it out.
  11. Service and training have a great effect on responsibility, which is key in my opinion. Mayne not maturity so much but being responsible and having military small arms training is I assure you, enough. the need to know the law on rules of engagement will be instilled in basic training.
  12. Yes, EVERYONE should. Even those who do not own firearms and especially those anti gun nuts. How can you argue against something you know nothing about? (they sound like idiots to those who know)
  13. that is the attitude all trainers should have. I think students would be better served with basic handgun operation and safety. Requiring classes is unconstitutional and yes, I will keep repeating it.
  14. mine is .300 BO also. I acquired it it June last year and have been slowly building ammo reserve.
  15. so my braced 10.5 AwfulRifle will qualify then. not that I plan on it for EDC.
  16. this is why we have this community, Thanks JayC. I find the state assembly website tedious to navigate.
  17. Haven't been on here long and don't own too many firearms. (does anyone)? I check in here every day and enjoy the comradery. even chat with folks from home. good advice, good deals, good information, good fun, and great people. what more could one ask for? and yeah, gr8smiles and some others are KILLIN' me with top shelf firearms!
  18. those are terrible and deserve better.
  19. PS I love the red dot on my ar pistol
  20. I am also curious about this. The pistols I carry are offbeat so buying a premilled slide is out of the question. I also believe it needs to be tried before I commit. Someone previously stated the slides are very expensive. My thought is to buy one of the new SCCY pistols with red dot from factory. If I like it, I can try having one of my slides milled. If it doesn't suit me I can resell the SCCY and not lose much. I had to check out an ad on armslist that pictures a pair of engraved inlaid 1911s. the company that does the work also mills slides. Their work LOOKS exceptional and reviews are good. Sorry cannot remember the website off top of my head but if you see the ad,,,you'll know.
  21. Agreed this should never have been politicized. Doing so gas destroyed confidence and divided us as a nation. Demanding and browbeating people into taking a vaccine is just so wrong. It is a personal decision to be considered with ones own doctor, or not. I no longer fly so that does not concern me but requiring proof of anything from U S Citizens to exercise freedom is unlawful and unethical. kind of like testing, fees and such to vote or own and carry firearms. Hope you do well with this vaccine and with your leukemia.
  22. thanks for the update. never worry about what anyone but you and your doctors opinion when it comes to your health. I'd give you #### but it's too much effort this morning.
  23. I'm going to have to eat crow too. Overweight with COPD My doctor asked me then asked my wife how to convince me. I just don't trust it and REALLY don't trust Fauchi talking out both sides of his face. I'll get it very soon.
  24. I can't imagine what you have described. Welcome to the forum and hopefully welcome to Tennessee soon. True enough Nashville has gotten more liberal. I suspect the next mayor will not be with the show the current mayor has put on. Memphis is also very blue. otherwise, this is a very conservative state. Cookeville or Murfreesboro would be where I would look. Both are college towns and my biased opinion is Murfreesboro covers your needs better. Chattanooga is good too but with Nashville being the hub of the south I would stay close. Internet is excellent around most mid to large cities here. I have ATT fiber optic business level here at the house. We had excellent for the time internet when I lived in Lafayette which is a very small town. Not sure how it is now. Point being, most areas, even rural, have good internet access. Outside of most cities, as long as you have room no one will bother your shooting. Best of luck. And be prepared for humid hot summers.
