  1. and slipping off topic somewhat. I fully believe that "they" would and will try to disarm Americans completely. It is the basis of "their" platform to take care of you every need. Your diet, your health care, your security, what your children are taught, what kind of car you drive, what you can and cannot say. If you don't think "they" will actually try to take your guns you need to open your eyes to what they have already taken.
  2. Where I went to high school, there were gun racks in trucks. Where I grew up there were a lot of adults strapped at all times. Yes, we could resolve things without weapons, one on one. We could also say "I'm going to kill you" and not be arrested for the rhetoric it was.
  3. So we need parenting? Discipline? Morals? Yes we do! I keep several weapons at the ready. When my children were young I had one out of four that was not trustworthy. One who would sneak, scheme and work through barriers to access. I had to keep all but one empty and locked, I had one that was always within arms reach, ready to go. We have the responsibility as parents to understand our children and their tendencies. We have the responsibility of seeing that they are not perfect and see their faults. Adapt and overcome. Trust but verify. I have avoided the news on this shooting. I don't want to know what the media says, I don't care what the politicians have to say. This is tragic, as with the Nashville shooting, I'm sure clues were missed or ignored. We live in a time where parents will fight unceasingly for their children even if they know the child is wrong. So yes, we are all complicent allowing our society to get where we are. It's going to take adults to fix this. Not teachers and politicians but parents. Also, there have been two students in Nashville schools caught with guns this week. Do I think the timing of an election year is part of the issue? Sure, the rhetoric is not lost on our youngsters, they hear when the president says a GOP win will destroy our country.
  4. These are a couple of the things in my opinion above about what is different.
  5. You're pulling a lot of what if's here. Why not go so far as to say what happens when a kid steals a car, wrecks into a patrol car, and steals the officer's weapons? There were unsecured firearms in my home as a child. I never touched them without permission. There were hundreds available to my high school classmates, and there were many fights as well as bullying that went on. Therre were no shootings in any of my schools growing up and I never heard of any elsewhere. It isn't the guns, it isn't accessibility. I have my own opinion as to why but I'll let you figure out your own answers.
  6. It's true, there have been great developments in arms and ammo. The example is evidence of that. I have explored options but I don't normally carry a 9mm. In fact I just traded my only 9mm for another .45. Oh I'll replace it with another micro sized pocket 9 at some point. The one that has gone everywhere every day for over 25 years has not been improved upon. There's only one pistol I know of smaller and lighter than my KelTec P32 and I don't carry it at all. I don't care for red dots on handguns and I am not fond of the huge mags on the hi cap 9s. There is also a trade off in accuracy for smaller and lighter.
  7. that's me LMAO
  8. mine used to be "NSA SURVEILLANCE VAN 2"
  9. When the big crash of automotive sites hit it wasn't as disturbing as when TGO went down,,,and I work in the auto parts industry. Hope this site never goes down again. GUNLISTINGS.ORG has been blank since they started craking down on who needs an FFL.
  10. I have to do a resupply on my 45 ammo or this would sit next to my Baby. Nice piece!
  11. I'm good thanks for checking

The original SBR as it were
  14. Very nice bike, rare to find this close to original. I had an XS400 and an XS750. superb bikes in their classes. Rob is a good one to deal with too.
  15. I agree, the NFA and GCA are unconstitutional and need to go. We see from that progression the anti's are not happy with a little, they want it all. @Grayfox54 yes I understand the thugs are getting bolder and better armed. that just goes to prove that gun control laws don't work. We have to find a better way to deal with that problem. Maybe go back in time and legalize weed so the cartels didn't grow so strong. Or stop prohibition from being passed so the mob didn't profit from liquor. those two bans didn't work and gave the criminals a lot of profits. Had we kept these two thing legal, controlled, and taxed we would not have spent billions on enforcing bans and gained billions in tax dollars. I have no clue how many jobs are in the liquor and liquor control/inspection industries but we can see how much the criminals have profited. I have dies for .45 and I'm sure I could buy more die sets for any other full auto I might be able to get. I'm sure that machine guns are not that expensive, they are just a finite commodity in the USA so the price goes up.
  16. Happy for the success for Outpost, but I hate seeing On Target close. A little competition is a good thing. Range fees at Outpost are very high as are other ranges in Rutherford Co. At least they have ranges, not a thing in Shelbyville and I have neighbors behind me on both sides.
  17. Well, it's about time this was overturned. Let's hope it sticks. US judge tosses machine gun possession case, calls ban unconstitutional (msn.com) #1 on my wish list is a Thompson
  18. Don't guess the population is apt to increase.

    Tactical?

I always thought magnum was in reference to chamber pressure. I understand the different calibers such as all of the .38s are where the measurement is taken. but tactical is just an add on term for has extra stuff. for handguns, could be and accessory rail or a 1911 with round butt. It's all in the perception.

    Tactical?

from the Oxford dictionary; relating to or constituting actions carefully planned to gain a specific military end. For my money tactical would be stealthy. Quiet, unnoticed, achieving one's objective with minimal effort. Looking at tactical teams and gear would lead one to assume it means having every possible piece of gear you could ever by some chance need when the perfect plan works as one would expect (SNAFU).

    Tactical?

Honestly, I was in dire need of a rechargable light before they were popular. I bought a flea market "tactical" for cheap and it is just now getting to where the switch is sketchy. it's over 10 years old and has served me well.
  23. Collector's list. I'm more of a shooter. None of these are on my list. Maybe Elmer Kieth's No 5. For surplus 1911 I'd look for Remington Rand since that was the best of my issue pistols.
  24. Very true. You reminded me of running into the local "Karen" last year when we were moving in. To understand fully you have to know that I have degenerative disc disease and torn rotator cuff in both shoulders. I also moved us with some help from my stepson. So I was hot, tired and in pain when I pulled into the parking space at Walmart with my wife. She put her handicap placard on the mirror and we put the sun shield up. WITH the tag on the outer side. It took me a couple minutes after shutting the car off and opening the door to pull myself out of the car. As we walked to the back of the car a woman walked by and asked "where's your tag"? My mind immediately jumped to someone had stolen our tag, but I looked and said "right there". She said she meant our handicap tag as she had one on the back of her truck. I went from tired and in pain to angry in a flash. I told her it was none of her business, move along. She persisted and I asked if she was with the police. She continued with her tirade at which point I told her if she thought we were doing anything illegal to call the cops and get out of my business. I was not pleasant, I was no longer polite, and I used some rough and foul language. In other words, most sane people would have walked away. She did not and continued, my wife even called her "Karen" and told her the tag was on the mirror. Had she been a man, it would have been damn the pain beat down time. You never know who you might be triggering, today might be the wrong day to say good morning to someone or it might be the thing that brightens their day. Sorry for the book, but David reminded me that it doesn't have to be something YOU say or do, it could be something you didn't say, wear, do, act.
  25. I agree people will stare and point, some will say something. That's all well and good. Just don't invade someone's personal space to do so. What if it were a MAGA or John Deere hat, would that be different? Would that give left wingers and DEI supporters the right to verbally accost me and get in my face? Suppose someone were to get in my face because of a Harley tee shirt? You could stretch that into affiliation with outlaw bikers. Try turning it around. How about we allow people to pull stunts like this against women wearing Habibs? would that be ok too. On a side note, some young women are downright indecent and should be stared at and talked about. Notice I did not say accosted. Looking and talking are one thing, touching and a nasty attitude should not be tolerated.
