Would never consider I was being dismissed. There are a few people on here that I find offensive, Chuck is not one of them even when we disagree. Thanks I will revert to the preacher in me now I do not believe God cares in the slightest who leads what country nor if any of our nations even exist. When the Hebrews asked for a king, what did God tell Samuel? they have not rejected you they have rejected me (God) God did not appoint a king but told Samuel to harken unto the people. God is not interested in what a person aspires to or achieves. He does not mold every day of the world. He set it in motion and placed us here with free will as stewards of his creation. His will is that His word will stand throughout time regardless of man not because of mankind. I believe that each of us has a job to do but if we refuse God will send another IF it pleases him. Otherwise it will be set upon us as failure at judgement whether the task is done or not. That said, I do believe this nation will continue to decline as long as we refuse to acknowledge the true and living God. I also believe that decline is inevitable. We can delay it but it will come to all nations.

one report compared the AR15 to an M4. Another stated the rifle was nothing special. I have heard comments about the young man living in a "gun culture". JB's handlers know better than to push his "assault rifle" ban in a time like this as even MSM has said LEO can't be everywhere always and you can't stop a lone wolf. The underlying tone is there but left unspoken. probably intentionally to keep GOP from bringing up the dems who said DJT would be the end of democracy and needed to be dealt with sic.
-
he has a big mouth and needs to leave the social media to a specialist. In other words, he and I would not be friends even if I like what he says. I would also not knock him for the things we disagree on. He would also not be my first GOP choice. This attempt on his life can only help his campaign as JB has always appeared weak. Remember, appearance over substance.
-
Unless dems get control of both legislative bodies the current SCOTUS has turned that tide.
-
Sadly, we live in a time when people regard image above qualifications. Therefore, even the best of people must be highly conscious of their image. I'd be pretty pumped too had I just missed death by a fraction.
-
Near death experiences change the way one thinks, and very quickly. Not saying it will change him in that respect but he is changed.

a reputedly bad shot without optics at that

the Bible tells us it rains on the just and unjust alike. It also says man has a prescribed time to die.
-
Let us hope this results in a calmer, more subdued DJT. The one thing he has needed from the beginning. I stated earlier in the thread I'd try to refrain from the political aspect so I'll leave it at this.
-
Thanks for the linked articles guys. I wouldn't normally look at USA Today. their article was subdued somewhat and even stated they were using unsubstantiated and hacked info leaked by investigators. Not saying it wasn't factual, just that what was written earlier about waiting until the investigation is over bears repeating. The spokesperson did say the rifle was nothing special. Pure speculation on my part: This was an exceptional young man who was ostracized by his peers and decided to show his father and the gun club how well he could shoot. The comment on learning why is very relevant and a touchy subject to those of us here in middle Tennessee.

also report from someone labeled as military stating an AR15 was essentially the same as an M4. The shooter was nowhere near being a sniper.
-
The report now says 200-300 yards with an AR15 style, 7 or 8 shots. Damn son, that's a fail where I was trained.
-
This could go the other way from what is being speculated. Americans could see what all of the polarized extreme right and left are causing and decide we have had enough. One can still have hope. I don't believe this but it is possible.

third witness believes she saw shooter in the bleachers. maybe they saw one of the victims amybe there were two shooters.
-
I based what I said on two eyewitness accounts. I wasn't there and the shooter was not on camera. Even so, why wouldn't there at the very least a drone overwatch looking for snipers on rooftops? I want to know what the range was.

I will try to avoid the political end of this, I'm sure it will be covered. Saw the vid in slow motion, 1. Trump grabbed his ear and kept speaking, looked at his hand and put it back to his ear before SS floored him. Secret Service was slow. 2. How did security allow someone to climb the back of the bleachers. Security was lax 3. Secret Service agent infront of Trump after he was put into his vehicle couldn't find her holster. 4. Shooter got off more than one shot. Several people need more training. And before anyone brings it up, I know about stress and adrenalin and that is what we train for.

I've had a few. I'll pick up a 605 at some point as a mate to my 608. Only issue I've encountered was a heavy trigger on a concealed hammer 357. Can't remember the model number of that. Never had an issue with breakage, timing, or accuracy from any of them. To make it clear, I haven't bought a new Taurus in 30 years so I missed the problem years. My 608 was a used import, it's so smooth I have to believe it had some work done by a previous owner. It's heavy of course but the porting and weight make it pleasant even with full power 158gr slugs. At the moment I have 3 PTs in 45 acp and am looking for more. Plan is to own one of every Taurus 45.

Haven't enjoyed the theater since I was a kid. Once I got a drivers license and went to the drive in I never (almost) went back. Let's see, put on real clothes, sit in a dark room with people without a cigarette for 2 hours vs watch from my recliner with my dogs on65 inch with sound system. Nope, I can wait a week or two until it is available to stream or on DVD. And actually, the wife and I prefer older movies.

If you can find one they made single tens. 9 shot 22 revolvers are great though. originally typed single seven. Freudian slip since I want both.

back of the sofa has two ends. someone memed a find the mistakes pic LOL

I've done several searches on it. I only came up with the 2017 and 2021 break ins. But my wife and I were i the store the morning after the last one, just a couple of months ago. I did see it on their FB page at one time but looks like they have a new page now.

My instructor said always start with the last thing that was touched. Take the ac belt off and see if it stops. A/C compressors get really loud when they are about to disembowel themselves. Not sure about big block Chevy but I had a 400cid Ford that would throw the pushrods out of the rocker cups if it sat too long. They only knock for a short time until the pushrods get bent, then you have a dead miss. A collapsed lifter would show as a dead miss. If it's a stuck valve it could be a large ole in a piston. Start with the A/C. Then check for a miss. After that it's removing the rocker covers. Keep in mind, if it is just a lifter, you still need to replace all 16 plus the cam. Now you're into money pit time.

Specialty Arms II in LaVergne? They were broken into in the same back through the front again not long ago. Thieves somehow got around the two large concrete planter style blocks. I think this was the 4th time. Can't find the article but wife and I were in the store the day after.

I agree. SR 22 is a great beginner's pistol. I like mine. If I didn't have it the TX22 would be at the top of my list for auto pistols, Not sure for revolvers. Low cost definitely Wrangler, but I do miss my old Single Six.

missed second gear in a new 78 F150 and nearly broke my knuckles on the windshield. Old FOMOCO shift levers won't break
