  1. I don't mind providing supplies for my daughter. However, my wife told me a coworker had a list of supplies that included an iTunes gift card for "music for the class". Let's see, the cheapest ones ive seen are $15. With 25-30 kids in each class the teacher is well on their way to a new iPad. -southernasylum
  2. One of my favorites is Bill Riley vs John Lennon
  3. With $5 shipping seems like a pretty good price. http://sport.woot.com/offers/crkt-crawford-triumph-knife-1 -southernasylum
  4. Go to the nearest hardware store and buy a toilet rin seal. Should be cheap.
  5. Don't like it. Don't buy it...until the govt forces you to in the form of a tax. Sorry, I couldn't resist. -southernasylum
  6. I have the standard DA/SA trigger. I like it. The reset is plenty short for me.
  7. I've got a P229 and a Beretta 92 and love them both. They are both good choices so get one of each! -southernasylum
  8. My friends and I used to play paintball with them when we were teenagers. I got the idea from a magazine that mentioned since paintball markers were illegal in many parts of the world people would use the slingshots. I like the ones with the wrist supports. I still have several but need to replace the bands on a couple. Back then we were pretty good shots with them. I'm sure I could not hit much now without a lot of practice. I think I may dig them out and see what destruction I can unleash! -southernasylum
  9. Great leather work and guns! I've got to try my hand at leather stamping sometime. -southernasylum
  10. I grew up on Ft. Campbell and used to play with the LAW tubes. We got them out of the dumpsters behind the old hospital before they tore it down. The MP's didn't like it very much and would always come and relieve us of them. After a couple of times they found a new place to dump em. Best toy ever! -southernasylum
  11. I grew up on the Beastie Boys! It's a sad day. RIP Adam. -southernasylum
  12. I had the same reaction. I couldn't believe the way the story was reported! -southernasylum
  13. The Secret Service use Sig P229's in .357sig.
  14. Holy Crap! That is cool! -southernasylum
  15. Great work! I think I need a single action in my future. -southernasylum
  16. Doh! I forgot to take pics with the gun. Anyways here's the one I made yesterday for the Glock 30SF. I probably could have trimmed the leather down a little but it's plenty comfy so I didn't bother. -southernasylum
  17. I would vote for the Mayfield Moostracks fudge ribbon for congress! That's stuff is tasty, and better for you than most politicians! -southernasylum
  18. I use .060 for the holster and 1/8th for the clips. -southernasylum
  19. Here's a link with a little better price: http://www.amazon.com/ABS-Plastic-Sheet-Thick-Thickness/dp/B004UBUX5C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1335474375&sr=8-2 At this price you can get 2-2x24 sheets for $27.36 with free shipping. You can make quite a few holsters with a single sheet. I think Old Faithful holsters uses 6x6 pieces. I get my leather from Tandy when it's on sale. I get some of my hardware there too. I do buy T-nuts, screws and Neoprene washers from Home Depot. I have to cut the screws to size because the ones that are the right size are hard to find and cost 10xs the price of the longer ones if they are in stock. I made one today for a Glock 30SF. I'll post pics tomorrow. -southernasylum
  20. Here's the thin kydex I ordered for the holster: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004U6DJI0/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i00 I don't remember it costing that much. There may be cheaper ones out there. Here's the thicker stuff I used for the clips: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002ZPPXK/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00
  21. I order it from Parts Express thru Amazon. I'll try to find a link later and post it.
  22. Thanks. I tried a few different types of foam I had laying around the house but what I now use is just a couple of old bath towels. I fold one for the bottom and place on a hard surface. The one on top is bunched up. I put a flat board on it and press my weight on it for about a minute. I heat my oven to 320 and just put the kydex on a cookie sheet. It only takes a few minutes for the kydex to soften up. If you mess up just throw the kydex back in the oven for a couple of minutes and it's as goo as new. -southernasylum
  23. Well I admit I've been carrying IWB for over 10 years now so it comes pretty natural. My first IWB holster was a cheapo Uncle Mikes spandex thingy and It was like carrying a brick around in your waistband, maybe not even that comfortable. I ditched it pretty quick and found a Safariland that I used for many years. It was OK at best. When I finally started making my own I was able to tweak until I was comfortable. And it is cheap too! I'll probably never buy a holster again! -southernasylum
  24. I tried it on and I could barely tell it was there. It's adjustable but right now it rides with the cylinder just below the top of the belt and has a forward cant. The guy I made it for says it's very comfy. He's going to experiment with different heights. -southernasylum
  25. I thought I'd try out my hand at some kydex molding. After making one for myself and being happy with the results I made this one for a friend. On this I folded the kydex over so it is kydex on the front and back side of the gun because my friend wanted the holster to stay open without the gun in it. On the one I made for myself I made it with just kydex on the outside and leather on the inside. I made some J-hooks with a top tab to let the belt take the weight of the holster. I can see why everyone loves these types of holsters as they are really very comfortable! He's very happy with it. Thanks for looking, -southernasylum
