Support Franklin Alderman
southernasylum replied to 1pointofview's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Sent him a message of support. Maybe they will remove those stupid "No Guns" signs in front of all the local parks. Those things are hideous and unless they contain some hidden magic, do nothing to stop criminals. -southernasylum -
International distress signal. Sound about right.

The other thing to keep in mind is recent history. This is the administrations wish list, however when SOME PEOPLE don't get their way through negotiation and due process they find ways to get everything they want with or without a vote. Doubly scary is the amount of bureaucracy this type of wish list can create. I've never been the paranoid type, but I'm getting there. I have no dog in this fight as all of my guns were lost in a recent canoeing accident. -southernasylum

I told him to make sure to treat the customers well as those things spread quickly around the gun community. I'll hold my judgement. I was excited when Ussletons was opening close to my house. I quickly lost interest after seeing their range membership fees and lane fees online. -southernasylum -
I was in Home Depot and the guy next to me was yelling an employee he's opening soon. I had to ask, he said they will open around the 21st. They're waiting on their FFL to process but have accessories and ammo available. It will be located on Moores Lane and Gen. George Patton. Will have to visit and make sure he knows about TGO Vendor protection status. =) -southernasylum

Inside Waist Band Carry uncomfortable.
southernasylum replied to Jesse's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Not sure what you've tried but keep at it and you'll find what works for you. One thing you probably already know, that Ruger is about as big as a carry gun gets. It's a monster. Something with a lot of leather against your body and two supports would be my recommendation. A Crossbread or one of the knockoffs shoul do. -southernasylum -
can't get rid of the squatter? just move in with them
southernasylum replied to Sam1's topic in General Chat
Here in TN it takes 3 months to evict someone who has no right to be living in your house. Then if you want to recoup court costs and damages you have to file a civil suit. That's why I sold my rental property. You can't imagine the depth of frustration knowing that you can't take possession of what is rightfully yours without a court order. -southernasylum -
A question for the Romney apologists
southernasylum replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I usually stay out of these but I'll throw my hat into this one. I was not a Romney supporter until the moment he won the primary. Now I am. I don't feel a need to apologize for that. Here's Romney's own words from another thread: Gov. Romney: "Chris, I believe the next president could indeed have the opportunity to shape the Court for decades to come, and that’s a key reason why the tens of millions of Americans who support the NRA should support my candidacy. My view of the Constitution is straightforward: Its words have meaning. The founders adopted a written constitution for a reason. They intended to limit the powers of government. The job of a judge is to enforce the Constitution’s restraints on government and, where the Constitution does not speak, to leave the governance of the nation to its elected representatives. I believe in the rule of law, and I will appoint wise, experienced and restrained judges who take seriously their oath to discharge their duties impartially in accordance with our Constitution and our laws—not their personal policy preferences." I don't see the other candidate with a chance of winning believing or even saying anything anywhere close to this. And if he did he wouldn't hesitate to break his word. Here we have Romney on record with the above statement. Lets elect him and hold him to it! Especially when it comes to the appointment of Supreme Court justices, I support Romney. Just my $.04 (i value my opinion at least twice as much as that of others) =) -southernasylum -

I just got one of those cheap cash boxes from Target. It specifically says not for firearms. I don't see any reason not to put one in there. I am going to add a little foam to protect the finish of my guns. It was around $20 cable loops around seat and stows under seat. The cable makes it easier to access for adding and removing items. Also, it has a programmable combo lock with a key as well. A determined thief can defeat it but it'll definitely slow them down. If you bolt it down it would be even more secure but less easy to use. -southernasylum p.s. This is the one I got. My local Target had it for $20 or $25. http://www.target.com/p/first-alert-digital-locking-steel-security-box-0-27-cu-ft/-/A-11241629?reco=Rec_pdp_11241629_MultiSolrRecentSearchToPurchase_Banner

I live in Franklin. My Sister in Law and her Husband just has a break in in the Green Vally sub division. Their vehicle and garage were hit hard. Worst thing Is they were home with their two small children and slept thru it. The police have recovered some things from a Nashvile pawnshop. Hopefully that will lead to an arrest. My BIL said there were a few break ins in that neighborhood. I hope these guys get caught or worse before they show up at your place again. -souhernasylum
