  1. I completely agree. Nothing like a puff of pink mist, With the "puff of pink" you know they're dead. With a .22LR I'd have to double tap, Sooner or later you have to move the bodies, or the stench would get unbearable, and I would not want any "playing dead." John
  2. Many are questioning the letality of a .22LR. I want to put those questioning of the letality of .22LR at ease. IT IS LETHAL FARTHER THAN YOU MAY THINK. I've worked many homicides where the victim was shot with a .22LR. Here is a video that explains this very well. If a picture is worth a thousand words, this video is worth tens of thousands. With that in mind, I recently built a .22LR AR15 upper. It has a 4.5 inch barrel and eventually, as soon as I get my tax stamp back, a YHM Mite suppressor. That is the weapon I want for the zombie hoard. The 4.5 inch barrel keeps the projectile subsonic (no sonic crack), the suppressor stops the boom of the gun. I'd like that and a .223 upper for farther shots. And of course the lower for both of them. Aside from that, I like Casters style. I also want a umbrella (I burn easy), cooler with a ice cold beverage, reclining lawn chair, turkey sub, etc... John
  3. Man that sucks. Where was this deal? Maybe they'll get more. $299. is a crazy good deal. I've been looking for a MAK90 for over a year. They run in the $600 range used. John
  4. I have to agree with Capt USA. I will bunker in place as long as possible. I'll board up my house, as good as I can and ride it out as long as I can. I have a family and I think it will be safer to for everyone in a small secure area. You can't watch all directions while your running around. Some yahoo might get a lucky shot and take out a loved one. Once a few weeks goes by, I might go foraging in the darkness where I have the advantage (night vision). All this, of course, is dependant on what happens. I have a bug out bag at the ready. John
  5. Nobody has mentioned it yet, but there is a place called "Champions Choice" (http://www.champchoice.com/) just off Walton Rd in Lavergne. They have very good prices on projectiles and other reloading supplies. For example, 500 Sierra Matchking 77grain projectiles are $105 (http://www.champchoice.com/detail.aspx?ID=1707). If you know what you want, I recommend checking them out. Very few people know of the place because it is primarily a online ordering place. But you can go in and buy stuff there over the counter if you wish. It's not a store front, but I generally don't go there to window shop. They are cheaper than Reloaders Bench on a lot of items. I also shop at Reloaders Bench. John
  6. I think people have recently posted their zombie guns in "who has a zombie gun?" John
  7. I got Alpha male. I guess thats good. It says I'm prone to violent outbursts. THATS BULLS@%T! I AM NOT PRONE TO VIOLENT F$%KING OUTBURSTS!!! I noticed that I would do other stuff that the answers provided. For example, if zombies attacked and everyone was dead. Sure, I'd go on a zombie killing spree. But afterward, I'd calm down and look for more survivors. I think everyone would do the same. John
  8. Its only .75 caliber but it will shoot anything you push down the barrel. John
  9. Althought not night vision capable, my son thought I should add my newest acquisition to the Zombie Gun lineup. So here it is... John
  10. All my weapons are zombie capable. Here are two of my favorites. Eight hours a day is dark. If your depending on daylight to move around, YOU'RE FOOD!!! You have to have the capability to work at night. Both of these weapons are night time capable. In case you're wondering... I have a solar powered battery charger also... John
  11. I purchased my suppressor from Guns for America (3207 Powell Ave). Its near 100 Oaks mall in Nashville. The had the best price and the best selection. I recall they had YHM, AAC, and another name brand but can't remember what. There number is 615-463-3633. It took about 3 months for the stamp to arrive. John
  12. Check out this website for a comparison of prices. It has a database of who is selling and for what price. gun-deals.com - User-Submitted Gun & Ammunition Deals John
  13. As a Nashvillian, I wish the ZA would start here ASAP. I have some pent up frustration that I'd like to relieve. Like many here, I'd like to hold up and wait in place, but my fear would be that they'd all be killed before I got to kill any. I agree with many that have said, Nashville already has many zombies. John
  14. I'd like information on the zombie response team also. John
  15. The zip lock bag to apply case lube is my idea. It works great and saves a lot of time. I have to give credit to someone else for the Nu Finish car polish idea. When I was reading about reloading on the internet, I read about Nu Finish. When my Dillon polish ran out I gave it a try. To be honest, IMHO, I think it works better. John
  16. Here's some of my load data. 185gr Hornady XTP with 5.8 grains of Winchester HP38 seated to 1.135 (goes approximately 850FPS) 185gr Berry's Plated with 5.7 grains of Winchester HP38 seated to 1.195 (goes approximately 750FPS) John
  17. I'm all about a little work and little cost. I have both media based tumblers and an Ultrasonic cleaner. I use the ultrasonic cleaner for cleaning 5.7x28mm brass (so not to remove the lacquer coating). Ultrasonic cleaners works great but for big batches I don't use it. It takes too long for the brass to dry. I get batches of .223 brass in 1000 round increments (3/4ish of a 5 gallon bucket). Unless you rent a cement mixer, I see no way to tumble that much brass all at once. However I usually knock out that much brass in about a day. (LAZY PART) I get 1 gallon zip lock bags and put about 200 cases in the bag. I add about 10-15 drops of RCBS Case Lube 2 to the bag. Seal the bag, then kneed it like your making dough for bread to coat the cases in the case lube (I've also used Lee case lube). Then I resize and pop the primers out. Then I throw the cases in my Dillon tumbler with fine walnut media (CHEAP>>>HARBOR FREIGHT 25 lbs for $25) and a cap or two of Nu Finish car polish (the once a year car polish). The Nu Finish is a lot cheaper than fancy case cleaning polish and it works just a good. They come out great in about 2 hours (Time in the tumbler varies depending on how clean your media is when you start). John
  18. I reload 77 grain Sierra Matchkings for my AR now. I used to loaded the 75 grain Hornadys. Both will fit in a mag. 80 grains and up will not unless you have a special mag. My overall case length is 2.26" for the 77 grainers wth 23 grains of Accurate 2520 pushing it. Consider getting Reloaders Reference V9.3x74R. It has tons of load data and is free online. Be sure that your twist rate on your weapon can stablize a 75 grain bullet. I have to keep the 77 grainers separate from my other loads. My 1-8 twist barrel does fine, but 1-9 twists will not stablize that long of a bullet causing them to hit the target sideways. John
  19. I also have copies of the episodes. There is a part, where they are all sitting around a campfire and they are discussing the old guy winding his watch. One of the women says "Unless I've missed the signs. The world seems to have come to an end." They are well aware of the situation in the show. Whoever wrote the show (or group of people) is/are not trained survivalists. They are probably Hollyweird types that live in there perfect pink bubble thinking of dancing candy canes and gumdrop fairies. I love the show but hope they will seek the advice from someone with a bit more of a survivalist’s mindset for next season. What I'd like to see is someone like us, okay me... I want him to be just a regular guy before the zombie apocalypse, but someone that prepared for something like this prior. Someone that was thought of as a little weird prior to the situation, but ultimately proven right. Someone that once the zombie apocalypse started, recognized the situation and found a defensible position, fortified it, and continued to upgrade it, and his lot, until he was virtually impenetrable. Someone that did pick up that loose weapon or spare magazine and because of it, is living in a mansion on a hill away from everything. Oh yeah, I'd like that person to have a harem of adoring beautiful women that he has saved from the zombie hoards too!!! John
  20. I have the "ARMY AMMUNITION DATA SHEETS, SMALL CALIBER AMMUNITION TECHNICAL MANUAL" if you want it. If interested, PM me and I'll email it to you. John
  21. A friend of mine has a boatload of military .223 blanks. I'm sure he'd like to sell or trade some. I've PM'ed you. If interested, PM me back please. John
  22. I agree about the herd mentality. I've never been so scared that I totally loose my mind, but then again, I've never been chased by the undead. As for finding grenades and launchers, I bet there be stuff we've never seen before laying all over the ground. I have some pretty interesting stuff with my very limited budget. I'm know there are some wealthy folks (but not liberal) that are crazier (more concerned) than me. They gotta have some even better stuff. I'd love to find a Barrett .50 or a F/A M14 in the clutches of a dead person. I was a TOW (tube launched, optically sighted, wire guided missile) gunner in the Army (early 90's). When I was getting out of the Army, they were comming out with a new weapon called the Mk19. Its a machine gun that shoots gernades. They were going to be deployed with TOW units as protection against ground troops. It can fire 60 rounds per minute over 2000 meters (that's over a mile). They, like the TOW, mount on a Hummer. That's what I would be looking for. I'd love to have one of those for the chaos. John
  23. You may want to do a google search for "Reloaders Reference v9.3x74r". Somebody went through some trouble to load the data from many books into a spreadsheet. It has thousands of loads in a searchable database. I've used it for years. Its free and may have what your looking for. John
  24. Bring it on. Let the killing begin. I think we should put it in Government cheese. John
  25. That is great!!! I thought it was an original thought, but apparently I'm about 50 years too late. John
