Have any of you guys come across a bitchin camping spot while hiking around or glassing? Spot being defined as anywhere I can put a tent & have a fire. I’m looking for a week trip with just the dogs & do not want to see a human unless they’re passing through looking for game. I do not care if it’s “legal” so long as it’s not private property unless I can get permission which I’d gladly pay for (which would be ideal). I absolutely will not keep my shepherds on a leash & keep my fire in a 24” steel ring which is all I’m finding here. I’m a self employed general contractor, it’s been an insane summer & will not have the energy to pack kit in so a fire road or some sort of 4wd truck access is the only other criteria I’m looking to meet. I grew up at the base of the Sierra-Nevada’s & have spent over 70 nights between 7 & 11,000 feet in February, solo, so I’m no novice camper. Ive camped where the Donner party got stuck & resorted to the last resort. I shouldn’t have to say this but it’s 22; as an Eagle Scout I practice “leave no trace” & pick up random trash daily. I will not be hunting unless I see squirrels or rabbits to feed to the dogs. My mom & my grandma are dying & I absolutely have to decompress & find some peace before dealing with family & funerals. Any tips or contacts appreciated. Tristartradesmen.com has a brief bio for context & some personal info.

sale-or-trade Springfield Saint Victor 5.56
Ridin1 replied to Mr. Sorrell's topic in Firearms Classifieds
Heads up. This guys word means ####. He put me a day behind schedule at work, inconvenienced the clients for another day & cost my employees half a days OT pay. Never again will I offer to meet a guy 45 miles away at the exact location he will be, at the exact time he will be there. You shouldn’t either unless you do the same thing to people. The 4th Tngo member that’s not kept his word out of the 10 items I’ve offered to buy or literally give away. If you’ve ever flaked on a guy or gone back on your word you are literally the problem with America. -
I’ll come get them if they flake. I pm’d you my number.

Still looking.

I’m looking for an entry level pistol, nothing fancy as I’ve got that covered. Not too picky about anything-barrel length, condition, round count, etc. However, the lower must be either an 80% build or registered pistol when first sold. I will consider a grendel but would prefer 5.56. Shoot me a pm if you have something within a reasonable distance of Spring Hill.

Bad unit. Definitely looks cool & chucks a monster round down range. Might be super valuable in 10 years when literally all semi autos are illegal & all illegals are legal. Garandthumb just posted a video on modern 45-70’s. -
Wholly ####. You guys are way out of line. What about that was intended to be funny? And how could you even interpret it as intended to be. Your sensitivity is as out of place as your anger. An online comment is not the place to vent it. Go join the people’s convoy, it’ll make you feel good & relieve some tension. Just one person deciding to attack Willis’ business on social media or online is much worse than choosing to rename a knife called black class. He might need you then, to defend his name, not when a legitimate comment with his well-being in mind is made. Go advertise a series of knives called a black class knife & see what you get. Be sure to post em on Facebook. Especially if you’re an old white guy & you put a low price on them. Welcome to 2022. The anger, attitude & arrogance needs to be checked. If you’ve read this far-think about the fight your choosing to fight & why & then look at what’s happening in this country & think about that & how you’re helping her (or Willis). Unless you served in Vietnam; disregard everything. Welcome home. Omega; logic! I got most of those 209’s loaded up & have a few hundred left if you need some for the powder gun.

Sounds pretty racist. You’ll need to rename them so you don’t upset some rancid progressive

Alright guys, I’ll try to be detailed here. I have to move. The biggest logistical hurdle is an 1800 pound (empty) gun safe. The best method for moving this thing is to rent the largest skid steer available, place the bucket over top of the safe, strap the safe into the bucket, lift it & lay it on its back into the bed of a truck or onto a deck over trailer. The truck bed must have tie down brackets at the cab. If you’re up for transporting the safe from 37137 to a currently unknown location around Nashville send me a pm. Obviously there will be compensation unless you’re retired and looking for an adventure of course. Along with the safe there will be 8,000+ rounds of ammunition that must stay with the safe & within my eye site during the move. I’m guessing a combined 3000 pounds. The firearms & gun powder will be in my truck that will be towing the skid steer along with what ever else will fit to the new house. There will be minimal labor required on your part, maybe moving some 2x4 or short pieces of pipe used to roll the safe into the bed. A deck over trailer (no car haulers) would be easier but not necessary. If you know anyone with a large (1 yard bucket) skid steer I would pay them for letting me use it. Even better would be a guy with a 30 foot deck over & the skid steer but that’s pushin my luck. There is no better way or alternative method other than hiring a crew. I will also need to use the skid steer to remove 80 T-post I installed for the fence which I figure will take an hour. This also means I’ll have 2-90 pound shepherds to worry about. Since the moving date is unknown I can’t be held up with a companies schedule nor will I jam up their schedule. Once I find a suitable house things will be put into motion relatively quickly. Again, huge bonus if you’re retired & flexible. Ive never needed a hand moving this thing but logistically it makes sense to have a second truck, I have no idea what safe movers charge but I know a guy or gal gottsta get paid for their time. We could trade time for ammo as well. If you can help, let me know. Thanks.

Dog friendly Rental Home w/a Garage Needed. Nashville area
Ridin1 replied to Ridin1's topic in General Chat
Yea, ####ty times we’ve been forced into. Thank your local Democrats. Ive been looking for a place since December as I foresaw this coming last year. tristartradesmen.com -
My landlord just informed me she’s selling the house I’m renting because she can’t afford repairs. Go figure Ive never missed a payment & she mismanaged her money. It was inherited, no mortgage, pennies for taxes. No major repairs have been completed...ever! If you know anyone with a rental in the Nashville area that is big (outdoor) dog friendly with a garage please let me know. The size of the house is irrelevant but I definitely need a garage in a very safe neighborhood for tools & equipment. I have fencing to enclose the yard if need be. Tristartrasesmen.com will give them a good bio. Thanks, Tyler

Primers up for sale or trade. Pre-Scamdemic price, $120 & whatever deal is worked out you must drive to meet me in Nunnelly or Dickson. Send pictures of whatever you have for trade. I’m really looking for a high quality 3-5 day pack with padded shoulder straps & waist belt. Knives, Milwaukee fuel tools/batteries, Ammo, ground beef/steaks. If it’s sharp or dangerous I might be interested. Keep in mind $120 is pocket change these days & not worth any hassle whatsoever. You can fill up the tank in my truck if you want to use credit.

Unfortunate times brother. That’s a nice collection. Hopefully whatever the outcome is, it was worth selling.

Got some good leads here. I don’t mind the drive, it’ll just make a full day out of the trip to the range which is fine. And I’ll be less complacent about it. I’ve asked around at all the local gun stores & not one guy has known anyone that’s into relatively long range shooting. A couple hundred yards was the max which is pretty much what everyone around here can get on their properties. I’d love to get back out to 18-1900+ Yards. 1000 is still a pretty good click to get back into rhythm. It’s been a few years. Thanks for the replies.

I just moved to 37137 and I’m looking for somewhere to do some long range shooting. If you’re into long range & need a second guy for spotting we can meet up (I’ll need a spotter for anything over 4-500 yards too). I used to go deep into the Sierra Nevada’s & set up a 4 gun course. 4 mags through the AR, 4 through the pistol, 4 reloads of the shotgun then lay down and try to bang 10 at 1,000. It was incredibly fun & super challenging. Laying down with the chest rig & thigh holster added a second dynamic on top of being short on breath. I’d love to get back into this. I’ve looked into a few of the ranges and the waiting list is deep, plus it’s not super conducive for precision load work up and practice. Public land is ideal or if you know anyone with a lot of land I’d be more than happy to pay for access. I have no criminal record, an hcp & state/federal clearance from when I worked in the prisons. Any suggestions?

I finally have internet, Verizon went down last Sunday. Seems like the common denominator is: if it’s sealed it’s fine. Desiccant & dehumidifiers can’t hurt. I’ve spent a ton of time prepping brass & I’d like to keep as pristine as possible. I took a closer look at the devastation from the recent tornados & will be moving everything into the big safe in the back of the shop which is subterranean. Hopefully nothing big enough to yank 2000 pounds out of the shop hits here. When I volunteered in Nashville a few years ago it seemed like the bulk of destruction happened when a large amount of air was able to get under things or it was the impact from flying debris but I’m no tornado expert. ohell, I just might have a pistol, an ar & a few thousand rounds buried out in the back forty with some cash. There’s gotta be a lot of guys on here that make my cache look like child’s play. Doin 3 or 4 gun drills can kill 1,000 rounds in a few short hours. Adding long range into the standard 3 gun is incredibly challenging & fun. Im in the market for a dozen 50 cal cans with the snap latch on the end & rubber seals. Along with another 30 plastic cases.

Gentlemen (hopefully ladies too), In the next few months my stock pile will be complete & ive been thinking a lot about storage. Not safety, humidity. 15k rounds in 8 different calibers for reference. I was thinking about water tight 50 cal Ammo cans. However it seems that having the rounds stacked on top of each other would expedite corrosion even with silica packets in each can. Cardboard boxes I would think would help absorb moisture but then trap it. Then I got to thinking about air movement & was wondering if moving air would be beneficial. My Ammo safes are in the back bedroom with the best circulation from the AC/heat. Currently I have a mix of mtm cases for the match Ammo, personal defense .45 & the hand loaded .308. Everything else in steel cans, factory boxes & the shells are in big cardboard boxes. I have a lot of silica packets on every shelf. What are you guys using for containers? Have any of you stored Ammo for 10-15+ years in an environment like here in middle TN. Is there an ideal humidity level for polished brass cases & jacketed bullets? The reusable dehumidifiers that you plug in to dry out don’t seem to last with all the moisture we have here. I had been shooting so much in years passed that nothing sat for more than 8-9 months but that was back when Ammo was available so I never really worried about a stock pile. My main concern is the hand loaded match Ammo & the .308. Thanks

In stock as of this afternoon; 30,000-209’s/ lpp’s/ spp’s/ srp’s, (no LRP’s but on order) brass, wads, shot (8.5,9,5) lots of Lee & rcbs dies, a good selection of 1lb powder jugs, factory Ammo/shells, obviously a decent amount of weapons & accessories, etc. The best inventory I’ve seen for 2 years. Best part: pre-scamdemic prices!!! No bull####. $100 per 1000 primers, 1lb powder $27-35, complete die kits $40, wads $14, shot $50. You get the idea. I bought more than needed because the prices were respectful & that whole small business thing the government is trying to destroy. Check em out FYI: the brick & mortar is a separate business from their online sales so be sure to go to kings online web store if needing shipping LETS GO BRANDON!

7448 Weymouth rd NJ. Does anyone have any experience with this place or is it another pop-up firearms scam? Ive searched business listings, google, Zillow, etc & found nothing. Seems off that they have a lot of reloading supplies at pre-scamdemic prices. Plus there are many basic grammatical errors that foreigners typically make. Things a web designer would never let slide.

Tool for separating bird shot sizes?
Ridin1 replied to Sidewinder's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Look at archeological supplies. They have dirt sifters for every size imaginable. No doubt you could make one work. It’ll take 30 seconds once u get the mesh size you need. -
It’s a Texan progressive. I figured it out & im embarrassed. When I was shot shopping late one night I ordered steel instead of lead & then ordered claybuster wads.
-
Update; I’ve got the machine dropping exactly .74oz & this is the result Powder is right, claybusters cb0175-12 wads, 2-3/4 AA hulls. Any thoughts? Thanks

I finally got my press dialed in & have 2 complete shells. I know guys can tell a lot by the crimp, so... The 2 20g shells on the left are factory, my first & second shells are next to them. The second being closest to the factory shells. The press is currently dropping .65oz instead of the .75 I’m after. I had used some 2 part epoxy to decrease the internal diameter slightly to get from 7/8oz to the desired 3/4ox. Also, I am adjusting the wad seating pin, I had lowered the pin for the shell on the right & raised it slightly for the left shell. I’m wondering how far exactly to seat the wad onto the powder. Does it need to compress the powder or will the final crimp put the correct pressure on all the components? Thanks

My out of state buddy is willing to part with one of his 4 presses. What do you guys think it’s worth (I know, there’s a lot of variables in regards to function & cond)? I have used one previously at his house but have not used or seen the one he’s willing to sell. The one I did use was seemingly an excellent machine. I’m sure it will be fully functioning & dialed in. Thanks
