I have a good friend who's father recently passed. He found three suppressors in some of the gun stuff. Another acquaintance of his told him he would take them and get them sold for him.....I'm thinking that's a super big NO NO...My advice to my friend is to get them back and put them back into the house until we get more information on how to sell and transfer them. They were individually owned and not in a trust. He thinks he has the tax stamps and papers with them. He is the executor of the estate. Any advice on where to go from here. His acquaintance is not FFL licensed, so I think if he sold those to anyone, they could easily trace them back to my friend and there could be major issues....Anyone have opinions or advice, I welcome it...

I just purchased a savage 110 PCS bolt action pistol in 300 B/O. I will be using a SB Tactical FS1913a brace and will be running it suppressed. I am new to the LPVO options, I believe I have decided on the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6 LPVO. Now the hard part is trying to figure out the proper mounting height. Some say as low as possible which with the taper of the front of the pistol, the low mounts should work....I'm thinking the Vortex Pro Rings for mounting....Others say that the LPVO should be a bit higher to make it easier to acquire the sight picture. Most of the use will be indoor range, but occasionally I will be traveling to the outdoor range where I will try my hand at 1-200 yards, most likely nothing much farther than that for these old eyes. Anyone here have much experience with the LPVO on pistol type guns, I just am not finding much definitive info. Any opinions would be helpful. Thanks

.357 Sig.......tell me about it. Seems to be related to Bigfoot somehow
Cevans replied to JohnSutton1980's topic in Handguns
I purchased both a compact 357 sig and 10mm glock used in the same day. The 10mm I loved, the 357 sig was just too snappy for these old arthritic hands. I wanted to try some full power loads in both and many say especially a lot of the 10mm is watered down. I went to Buffalo Bore and purchased rounds for both guns. We shot the box of 10mm, but both me and my son in law passed on even trying the Buffalo Bore in the 357sig, seemed the regular stuff we were shooting was snappy enough. I sold the 357 sig and kept the 10mm which is my winter carry gun now. Your mileage may vary, several friends of mine love the 357 sig for carry, its just a bit too snappy for me, the 10mm shoots much flatter for me with much less recoil. -
Questions on Building a SBR on the AR platform
Cevans replied to Snaveba's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Some more food for thought. Since I live in Memphis, I am close to ranges in both Missippi and Arkansas where I can go to shoot longer ranges outdoors. I have a Daniel Defense PDW AR Pistol and was considering doing a form 1 and going SBR with a stock instead of a brace. I did have a friend tell me that I would have to have permission from the ATF to travel to any other state with a SBR, so for that reason I'm still rockin the brace.... -
Price Lowered to 450.00, great deal for a new one

I have a new, unfired Canik TP9SFX on classifieds if anyone is interested. Bought it on a whim, then tried a friends out and just did not do anything for me, but then again, most of my pistols I like are subcompacts.

I would second the Kershaw Leek, great size and weight, also not so expensive. I carried a Hinderer for a while, but just had issues with losing it....sooo much money. Sold it and carry the Kershaw now, if I loose it, I have more in the box for backups.

Two could be twice the fun

This was purchased and built by myself a few years back. The first time at the range, it would fire maybe 2-3 times and not go into battery. I had to use the forward assist. I looked and the charging handle seemed to be binding, they sent me a new one and its still does the same thing. I am thinking it may be an issue with the upper, but just won't mess with this one anymore, PSA lower, 223/556. It may take very little to get this one right, but it may be more than that. Durkin Tactical seems to be responsive to warranty issues, but I just don't want to dissemble the gun again, so I'm trying to pass it on cheaply for the guy who can fix it. $350

Canik TP9SFX MOS. This originally came with the Vortex viper red dot, but I used the red dot on another gun. This is unfired just as it came from the factory. It was an impulse purchase and I shot a friends and just did not connect with this one. $500.00

Sorry guys, I'm a bit slow today, its 357 magnum...Lots of fun with 38 but with full power 357 mag, not great for these hands with arthritis. LOL

This is a great shooter grade, I purchased it a few months back and just am not a wheel gun guy, selling for other interests. 6 Shot cylinder, 2.75" barrel. I am in Bartlett TN, suburb of Memphis. Prefer FTF meeting with permit flash. Thanks $500.00

I go to range USA formerly Shoot Point Blank here in Memphis. They have had several sales where they sell the used range guns. I know most of the employees by sight there and have been told by some employees to stay away from certain former rentals as they knew more about the history and round count on them. Most of the more common 9mm carry options were really used a great deal and the price difference was not good enough to take a chance. Those guns really take a beating. Sometimes a rare one doesn't get used much because of its popularity and those may be good bets, but most are really, really used guns.....

I have both a 20 and a 29 in Glock 10mm. They both are fun to shoot, so I decided to try some full power rounds, I purchased the Buffalo Bore heavy bullets. In the 20, they were fine, just a bit snappy. In the 29, they were downright uncomfortable for these old arthritic hands. After we shot those two, we shot the 357sig glock with standard ammo. It was also very snappy with standard ammo. I had some Buffalo Bore for that one two, but myself and my son in law decided to not try the 357 sig in Buffalo Bore since the pistol was almost uncomfortably snappy with standard ammo. Decided not to keep the 357 sig, it was just too uncomfortable, but do on occasions carry the 29, mainly in the winter where I have more clothes to conceal. That was my experience, your mileage may vary!

I live in Memphis and go to the Jackson gun show, the shows here in Memphis are worthless unless you want to pay a buck a round for ordinary ammo, or 1500 plus for a cheaply built AR, Saw one dealer here in Memphis selling PSA builds for around 12-1500 dollars with a cheap 40 dollar red dot, seems he was pretty busy, WOW..Jackson does seem to have a good selection of guns and ammo, also from time to time, they seem to have some really nice collectible knives like Randalls and the like...I think its a very worthwhile show, but who knows what happens from show to show.

Range day for me is a combo of 380, 9mm and 10mm. In the summer, I carry a Ruger LCP because it fits in my pocket easily. In the winter, I will carry a sub compact 9mm or the smaller Glock 10mm, which has become my favorite gun lately. In the summer, Im too small a guy to conceal the 10mm or 9mm and found myself not carrying a lot, so that's why I got the LCP, its easy to carry and always with me. Love a little 45 action at the range also.

Its now back on its way to be repaired, the day I used it, I really liked the mini red dot. On my shorty 300BO, I have an Eotech with multiplier. For some strange reason, I cannot seem to hit anything using that, but my son in law is quite accurate with it. But even he preferred the mini red dot to the eotech. He said the dot was so much crisper and easier to pick up and aim with, even with the brightness turned down the eotech seems to be always a bit fuzzy, probably just my old eyes, LOL.

No answers here yet, but I decided to answer my own question for those interested. I just purchased a Wilson Combat Protector AR pistol in 223/556. I wanted to try it out and I got a riser for the Vortex Viper to install it. Took it to the range a few days ago and the combo worked beautifully. Both my Son-In-Law and myself found ourselves hitting the target with more precision and consistency than we could with my other AR pistol, Daniel Defense PDW with Eotech sights. The Viper mini red dot is tiny compared to the Eotech, but the dot is super crisp and clear. The Eotech seem to always be somewhat fuzzy, even with brightness turned down. We both preferred the Vortex Viper and agreed its a good union. But, the rest of the story. I carry both my PDW and DDM4PDW to the range in a soft bag. Seems when I finished at the range, I loaded both guns in the soft case and zipped it up. With all the ammo we carry in the case, its likely a 60-70 pound bag to haul around, it's really heavy, especially for this old man. Any way when I got home and decided to clean the guns the next day, I pulled out the Wilson with the Vortex and the glass was shattered. Seems the guns were loaded sights down and me probably dropping the bag on the floor shattered the glass. Of course the Eotech was fine, probably would be fine if I drove my car over it....So, the mini red dots are workable on an AR platform, especially a pistol, but beware how you load and handle the soft gun bags, because the mini red dots aren't near as rugged as the Eotech. Lesson Learned the hard way....sight was sent back to Vortex today for repair, will be more careful in the future. By the way, I own several Daniel Defense ARs and have been a fan of Daniel Defense, the only issue I have with them is for the money, they should have a decent trigger. Several of mine have upgraded triggers, a Geissele 3 gun in one and a rise armament rave 140 in another. The Wilson Combat is their stock trigger. We had several people at the range shooting all the guns and over 75% preferred the Wilson Combat trigger over any of the others. I was impressed at the quality and fit and finish of the Wilson Combat AR Pistol, so if you are considering one, you will likely be pleased. I was not even looking at the Wilson for purchase until the store offered me a deal I couldn't refuse, so I took it home. I will likely be purchasing more in the future.
