The 3 largest and best shooting places are probably Unaka Rod & Gun Club, Cherokee, and Kettlefoot. I don't know of much of anywhere that has a good place to shoot that doesn't have memberships. As for pay as you go indoor shooting there's Barnett's Guns in Hampton, Gun Rack in Kingsport. I believe shooters Edge in Piney Flats has closed. There's also a free outdoor place to shoot in the National Forest off of 421 between Bristol and Mountain city. It's on the Bristol side of the mountain. However I wouldn't shoot there without a friendly armed cohort. Problem is the majority of voters are located in the non green area. The metro areas of VA has them screwed.

I bought one of these some time back. It'll shoot most anything and it's of a size that you can slip it into a pocket just fine. No problems with mine at all.
