We're so busy being anesthetised by TV and the internet, and wallowing around watching Nascar and football and eating crappy food and getting fatter and fatter that we just don't have enough brain power left to pay attention. All history tends to be revisionist history and we never seem to learn from it. If we did would we even BE in Afghanistan? This bears repeating: When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

What a surprise. I can't wait until next year when I have to generate 1099's for any business purchase over $600.00. I especially love the loss of education tax deductions. We certainly don't want an educated electorate that can deduce when BIGGOV is screwing us.

On this coming 4th, I have a lot of mixed emotions. I love that I live in the USA. This is the greatest place in the world. Our founders seem to have lived in a time that in many ways is similar to ours. There is definitely a force in the world that would take away our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I'm concerned that our own government is the culprit. If you have not recently read the Declaration of Independence please take a look and consider the similarity in our times in history. I am worried and upset that our government has lost its way. The modern world and its lobbyist and special interest have hijacked America. Our need for energy without some sort of intelligent plan has resulted in the BP oil fiasco. Some days I'm just not sure where we go from here. My point in this tirade of whining it that there is a small faction of America that seems to get it. I am happy to say that many of those who get it are well represented on TGO. I just want to thank my fellow brothers and sisters in arms here on TGO for keeping alive the ideal of America. May each of you have a wonderful holiday, and please remember the men and women in harm's way. God Bless the United States of America.
