  8. Great. You can't beat those little girls.
  9. In the same vein as the ALPR thread, what's your favorite or most meaningful scary movie portraying our possible future? For me Fahrenheit 451 got me started.
  10. Every day my brother.
  11. Hmm, this thread has taken an interesting turn. I'm not in any way concerned about LEO use of this technology. What does worry me is the ability to use this data to to compile yet another databse of info about individuals. Right now the one thing we have going for us is that FedGov is still incompetent about sharing and compiling all the data they accumulate. What worries me is that sooner than later some bright guy will manage to actually interface all the various acquired info. When that happens everything we do, everywhere we go, all our spending, all our bad habits, everything...will be available to those within our government whose job it is to make sure we are good and productive citizens. Whatever that means. Really, I'm not so much paranoid as cautionary. Modern life with this many billions of people on the planet will only get more restrictive.
  12. I suppose I'm just not very trusting. You build something like this, then you offer some type of "service" that persuades folks that it's a good thing, all the while building a system capable of tracking the movements or the citizens...I'm just saying. And it's not my local LEO I worry about, but everyone else that can access the system.
  13. It still sux. Thanks for the info.
  14. But they are a TN business. Isn't there one in Chattanooga?
  15. Can anyone tell me why these guys don't ship to a TN address?
  16. So it doesn't concern you that this technology allows your movements to be databased? Who decides if you're a criminal or not? With the patriot act in place you can be held without charges.
  17. Good job. Glad you're OK.
  18. Guess I'll have to spend my mad money quickly.
  19. Love it.
  20. Don't worry, it's coming. First they had to get you used to the red light cameras. Of course then there's all those ATM cameras all hooked up to networked systems connected to the web.
  21. I had the great pleasure of meeting up with an old high school friend. The knife maker Ed Van Hoy. His shop is something to see.
