There is usually a way to dispute the new assessment. If you have a friendly realtor or appraiser that can provide some sales of properties similar to yours in the area that show a lower value that usually helps. A full blown appraisal showing a lower value is probably the best way to fight it.

O I'm sure he or his staff have indeed been in touch with other politicians or staff. If not he would be in breach of his responsibilities. I'm talking about a lack of respect or empathy or possibly just plain old common decency. These are things we expect our governor to do. And..I'll remind you that McDonnell managed to get down to Glade Spring. Seems in poor taste to me.

This is a rant. So Governor Pilot Oil was in Chattanooga on the 28th viewing storm damage. On the 29th he was in Rossville dedicating a railroad facility. Why hasn't our esteemed governor come to NE TN where we had multiple fatalities? All talk and no action and once again the hillbillies of the State of Franklin are ignored. rant over. update: McDonnell made it to SW/VA.

Can anybody tell me if they've seen any reports about our governor visiting any part of the state that was affected by the storms?

The news from the NE part of the state is not too good. We have 13 confirmed dead up here in NE/TN and SW/VA.

Looks like the worst is over. Golf ball size hail on my new roof. Can't wait to check out the cars in the morning. Lots of wind and plant damage. We were lucky. I hope everybody's OK.
