I just had to have my dog put down. Very aggressive cancer. She raised our kids and had been with us 15 years. I sometimes wonder if the only creatures entitled to go to heaven might not be dogs.

There is definitely a place for disability. However, there's a guy down the street from me who is disabled who has been an active deer hunter for years and runs a private auto repair business. This is the stuff that pisses me off. There are definitely folks who deserve a finding of disability. But the fraud in the system is just insane. Like all government programs.

Interesting spin on this thread. I can only say that the poor will always be with us, and yes there needs to be a safety net in place for those who can't do for themselves. BUT, we have had this great social experiment that has allowed folks to abdicate their personal responsibility. We demand little from them. It only seems to me that the least they could do is not be a tester for a meth lab. Then there's the whole issue of the questionably disabled. I see guys with blue stickers jump out of pickups who walk a lot better than I do. I'm just sayin...
