Thanks I shot several flavors of 1911 belonging to friends, including the R1. I found the fit and finish on the remington to be very good for the price. Also I'm sure I'll start adding things to this gun, and once again the Remington looked like a bargain. Match grade barrel, nice trigger, and nice sights for old eyes.

Don't know anyone, but here in NE/TN I'm finding prices running in the range of $165.00 a square for 3 tab to about $220.00 a square for 30 year dimensional shingles. YMMV but that's at least a point of reference.

Not all. I suggest you hire the home inspector yourself. Make sure the inspector understands who he is working for.

I also agree with Dolomite. I would add that the other thing to think about is being able to access ammo from your enemy. That probably narrows it down the the AR or AK.
