Can anyone recommend a quail shooting preserve near Chattanooga? I would like to introduce my 9 year old grandson to the sport this fall. Used to go to Clinton Graham in Henagar, Al. but that was years ago and I live in Nashville now. Any help is appreciated greatly. Thank you. Jim

I have a Marlin 336 in .35 Remington. It's my favorite rifle and I took a 250 lb. boar hog with it some years ago. A lot of old time writers felt the .35 was ideal for hogs and black bear and I can't argue with them.

Some general information. Colt Police Positive - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colt_Police_Positive_Special I also like the Colt Forum. Colt Forum

Really nice guns. You might want to go to the Colt Forum as well to search MK III models. New to me Lawman Mk III questions and comments Only note of caution is don't dry fire without snap caps. The firing pin may break and replacement is a factory job as I understand it.

I got my grandson a Remington Model 7 youth model in .243. He's only 8 and it's a bit much for him now but I wanted to get him something he can deer hunt with in a few years.

I have a Glock 26 and a 36. Similar size. I don't normally carry either one but both have been flawless. They just run like they are supposed to do and I would not hesitate to carry either one. I do like the single stack in a .45 ACP. Love them both.

I believe this is the FBI data by SMSA. Looks like they've done the calculations. Interesting. FBI — Table 6

Do you have the numbers from the FBI data by MSA? Just curious.

I had one and sold it. I don't recall it being picky on ammo. It was easy to conceal in a pocket holster and I had it before the days of the plastic pocket pistols. Once they came out I saw no need for a .22LR when I could have a lighter weight larger caliber pistol to carry when I needed maximum concealibility.

I traded for a Glock 36 with another forum member here at TGO. I have smaller hands and it is a really good fit for me and shoots to point of aim. No issues with function. It just runs like it is supposed to do.

Is the Melting Pot in Nashville Posted?

We used to live next door to the owners of The Melting Pot. They are good conservative folks. -
I've had an old steel EAA (Tangfolio) Witness Carry Comp (compensated) in 9mm for many years. It is a clone of the CZ-75 sometimes called a TZ-75 and I've had no problems with it. Bought it used with two high cap mags. If it's an old one there may be problems with the firing pin being brittle. EAA will fix it free if it's on the llist. They did fix mine for no cost.

I just noticed this today and was going to post. Y'all beat me to it. I couldn't vote for anyone who is either so stupid as to think you can fire an "unloaded" gun or who is so arrogant that he thinks I am stupid enough that I'll fall for it. Please tell everyone who'll listen because it is intended to be subtle and have folks think he fired a gun outside his ex-wife's door. Vote this scalawag out. -
A Uberti SAA clone was the worst for me. I bought it new and it was beautiful nickel plated and perfect. First shot the nickel started parting ways with the cylinder and it only got worse. Uberti would take no action or even respond. Took a beating on it but got rid of it and won't have another Uberti.

I had a Webley .38 many years ago. It was very well made and one of the sweetest shooting revolvers I've ever owned. Traded it for a shotgun and I've wish I had it back many times. Think I paid $65 for it in about 1980.

2 3/4 copper plated number 4 is made in Remington Premier but sounds like they are very hard to find.

I appreciate it.

Thank you. I'll keep my eyes open.

Does any place around Nashville carry Nagant revolvers? Thank you for your help.

Try this link for a place close to you. Friends and I went to Quail Valley yesterday and had a great time. It is not near you but some of these are. Hunting Lodges in Tennessee | Tennessee Quail hunting | Tennessee Pheasant Hunting

My wife is also quite small just about 5'2" with a slight frame. A semi auto was problematic given the strength needed to rack the slide. A tip up Beretta would have solved that but she tried a S&W 34-1 .22 revolver that I had and liked it. The trigger pull was a bit stiff for her so I had a smith do an action job and I think it is ideal for her. She spent a day of familiarization firing at a range with instructors in an all female class and I believe that was also a good thing. Good luck with your wife finding the right gun for her.
