Well mrnick you already are here...from your posting on the Alumagrips thread. I have to say again that is a beautiful gun, nothin like a 1911.
  4. Not to hijack but Dear Lord that is a beautiful gun... You need to post that beauty on the 1911 thread on Show and Tell. Very nice.
  5. LOL that is great I suppose she did not know what to say to that.

    5 Shot 9mm Revolver

Congrats! Nice find I like Ruger's, I like 9mm, I have not seen one of these in person. If I ever found one I'd have a hard time not scooping it up.
  7. Welcome from another Noogan!
  8. Well done I'm all about VALUE brother and you sure got one there...hope it holds up nicely.

  10. Well done Nikki, +1000 to you. I have said my peace as well (in a respectiful maner as you did), but it means so much more from you. God Bless you, keep being strong!
  11. I think no response would be the best response.
  12. I for one don't think I would, I was just attempting to pose the easiest possible situation to just walk away from, and see what others thought. Personally I think not reporting would be a bad idea. All you would save is the time it would take to make the report, and you may be able to possibly get a bad guy off the street, or at a minimum have your version on record.
  13. Maybe I'm just paranoid but my new baby gets snap caps for dry fire practice, and I will not drop the slide on an empty chamber anymore.
  14. Yup..my safe is pretty decent for what it is. 1/4 solid steel all the way around and a very sturdy locking system, but I could cut a hole in the side of that thing with an angle grinder and a metal cutting wheel in a matter of minutes. I do have insurance if that ever happens.
  15. +1...what he said ^^^ and get some training.
  16. Nice errr....gun! And we wait....
  17. Thanks for the replies I was thinking the same thing...I was trying to present the easiest scenario to walk away from and see what the feelings were. I think if forced to draw it would always be best to report immediately, but I also think if you think of these things ahead of time it will be easier to do the right thing in a SHTF situation.
  18. Very nice...be safe. My wife has been itching to get out and shoot some handguns with me she has only ever shot a 10/22. Can't wait I know she will be hooked and probably get her HCP as well.
  19. Welcome, same here no help I prefer my guns to be behind 1/4 solid steel bolted to the wall and floor with a non electronic lock...but hey that is just me.
  20. This is a dramatic example of countless incidents recorded, and not recorded, of what was thought to be an empty chamber going boom. In the house but not in the room but all parties involved told the story the same: A cadet who had graduated that day from the Police academy. The department he was going to work for did not issue firearms only provided ammo for the approved pistols. His parents had purchased him a NIB Glock 17 as a graduation present. He was proud of it showing it off, and did the EXACT same thing as the OP explains here. Then hands the gun to a military vet who is admiring (fondling) the pistol.... boom round goes across the room between two peoples heads out a window and into the side of a cyder block wall in the house next door. EVERYBODY involved knew better. Including the 2 who sat across the room staring down the barrel of an "unloaded gun," bad night that could have been sooooooo much worse. God was with them all that night.
  21. So here it is.....you end up in a defensive encounter somewhere, anywhere. Your car, parking garage, walking the dog, etc. Somewhere no one else is really around. BG appears produces weapon, you fear for your life, you produce your gun, BG high tails it, all you see is elbows and heels. Pretty much the optimum result-- every other possible outcome would have be much worse. It all happened so fast that you don't really have any good information to pass along. Do you call 911 and file a report, and take whatever time that takes, or do you just head home to change your drawers. I really don't know what I'd do..... just thought I'd throw it out there for some discussion.
  22. Nice, love the 1911's
  23. Congrats...like new used guns are great finds. Save some $$ get a great gun...win/win.
  24. +1 on the .22 borrow one if you have too. I qualified with my P22. Some people in the class gave me crap about it but the instructor shut that down. Honestly I just did not want to waste any 9mm ammo and I knew I could score just fine with the P22 and I was not there to impress anybody. Ended up w the best score in the class by far. Good luck!
