  1. Direct quote from Uselton when point blank asked what he uses to build his house brand guns: "Good stuff." The follow up question was, "who builds them for you?" "I do."
  2. I've asked him several times and heard him asked by others. His answers are always vague. If he wants $2,500+ for a "custom" 1911, then in my opinion he should be willing to say what parts his smith starts with and who the smith is. I could be convinced that the parts plus the skilled labor could be worth a couple or three thousand dollars, but if he won't say, then I can't be convinced.
  3. I have j frames, a P3AT, a PM9, a Kimber CDP Pro II commander size 1911, a G19 and other guns. If I could have only one of them, I believe I would keep the G19. I've got nothing bad to say about the others, but the G19 is the best concealed carry handgun I own that is smaller than a 5" 1911.
  4. Went old school today: Colt O1918 with 230 gr. hardball.
  5. My PM9 is the gun I carry the most out of the 20 or so handguns that I own. How's that for an endorsement?
  6. Well done. I like that look.
  7. Toted the SA 1911 in a CrossBreed Supertuck today. Tomorrow is probably a Kahr PM9 in the Kramer ankle holster; gotta go deep concealment.
  8. Until football season is over for my younger son, Saturdays are out. I'd come on a Sunday, and I like the "weekend" idea.
  9. Made a point to go by and look today. Demos' downtown Nashville is not posted, as far as I could tell. Not sure what to make of that, given Peter Demos' publicized comments about posting. Perhaps he changed his mind.
  10. Moe's Southwest Grill, McCallisters Deli Cool Springs (Franklin) No signs.
  11. It's football season for one of my sons, so Saturdays are out for me.
  12. Handled one today. It had, for lack of a better word, shattered, during shooting. The guys were passing it around at the local gun shop today remarking upon the poor thing. Don't buy one, and if you own one, don't carry it.
  13. My experience was identical. Door to door in under a week, no cost to me except going to FedEx store.
  14. I'm an advocate of the PM9 because I have one and I have found it to be reliable and concealable. I did not like the PPS magazine release. The Rohrbaugh is not +p rated. I have a KelTec P3AT and it has been a good gun, but the Kahr is superior in quality. I've owned Taurus guns, but I haven't bought one in 15 years so I can't speak to recent quality control. No opinion on the Sig, never had one.
  15. City of Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen, by 6-2 vote, opted out, with Aldermen Burger and McLendon voting nay.
  16. ADAPT AS YOU SEE FIT: 21 July 2009 Peter Demos Demos’ Restaurant 1115 Northwest Broad Street Murfreesboro, TN 37129 Re: Handgun Ban Dear Mr. Demos, It is with regret that I write this letter. I have long enjoyed your family’s great restaurants. I am a 41-year-old, self-employed attorney and father of two. I make a comfortable living for my family and we dine out very often. I am also a local elected official, currently serving my third term on the Board of Mayor and Aldermen in Franklin, Tennessee. I also coach and sponsor little league baseball and football teams, and do other volunteer work in the community. I have never been arrested or charged with any crime. For the last fifteen years, I have been a handgun permit holder, and I have carried a handgun every day everywhere it is legal to do so. Your decision to ban handguns from your restaurants is, of course, your decision to make, and I trust you must have your reasons to do so. This, however, will result in me not patronizing your restaurants so long as you maintain this ban. Most of the quarter million handgun permit holders in Tennessee likely will feel the same way, and we are a very passionate and committed bunch of people. Your restaurant has already been posted as banning handguns on numerous websites frequented by handgun permit holders. Those same websites are disseminating the name and location of restaurants that do not post, as well. As handgun permit holders are by and large exceedingly inclined to obey the law, it is unlikely you will have any permit holders violate your posted ban, we simply won’t come to your restaurants. Despite the hyperbole and hysteria disseminated in the media, so far, I have not personally encountered a single restaurant that has posted a ban, I have only read about restaurants that have posted or plan to post a ban. I wish you well in your endeavors and invite you to reconsider your position. If you would like to discuss this matter with me, you can contact me at your convenience. Sincerely yours,
