Because the unvaccinated population can keep the virus in circulation. This has recently been a problem with anti-vaxxers and measles outbreaks. It has also been happening with polio in other countries. If enough of the population does not get vaccinated for a particular virus, then it can hang around and pose a threat to people who can’t have the vaccine (like the very young).

Hernando Desoto Bridge closed I-40 Memphis

If he really falsified reports, and never actually did the inspections, he is damn lucky it was found and the bridge closed before someone died If that had happened, he could very well have been charged with negligent homicide. -
Anyone here read the Dan Brown book Inferno? Spoiler alert. A virus (as opposed to a vaccine) is ultimately released that will randomly make approximately 50% of the population sterile. A more (I suppose) humane method of population control than what Thanos did by just randomly disintegrating 50% of the population.

Know those plants quite well (at least the CCR side of them). Not much steam pipe inspection at JSF anymore, unless it’s the CC plant. -

In which fossil plants were you monitoring steam lines? -
That’s just wrong

Semi. P365XL or Shield 9 with an extended mag. And as Papa61 said, I shoot better with a semi.

That’s a cool facility. We did some emissions testing from their chrome plating operation a couple years ago. It was awesome to see all the different steps in producing the fire arms. The military versions have their own area to assemble and inspect.

Got my two Wednesday. They are a little low to see through easily on my AR. I ordered a .75” and a .83” picatinny riser to see which gets the height correct.

I do not think that 94% were bogus. That is a false narrative. There were many where it was a comorbidity, but in a vast majority of those cases, I believe the patient would not have died when they did if they had not contacted Covid-19. Even if 50% were bogus, it would still be a 1 in 100 mortality rate.

The global death rate is approximately 1 in 50, not 3 in 10,000. Worldwide, 160M cases, 3.3M deaths. we can debate about how many of the confirmed deaths are from Covid-19 and how many are related, to Covid-19, but based on your mortality rate, only 48,000 of the 3.3M world wide deaths would be from covid-19.

Same. I needed a red dot for my 22LR/.223/5.56 build. If it won’t handle the force of .223/5.56, it should handle the 22LR. So I grabbed 2

Ditto. I work with several engineers who went to TTU. Another guy I have worked with for over 20 years, both his sons graduated from TTU.

In some cases, say terminal cancer, advanced heart disease, etc, where someone was near death’s door, and then they contract covid and die, the complications of covid likely hastened their death. In those cases, I agree that calling it a covid death skews the data to a small extent. In these cases, maybe it would have been better to list the cause of death as cancer, or advanced heart disease, hastened or complicated by Covid-19. But today, obesity, high blood pressure, and other co-morbidities are managed so well that the conditions are not nearly as fatal as they used to be. Until you add a new complication like Covid-19. Then the body can’t handle the stress of fighting covid-19 and the other health issues and the patient dies. I would guess that if you looked at the death statistics of many more common illnesses (flu, pneumonia, bacterial infections, etc) you would find that in many cases, there were co-morbidites of the same kind we see with Covid-19 that made the illness more fatal.

The existence of a Co-morbidity does not mean the statistics are incorrect or they covid is not the cause of death. If you have high blood pressure or diabetes, or are obese, but are managing those issues, and then you contract Covid-19 and subsequently die from Covid-19, they will list the co-morbidity. You were fine and dandy, and trucking along, managing your health issue until you got covid. COVID-19 is the reason you died. https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-factcheck-94-percent-covid-among-caus-idUSKBN25U2IO

Had my second shot today. The coffee at the office tasted like crap. But then again, it could have just been bad coffee. I’ll report if I have any negative effects (other than a sore arm). Obviously I don’t have a problem with the vaccine. I do trust science, and I do think folks should get the vaccine. But as Allycat72 said, it is a personal decision. I will not fault anyone for deciding to either wait for more data, or for deciding to not get it all together.
