  1. Ok. 6.5 Grendel or 6.8 SPC
  2. I remember hearing about blood-type and COVID severity back early last year not long after I had it. I recall feeling good that I am Type O.
  3. Ditto. I love shooting mine with 22LR. Not a lot more cost ($150-$200) but adds cheap plinking possibilities.
  4. Not to completely hijack the thread, but I want to build another rifle. I have a leftie 5.56 M4 style carbine, a .223 Wylde with a 19” barrel (had to rethread the original 20”) with a match style hand guard, And a carbine length 300BO. I kind of want to build something to reach out and touch from a far. I am wondering should I stick with the AR15 platform and go with one of the larger calibers that will work. In doing this I could start with just building an upper. Or, I could jump to the AR10 platform. I would have to build both the upper and lower. i want to start collecting parts, so I need a direction.
  5. Well there you go. We all have 11 days left to ship firearms with FedEx. (If we are not an FFL). IIRC, my first AR was shipped via FedEx to my FFL. Of course I think the builder/shipper also held an FFL.

    New Gun!

Ditto on the octagonal barrels. They are just cool.
  7. What were they asking for 300BO? I’ve been looking.
  8. Prayers to your family on a speedy recovery
  9. Memphis…… nuf said.
  10. Those are expensive trips to the range at today’s ammo prices.
  11. I just saw this. Sounds like all the prayers have helped (and I do believe they do). That said, you both are in my prayers tonight. I pray your wife continues to heal and you both are well. DJTC45 - I pray you heal and pray for you to have continued strength to fight this.
  12. That came out wrong on my part. I meant $30 worth of honey (3lbs) to make a gallon of mead.
  13. Is Mead really so good as to spend $30 per gallon on honey to make it? Now, if you have your own bees, then the honey is much less of a cost (other than the time and effort spent tending hives, extracting honey, etc). Does good mead cost >$30 per gallon?
  14. That’s a good idea. Purists say don’t take it above about 110 deg or you may destroy the natural enzymes. I have a design for a “hot box” that uses a light bulb to heat the box. I will try the oven trick and monitor the temp.
  15. Ain’t that the truth
  16. All honey will likely crystallize eventually. It is a super saturated sugar solution. The higher glucose to fructose ratio lends itself to crystallize more quickly. You can put it in a hot water bath (100-110 deg) and it should. liquify. If it has not been sealed really well and the water in the honey has been allowed to evaporate it may crystallize more quickly.
  17. Pulled the last of my honey frames on Wednesday. Got another 72ish lbs (6 gal). This honey is darker with less of a floral tone, more “full bodied”.
  18. According to my wife, I am turning into a “grumpy old man”. I agree my patience with stupid people is less than it used to be and I let the “little things” get to me too quickly.
  19. I can’t say I agree with all of Phil’s opinions, or for that matter the opinions of a % of the TGO (or the world), but I am also not an A$$ (although my wife might disagree at times). If someone doesn’t agree with me, or if I think their stance on a subject is wrong, that’s just life. In MY world, It’s not my place to: a) Tell you you are wrong because I think you are (and be a about it), b) Get mad at you for not agreeing with me, c) “Convert” you to my opinion However, if someone wants to have a rational discussion on the subject, and the result is one of use changing our mind on the subject, that’s fine.
  20. Gives a new meaning to “3-round burst”
  21. I try to put a few rounds of .223 or 5.56 down the pipe when I am done to clean out the gas system.
  22. Boring project update calls
