The Henry 22 (no offense HiPoint) just did not feel as well put together as I hoped. The Rossi was a sweet shooting rife. I just have a thing for older and vintage rifles. My oldest is a 1922 Winchester SRC, my newest is from 1980 (Marlin 375 Winchester). I started of slowly and quickly went all in. It did help that circumstances in life compelled me to divest of all my ARs and related supplies which were quickly turned into lever guns.

A savage 99 is on the list. I will probably try to stay in a caliber I already have (most likely 35 rem). i started with one Henry 22 and now have 7 Marlins, three Winchesters, plus a few other cool old rifles. I have sold the Henry as well as a Rossi, a Marlin and a Winchester. I guess since late 2021, I have bought 14 lever guns.

It is definitely a rabbit hole to fall down. looking back at the thread I started a couple years ago, I started with a Henry 22 and don’t even have it anymore.

    Well you need .35 Remington, 32 Winchester Special, .375 Winchester, 444 Marlin…..

Yes Greg, the 99 Savage is a sweet lever (I don’t yet own one). But what caliber. I like Winchesters and Marlins. You can’t go wrong hunting in TN with 30-30.
  8. Marlin Model 60, Marlin Golden 39A, Winchester Model 63
  9. Not sure if we really have to worry about that. I’m guessing Vrabel will end up at New England
  10. RIP. I expect President Carter to follow soon. While he was a so-so president, he was a great humanitarian and Christian.
  11. Man, the Titans just blow.
  12. My best AR was a home built blem Anderson lower, no-name mil spec upper and a decent 300bo barrel. The lower parts kit was probably BCA, I did put a nice stock and decent forend. It shot like a dream. I’m sure I can buy it back from my buddy if I ever think I will own an AR again.
  13. Wow, that’s the third Saber Defense rifle this month. GLWS.
  14. I sent them a message
  15. After reading a few threads on another forum, I might try the dovetail cutting myself. However, I think the threading of the barrel may cost more in tools than GS fees. (If I can find a true gunsmith in the area, and not just a “builder”)
  16. I am contemplating building a Trapper in 30-30 if I can pick up a “needs a lot of work” Marlin I am following on an auction. Anyone know of a good gunsmith in the Nashville area who can cut the barrel down to 16.5” and thread it for a suppressor? I will also need a dovetail cut into the top for a front sight blade and the bottom for the mag tube holder
  17. Surplus ALICE gear I have picked up. Includes web belt, canteen and holder, butt pack and suspenders. All probably came from Freidman’s in Nashville Located in Nashville $25
  18. This is a VISM Tactical Scabbard I picked up here on the TGO. I don’t have ARs anymore and it is too wide for a lever gun. Located in Nashville. $20 obo
  19. I picked up this plate carrier from a member here but I have never done anything with it. It is in good shape. No plates included. Located in Nashville. $25
  20. Have one, these shoot great. GLWS
  21. So, I was up in the school part of Covenant Church with my wife yesterday. The school is not yet back in the space (thank you BWCC for the space you have allowed the school to use). I had not been in the building past the front foyer since the shooting. Lots of changes since I was there when TCS was still in the space. But they had a lot of damage to fix. We had to walk down the third grade hall to pick up some tables and it required us to walk past where the children were murdered. It was hard. There is not evidence of anything except they have blocked off that stairwell for the time being. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t choked up. Anyway. I just needed to get that out. Thanks.
