Must watch movie/television recommendations & interesting shows
Snaveba replied to Links2k's topic in General Chat
I want to watch this as well. I will probably wait until I can either binge watch it, or at least watch an episode every night. -
Can you really have enough 22’s or lever guns?
-
Not having really looked at Winchesters I’m 22LR before, is the excitement on this because Winchester hasn’t made one in almost 20 years, and the price is better? How is this different than the 9422?
-
I may need to hold one and see how it feels.

I just re-watched Season 1. It was just as good the second time. -
My 45-70 has a mild crescent butt plate and was not bad. The 444Marlin is a normal butt plate. The 38-55 should have a carbine butt plate but I can’t find one so it has a recoil pad.

I finally shot my 1970 Marlin 1895 in 45-70. It didn’t kick quite as hard as I was expecting it to. I also shot the 1893 in 38-55. I like that rifle.

I was thinking about it for a min. I don’t need to start some other addiction. I’m already toying with early 1900’s pump action 22s (in addition to my major addiction) -

I saw John Cougar Mellencamp “Pink Houses Tour”. Great concert Saw Buffett there in 1989 with the Neville Brothers opening. -
I have one of these and mine shoots great. GLWS
-
Well, you were the one who gave me my first “hit”. But @KahrMan has helped keep me addicted.
-
Don’t worry @KahrMan, I blame @hipower for my addiction.

Nice rifle!!

I know this photo is in the thread. But I wanted a threaded trapper in 30-30 so I made one from a really rough 1957 336. I had to find parts, cut down the barrel and I had Morgan Richey at Class 3 Machining thread the barrel. I think it turned out nice. If you want to let some of the subsonic 30-30 go, let me know. (the can is still in jail)

I stated to say “ but I don’t care for “tactical lever guns”.

Well, I am partial to JM Marlins. However, you’re not going to find a JM Marlin in 30-30 with a threaded barrel, unless you do it yourself. The R95 is new and that is Rossi‘s “copy” of a Marlin 336. I’ve held one and they seem pretty solid. For some reason I’ve never been a fan of Henry center fire. I think it’s because they used to not have side gates. My first lever gun was a Henry that picked up from @hipower. I believe Ruger/Marlin actually has a trapper out now in 30-30 now, but they are $$$$. https://palmettostatearmory.com/marlin-sbl-336-30-30-win-19-1-6rd-lever-action-rifle-gray-laminate-70905.html or this if you can find one https://palmettostatearmory.com/marlin-model-336-dark-series-30-30-win-16-25-lever-action-shotgun-black-70497.html Between the two you listed, I would probably get the Rossi.

Thanks. It’s not perfect. I was using a table top belt sander to remove excess wood on the stock, and I pushed it a little too far. But overall, I’m very happy with the results. It stated like this:
-
Well, I did just sell one, so net zero gain.

It’s well documented (in this thread, by me) that I have a problem. I also have a 1907 Winchester Model 94 in 38-55 on the way. And a buddy picked up a 1923 Winchester in 30-30. both are octagonal barreled.
