  1. If Bonnie was a blond....
  2. I do still like my shield. I will likely put an Apex trigger in it at some point. Just put one in my M&P 2.0 9mm and can’t wait to shoot it. Feels so much smoother with a crisper break and nice reset.
  3. I hope FedEx still runs tomorrow. My new AR is sitting and waiting for a Monday Delivery to my FFL.
  4. Be careful out there. It’s not doing that much in Nashville yet, but there is already a very thin coat of ice on things. Looks wet, but it’s ice. I already slipped once on my driveway.
  5. I started with a Shield 9 1.0 as my EDC but loved the P365 from the first time I held it. However the 2extra rounds were not enough to make me switch. Then the p365 XL came out. With the extra 4 rounds and the ability to mount a red dot, I was sold. It is now my EDC with a Holosun 507K. I carry it appendix in a Total Concealment Tier 1 holster. It is very comfortable. I’m not fat but not skinny. I did have an issue with difficult racking (Which was a documented problem). I found it to be the disconnector not being shaped correctly. I replaced it with one from a P365 (order from Sig) and it fixed the issue). I have not shot a Hellcat.
  6. I remember the $90 box as well. I picked one up for a co-worker. They also had the 200 round boxes of Winchester green tip 5.56 for just under $90 before Christmas. If they have ammo, they always get some 9mm. This was the first I saw 45acp (when I have been there) since before Christmas. First 5.56 as well. They had .223 the Friday before (grabbed 360 rounds). Last Monday was supposedly a good ammo day. Friday they apparently had a good number of 200round packs (I am guessing 50ish) of Winchester 9mm. Unfortunately there were about 35 people in front of me so they not had 50 round boxes left. I’m glad there was some 5.56 left at 9:30. I was probably leaving (silver Expedition) as you came in. I have seen spotty 22LR. But not in a while. I will be curious if they get a truck tonight and if there will be a line tomorrow with the winter storm approaching. Might be a good day to go. Not sure if it is worth my car in a ditch for a possible 400 rounds of 9mm.
  7. Well the line is getting longer earlier at the Cool Springs Academy Sports. A couple things to note. Academy Sports had corporately changed their policy to only 2 boxes per person. However they are not limiting the size of the boxes. If they have a 200 or 300 round box, you can get two. Before if one box was 150 rounds or more, the other two boxes had to be less than 150 rounds. They can’t really keep you from going back through the line, although they discourage it. Their prices are creeping up. 9mm was about $0.37 per round today. Last time I was there it was $0.30 per round. Last week .223 was about $0.50 per round. Today 5.56 was $0.60 per round.
  8. Well, I did not win. And I assume none of you all won either.
  9. So I wonder how many folks entered the contest in the 72 hour window the contest was open?
  10. So I am planning an AR build. Not too fancy, but I shoot left handed. I would rather not have hot brass flying across in front of my face. I see that Stag Arms sells a left hand eject receiver. Are there other companies make left hand eject receivers? Does that have to be mated with a left handed lower or will it work with any lower? I assume barrels and other parts will work with any receiver. I seek the wisdom of the TGO.
  11. And not in the fun way.
  12. Bernie would probably destroy them.
  13. Capitalism not Socialism
  14. Ok. So I will sell 4000 rounds to the TGO @ $0.30 to buy the AR. 3000 rounds at $0.80 to the general public to make $2400 for taxes now I have a decent AR and 7000 rounds of 5.56 NATO for no out of pocket expense. Plus hopefully some happy TGOers who got some inexpensive ammo.
  15. If I win this I guess I need to sell enough to buy myself a nice AR. And I will do it here on the TGO. And I will sell it cheap because it was free to me. Like $0.30/round cheap. .
  16. Well don’t forget it completely. you still can’t shoot some but who is leaving your house.
  17. It does. But shooting somebody who is leaving your house and is no longer threatening your life is not justified.
  18. Alleycat, I will not profess to be the best Christian. But will say that I believe in the power of prayer and power of prayers given on one’s behalf. I have not lost a daughter, but I have a daughter and I know how important they are. I would be lost if she were gone. there is a longer story here but this is not the time. The short story is I had recurrent Hodgkins Lymphoma many years ago and was in the hospital about a month for a stem cell transplant. my pastor, as well as strangers would stop by and ask if I wanted a prayer. It helped. It helped just to have someone else carry the weight I was feeling, even if it was for a few minutes. It also helped to know friends and strangers we’re praying for me and my wife. So, a prayer from me to you and your family that you may have some peace, that you may have some comfort, and that you get to have as much time with your daughter as possible.
  19. Sweet pre-‘24 Colt. What year was it made?
  20. I like how the sweepstakes says the value of 14,000 5.56 Nato rounds is $8,500.
