  1. I have not read the current bill to pass constitutional carry in Tennessee so I am not familiar with what if any stipulations there will be. I believe it the right that we all have under 2A to keep and bear arms. However, I do take a little personal comfort (maybe rightly, maybe ignorantly) that if there are folks around me who are carrying, they have had at least a some instruction in the use of a handgun and at least have been introduced to the laws regarding the legal use of said firearm to defend themselves or others. As responsible gun owners, we all understand that it is incumbent on us to train, learn, and be safe. Unfortunately there are A LOT of irresponsible people out there. With constitutional carry, any yahoo who can legally own a handgun, can carry said handgun even if they have never held one before, shot one before, or have any knowledge or understanding of the laws and regulations pertaining to its use. I think about the lady who took it upon herself to shoot at a fleeing shoplifter, hitting the store employee instead. I don’t know the laws in the state in which that occurred, but in Tennessee she committed several felonies. I’m not saying a 60min online class to get your CCP or an 8 hour class to get your ECP makes us safe. But at least it opens the door to the knowledge needed to carry a handgun responsibly.
  2. My wife has the 380EZ and so far has put about 300 flawless rounds through it.
  3. Out of curiosity, who loans ammunition?
  4. The Holosun 507K is what I run on my EDC. I do like the option of different reticle size and brightness. I can see the possible benefit is seeing more of the surrounding scene in the window. To me the smaller one is just a way to project the dot in my field of vision, but I don’t really try to “see” the target through the window.
  5. Reading back through this thread from about a year ago and came upon this post of mine. Wouldn’t we all love to pay $0.25 to $0.29 per round for 9mm. The $0.18 per round I paid for PMC this time last year seems like a dream.
  6. Looks kind of like an old over-under.
  7. I totally understand. I don’t have thousands of draws with my pistol. I recognize that practice makes perfect and the more I practice bringing the red dot up to target, the easier it will be in the dark. I do wonder with the larger window on a red dot sight for a full sized pistol, it would be easier to locate the reticle in the dark.
  8. Biden did it to honor the 500,000 dead from covid.
  9. No, that was DeSantis in Florida
  10. I think if I still had rear night sights on my P365XL it might make acquiring the dot in the small window in the dark easier. I can see the front sight in the dark, but with nothing to line it up with, and with no visual of the window, it is tricky. A lot of dry fire practice would probably help with the muscle memory.
  11. Looks like a neat range. I need to get to one long enough to sight in the new AR. And my buddy wants to shoot his M1. if we get down that way I will let you I know. thanks
  12. I almost pulled the trigger on a Masada, for a full sized red dot pistol. Ended up getting a P365Xl with a Holosun. I like the red dot for my near sightedness. I can see the dot and the target, instead of either the sights OR the target. I do want to shoot a full sized pistol with a larger red dot to see how it is. a down side of the red dot, at least with the smaller ones is in the dark. The window is small and it is not as easy to get on target. As such l, my home pistol is my M&P 2.0 with night sights. Much easier to see those sights in the dark.
  13. I figure a “left” handed gun would be less offensive.
  14. So my new AR-15 arrived (finally) after being lost in the FedEx package backlog from the winter storms. It is a left handed build with a Stag Arms upper and a PSA lower. Only iron sights at the moment. Trying to decide on a reddot or other optic. I can’t wait to get to the range.
  15. “Ok, now just stand really still.......”
  16. Well, to be honest, I have been driving the Jeep. The FJ needs a little work to run well in the cold.
  17. You caught that
  18. We measured 5” of snow/sleet on the back deck this afternoon. SW Nashville near Lipscomb. yes I still have Christmas lights up. Made for a nice photo.
  19. The Holosun 507k is very nice on a p356XL. I don’t have an issue with the slightly longer grip.
  20. California, a nice place to visit. But it’s nice to always come back to The Great State (of Tennessee)
  21. Glad to have you aboard.
  22. I hope everyone is staying warm and safe.
  23. Or when we have the extra cash to spend . And right now, with ammo prices going through the roof every where but Academy Sports, I am making it a point to find the extra cash.
  24. Me buying 3 boxes of 50 rounds on seven trips to academy spots is not any different than me buying 1050 rounds on one trip.
  25. I don’t think many folks on the THO are buying up the $1.00/round or more ammo off gunbroker. And when you can only get 2-3 boxes of 50 from Academy Sports, it takes a few trips to get any quantity.
