  2. So my latest acquisition in the realm of lever guns is a Marlin model 1889 born in 1890. Octagonal barrel, chambered in the venerable.44-40. Looks to be all original. She is old but still shoots straight. The condition was a bit more rough than I thought it would be (the auction photos were dark), but a little TLC to the wood and some gentle work on the barrel and she looks better. The barrel and receiver are mostly now a dark brown patina (rust). The barrel was a little rough. Not wanting to hit it with sandpaper which could round the edges of the octagonal barrel, I took a chance and ran a Case Knife oil stone up and down the barrel flats with lots of oil, it worked like a charm.
  3. Oh, I’m not selling all my lever guns. I just sold the ones I wanted to sell to finish paying for the jeep. I guess I still need to post a picture of my most recent purchase.
  4. I’m looking to add another birth year Marlin to the stable. The Model 1894 was re-released in 1969. I had one from 1976 but sold it recently. If anyone has one from 1969 they want to let go or if you hear of one or see one, please let me know.
  5. I do get Chattanooga direction at times….
  6. No, there are not any marks on the butt plate. I actually have never seen any type of marking on the butt plate of a SRC before.
  7. This is a used but not abused Warn 9.5ti winch. I came on my jeep with I bought it. One previous owner who wheeled the jeep for a few years then it was mainly driven on the street by his daughter. Includes the control switch (not pictured) plus what you see. Asking $700. Located in Nashville.

  9. I fixed the listing for accuracy @Cajun
  10. Out of curiosity, why does it have to go through an FFL?
  11. Congratulations Bill. I’m gonna have to get used to Skinny Bill. One day (but hopefully not too soon) I will have a grandchild. My daughter is not quite 20 and a sophomore at SCAD so I hope it’s a few more years.
  12. Is it chambered in 5.56Nato?
