I took this course as my first real training course (the HCP course really doesn't count). Two primary components, lecture/classroom work and range work. The lecture portion was outstanding - nothing earth-shattering but presented in a way that allows you to convert that "this situation doesn't feel right" to I know why this situation feels wrong which will allow faster and more intentional responses. As someone subject to analysis paralysis, having the patterns of bad guy behavior explained will make it much easier to take action instead of standing on the street wondering why the situation feels wrong.
The shooting component was great. As someone limited to a no draw from holster indoor range for most of my shooting, the ability to combine moving, drawing and firing was great. I got better and more importantly learned what better feels like so that I can monitor myself to prevent bad habits from coming back. We got a lot of drills in and there was a lot of personal attention to my technique and motion.
I recommend Randy as an instructor and am looking forward to taking future classes from him.
