  1. I had a set of Truglo TFO sights on a gun I picked up on a trade. The rear tritium insert fell out after around 100 rounds. I gave Truglo a call and they replaced the sight no questions asked. I sent the slide, and a gunsmith called me the day it arrived and had it repaired and in the mail. From now on, all of my night sights will be Truglo.
  2. I am looking for a cheap red dot scope for my Rock River AR. I would like something like an Eotech, but I don't want to pay that much for punching paper. What brands should I look at? Truglo?

    Kahr

Good decision on the Kahr for carry.

    Kahr

Why did you go with the .45 over a .40? I think a.40 is a better round in a short barrel.
  5. I would spend the extra money to get a Kahr PM. I don't like the shape of the 709 grip. I also don't think you can beat the trigger on a Kahr, as far as a DAO pistol goes.

    Kahr

The PM 40 is definitely worth the money. I had a CW40 and had a lot of trouble out of it. The PM 40 has 200 rounds out of it and no failures. It is more accurate than any glock I have shot. I had a LCP that I traded for this gun. The size difference is minimal, but the firepower difference is huge.
  7. I think the only problem with a LEO trade in is that they are usually shot to death before they are traded in. You can easily replace the springs and barrel if you need over time, but you might as well pick up a new or a gently used Glock from the forum here. You get what you pay for. As far as problems with models, I have heard that the g30 has had a lot of problems. I had one and really liked it and regret selling it. I would go with a 3rd gen. It has a better feel than previous generations and has a rail. I still think the 4th gen needs a little more time to prove itself.
  8. It is around $50 at most stores.
  9. Could you not get the front strap checkered? I think I would go that route on a 1911 type gun.

    Sig P220 .45acp

I picked up a 220 elite from a member here. I don't have many guns that I would not sell, but this is one of them. The quality and reliability are there, like on all sigs. It has a great weight. The elite has the SRT trigger installed from the factory. I would recommend that over the regular trigger that I have on my 226. The accuracy is on par with any 1911 that I have shot. The only con that I have is the 8 round mag, like 1911s. I have seen a 10 round mag made by sig, but I haven't heard anything about reliability with it. Another con is the price. They aren't cheap, but you are paying for a real quality handgun. I have seen the videos and read about the torture tests with these, and they are pretty indestructible. Alternatives would depend on your preference. If you like polymer look at a XDM or XD. I like the grips on those better than a Glock in a .45. I have a .40 in a XDM and love it. It is tough to beat a good 1911. However, I would go with my sig over my Dan Wesson and not think twice.
  11. Thanks Jeff. That's what I was worried about with the Micro. The PM is a smaller gun but the .40 ammo is a little heavy. I have looked at the MTAC, but side by side it is a little thicker, and I would be able to conceal the Mini a little better. I also like the hooks on the Micro a little better.
  12. Add another victim to the list.
  13. I am looking for a good IWB holster for a Kahr PM 40. Should I get the micro clip or the mini tuck? MicroClip MiniTuck
  14. I have the AR scope. It is spot on out of the box with cheap 55 gr ammo. I believe it is calibrated with the 55gr bullet at 3100fps, which is off the shelf walmart .223 ammo. That's all that I have shot with it. So really, not much help.
  15. Looks like good stuff, but he isn't taking any orders.
  16. Most comfortable I have had. SuperTuck Deluxe
  17. I will probably go with a Don Hume. The gun is really more of a bedside gun than a carry gun. If it were a carry I would also order the Bullard.
  18. I like that, but I don't want to wait for 12 weeks.
  19. I am looking for a OWB holster for my XDM .40. I haven't found many options. Any suggestions? I prefer leather to kydex.
  20. Barsto is the best place. EFK makes a pretty good product too. Stormlake will be making a barrel in the near future.
  21. I like the 229. I don't know if the mags are interchangeable, but the 229s I have seen have a higher cap mag than the 228.
  22. What is the going rate of a Ruger Redhawk with a 7 3/4" barrel? Looks new with low round count.

    G22 conversion to G17

Really you should just sell me the 22 and buy a 17 if you want to go with the 9mm.

    G22 conversion to G17

It sounds more like trigger pull than anything. It is very different from a 1911 trigger. I think that would partially explain the low and left.
  25. I am wanting to get a good pocket knife. I don't have a real purpose for the knife, but just want one to carry. I get 40% off SOG knives. Does anyone have any experience with those? They have a ton of models. I like the looks of the Flash.
