I just surpassed 50, yes fifty brown outs today. Thunderstorm over head even messed up my battery powered atomic clock (was odd seeing it zip the minute hand around about once every 20 seconds...got a video). It's been so bad I switched on my phone as a wifi hotspot and am running the important stuff off the solar battery bank. Can't imagine every brown out spanning the last 7 hours is due to individual tree/branches on wires or cars hitting poles. Am I wrong or does the grid seem ultra weak/susceptible here in TN? Gotta love MLEC. *Scratches note reading "NEED MORE BATTERIES ASAP"*

I whole heartedly agree with the Chrysler is junk statement. I owned a few that were built at what I thought was the height of their crappiness, late 80's early-mid 90's. My daughters 300M has been a nightmare. Were they running stock brakes? No upgrade package on the police line, or was that their 'upgrade' package? I can see them not being the best thing to sit in for 8hr every day. Electrical on all the manufactures is goofy. I'm looking hard at you one eye'd Chevys. Don't laugh Ford, I've ripped your nervous system out of my truck and put in a Rebel harness..... I like my tail lights to function and all it requires is a dedicated ground wire....cheap fools.

Yeah, the New Madrid fault does concern me a little. But after living up and down the left coast on and near various faults (and volcanic mountains) and riding out a few majors and countless minors I'm not extremely worried, possibly a little jaded. I'm out on the western edge of whats considered middle TN and I think the difference in crust and top layers here in the highland plateau vs the Mississippi river basin and surrounding low lands will result in a sharper shock here with less rolling. Soil liquefaction of the 'unconsolidated materials' that make up the west side of TN will probably be an issue for Memphis and those east to beyond Jackson. Then, as you stated, there's the river it's self. Rolling will seem to go on forever. Happy I selected a limestone hill up out of potential floods.

What was the issue with the Chargers?

Did not stay on the highway. 2am, zero traffic. Lucky to have a bright full moon that night. I shut off lights and had installed a brake light kill switch. I was already hauling butt so I had a heck of a jump on him/her. Blacked out I ran several miles flat out and let the turbo, injectors and tune do their job. No idea the actual speed but in excess of 150. Got off the highway, back tracked on a frontage road and then headed WAY around the scene. I knew that the BP check point 40 or so miles ahead on the highway would have been called. The tiny town that AZHP had to have been out of probably had 2 out that night. Lucky again I didn't find the other. So dumb. Never tried that again.

Not as prepped as I would like, but then again I never will be. Not going to try to divulge numbers, but yeah I would survive a couple rainy years before getting into MRE's. Oooo, a shiny new website to check out. Thanks @Ronald_55

Welcome Tyler. Also a former rider, and may well be one again too. Pops never rides his Harley and I have a feeling it's going to come my way one day.

No video, but I've been up in the shop today building a new reloading bench and jamming to some Rush.

"Coptimus Prime" LOL I remember CHP (CA) had a super charged 5.0 in the late 80's early 90's that ran in no mans land somewhere between Bakersfield and Fresno. I never had the pleasure of attracting it's attention but heard the thing was ridiculous (for it's time). A , uhhh, friend managed to outrun and loose a late night speed trap on an AZ highway once a long time ago when he was young and very dumb. Don't recall the make and model, but it was a sedan cruiser. That 87 Shelby GLHS is missed. So dumb.

Never easy to take any life. I put up pigs and chickens every year and it's never fun or easy, certainly don't come away with a smile. Fools and psychos think/feel that way. I don't hunt trophies. Never got into the zombie craze, just drew some parallels. Never even shot at a zombie target, just a standard outline, and even then only a few times. I'll kill the devil outta paper plates though.

I always equated zombies with the general public. Especially average city dwellers. When I go to the city I see a lot a parallels in behavior. Generally unaware unless something they want catches their attention. Herding together. Unable to hold an intelligible conversation.

I'm sure that would be great for rinsing out the various fluids and solids nasty ass people leave behind.

OMG, San Diego Stadium 1981....man, just barely. I think it changed to Jack Murphy Stadium in 81 or 82. I always knew it as "The Murph". Even after it changed to "The Q" (Qualcomm). Gosh, that pic is just a couple years before Ricky Johnson exploded in the racing scene. Memories.

Having been born and raised in the SD area, I'm sure I take a lot of it for granted. But personally I think TN is far prettier. The only vibrant green you see in CA is peoples lawns, and that's getting regulated out of existence....front yards started looking like you were driving through Tucson. TN is not nearly as diverse in terrain, true. But I never much cared for the ocean. I could ski and snow board, but it wasn't really my thing. While there are good memories and still a fondness for some of the old haunts, I feel far more at home/ease here than I did in the last 10 or 12 yrs of living in Cali. I also spent time in AZ, TX and WA. TN is my favorite. I do love the panhandle of Idaho too. But I elected to stay below a certain latitude for winter weather reasons. If CA became a sane state again tomorrow, I would not move back. I like y'all. Love this state. I even dropped sports teams. I route for the Vols. NFL can suck it as far as I'm concerned.

@buck1032 Awesome! I do miss the occasional ride out old 94 to the cafe all you can eat fish fry. Salad drowning in house dressing, beans that are so so, rice pilaf stuff that was edible, and of course the fish. I did most of my growing up out in those mountains. Still have my first pellet gun that took many rabbits and squirrels in those hills. It's a miracle I was never a vehicular casualty out on 94 with as much as I've traveled it. Thanks for chiming in. Brought a smile to my face, literally.

Woo-wee that's neat looking. Would you ever fire it? " Biondo explained that he had to be extremely careful when he was cutting through the chunk of meteorite. “It was definitely one of those jobs where you had to go by feel and sound,” he said. “If you mix carbon steel, aluminum, stainless steel and throw in some diamonds, that’s what it felt like." Cannot disagree. From my old home I could go riding in the desert, skiing or hit beach. All a day trip away. I left not because of the quakes, but political enviro getting ever worse... my district was split and votes negated (gerrymander). But the nail in the coffin was when water wells in my valley started drying up, including mine. I had near by neighbors have to re drill and go more than 1000ft! As soon as that issue hit me, I was looking at a map.

Tisas magazines, where to find them
I40Bandit replied to T.Wes1048's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I think I would try contacting Tisas and request a few dealer who would stock them. I looked around and that does seem to be like finding a unicorn. Good luck! -
Especially the swarms of earthquakes, lol. If it were geologically possible, I'd be cheering for CA to break off and sink. I would even settle for a compromise....think if just Hollywood and Burbank were wiped off the map.... One can dream. A couple structure fires, a collapsed building and canned goods everywhere.....Gov. Newsom issue state of emergency at it's highest level and immediately request Fed funding. Psshhh. https://weather.com/news/news/2019-07-05-earthquake-southern-california

And to be very clear, I'm not offering any of my tools, fixtures or receiver(s) (finished or not) for use, rent or sale. Above convo with DaveTN was merely hypothetical. Advice on getting a smooth FCG pocket finish is free. -
Congrats! Yup, trips to the store are a planned event.
